Oasis - Wonderwall voted as the number 1 song of the past 20 years by Triple J
I agree, actually. It's a very, very simplistic and listenable song. The only reason it's hated so much is that it's been played to death about fifteen times in the last year alone. It's a fine song - a bit simplistic, but a good song. People just get sick of hearing the same simplistic song for 18 years. It doesn't help that the simplicity makes it the stereotypical guitar-beginner song, meaning that people hear shitty renditions of it more often than anyone would ever want to hear it, and it's pretty much just overplayed to the point of hatred.
But it's a perfectly fine song.
its sappy boring inoffensive and its literally about nothing
the only thing good about it is the drum breaks
i listen to:
eiffel 65
anal cunt
merzbow
& janet jack s0n
because maybeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, you're gonna be the one that saves meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
If any cunt pulls up an acoustic guitar and plays this at a campfire, get ready for fire-marshmellow bombing.
Where the fuck is Queen, in 1992 they released The Show Must Go On.
Just curious, it was released in 92? Didn't they play it at Wembley in 86?

It's popular, you can't help yourself to kill everything in your path.
Feel Good Inc is at like 52?
0/10
Oasis is just that kind of music where, if it happens to come on, it's not really bad enough to turn off, but there's nothing to go out of your way to listen to either. It's just something someone puts on in the background of a bar or something.

Fucking love this song.
Awesome to see the killers high up. Love their music.

"Smile like you mean it" is my favorite Killers song.

Not only is it a great song, the music video is fantastic. Almost single-handedly sold 11 million copies of an album, making that the most successful funk album in history. Or at least "Space Cowboy":

Yeah, I like Jamiroquai.
wonder wall is pretty fucking catchy
-snip fuck didn't read past 20 years-
.
Fucking awesome list, pretty much all my childhood music is in here.
Wonderwall isn't even close to being the best Oasis song.
I don't understand this list.
Better Man and Stinkfist are good songs, but definitely not the best work from Pearl Jam and Tool.
Nice to see Daft Punk showed up on there 3 times.
Used to be my cousins favorite band, before she died. :(
Fun fact: Noel Gallagher now plays Ryan Adams's version of Wonderwall during his shows because he thinks it is better.
I am very ok with this list, yay.
yum gorillaz
Not the worst list ever, but wonderwall shouldnt even be on it
21: The Smashing Pumpkins – 1979 (1996)
yes
Motherfucking Silverchair is 17, awesome.
This list would be awesome provided it had a better number one
i agree with some like radiohead but uh i don't listen to some of that shit either.
i loved wonderwall the first time i heard it. dunno bout it being that damn high though.
The list isn't about what your personal preference is, it's about on the whole, what the most iconic songs have been. Wonderwall isn't MY favourite songs (as much as I love Oasis, seen them at one of their last gigs at Murrayfield and was brought up listening to their music), Wonderwall is a song that everyone and their grans dog can sing, in full, to you.
