Yet anther fantastic piece of journalism from Engadget. I don't get why this is even news, people do this all the time.
So about those guillotines...
Fucking beautiful.
So about those guillotines...
Time for a French Revolution in America!
And this is one of the reasons why capitalism sucks. Anyone with enough money can buy anything. Those dinosaur bones could have gone to good use - but nope, fuck it, let's waste 'em on NOTHING.
To be fair, that's also the strength of capitalism. If a museum sold that bone because it needed the money, it means they will be able to stay open for longer. If noone bought that bone, they might have had to close down for the public.
Magpie... Instincts... Taking over...
Can I please smack the asshole who actually payed for this shit? Please, I just want to hit him so hard that the stupid in him will be flying all the way to Mars.
It's not the job of individuals to use their money to help others, so if there's injustice involving distribution of wealth, then increase taxes or more efficiently use the current public money to educate and whatnot. I just don't know why people get so up-in-arms over "wastefulness". I mean, they had to buy those dinosaur bones so some archaeologists/ museum probably made a bundle (funding research at the cost of a few slivers of bone), the gold, diamonds, and the Ammolite all had to mined, which pays the paychecks of the people who work in those mines. In fact, I don't know why people aren't HAPPY when a rich guys throws all his money away.
make 8 million dollar ipad-2 buy it wait 6 months becomes outdated time to buy new one
If they want to waste their money on a blinged-out gadget that Apple will forcibly make obsolete in half a year, then so be it. They still had to pay for the materials from somewhere.
Oh man, I want my buttons to be made from Tyrannosaurus bones.
The point is that he could single handedly save literally thousands of lives, but chose to use his "successful business profits" on a retarded flashy gadget just cause he can.
Hey I noticed you've got the internet and a computer, well if you sold them you could educate quite a number of impoverished kids and probably feed them too. That's fine right?
I just don't know why people get so up-in-arms over "wastefulness"
Yes you do.
My god! That makes it almost twice as expensive! [editline]1st November 2011[/editline] Also, whoever buys that is going to be very sour when the iPad 3 comes out.
Now switch it with an Android tablet. "OMFG THAT'S THE COOLEST THING EVER, FUCKIN' DINO BONES MAKING MY ANDROID WIFE EVEN SEXIER!"
Yes you do.
Well if by that you mean that I acknowledge that people harbor a irrational hated towards excess (of the rich), then yes, I do. "I just don't know" is just a way of saying "I see no objective reason for this"
Now switch it with an Android tablet. "OMFG THAT'S THE COOLEST THING EVER, FUCKIN' DINO BONES MAKING MY ANDROID WIFE EVEN SEXIER!"
uh
