Just a tip to new players; avoid building the terracotta army wonder unless you plan to sacrifice 70% of your population on a regular basis
Holy shit I remember how I played this as a weeee kid. Still got the vanilla + thrones & patriots. Great game.
One of the main reasons I love this game is because you can design scenarios where you have two extremely technologically advanced city-states controlled by hard difficulty computer. You can just sit back, and hit play, and see a war unfold.
AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Holy god damn shit. This fucking game was almost my entire childhood, raising armies and fighting my dad was some of the best memories I have. To think I thought everyone had forgotten this game.
Where the fuck is Empire Earth Enhanced you fuckers?
I preferred Empire Earth 2, especially after I went back and played the first one and realized it took a year and a half to epoch up.
This game was so good. Glad it's got some work done on it, it deserves it.
Ah hell, it's a good enough excuse to post these. This is a 4v4, all Bantu, unlimited resources, future tech start, East meets West game. Everyone has AI researched meaning that everyone spams unit after unit. I decided to be a lazy fuck and use only basic infantry and air units. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/13459825/RoNShit1.png[/t] My defensive line. The Collossus in the back died anyway :( [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/13459825/RoNShit2.png[/t] The offensive line. Usually the AI is too silly to clear out the water resulting in a shooting gallery for the other team's subs. Not that it mattered anyway, units are free. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/13459825/RoNShit3.png[/t] The result of having unlimited and instant everything.
Preordered this even though I swore not to buy anymore games old games dont count....... right?
I know they probably wont, but I would die of happiness if they did this with Rise of Legends. It has to be one of my favourite ever games.

A few months into playing it, the multiplayer lobbies were empty except for the occasional "please someone play with me"
Never thought I'd see the day it'd be on Steam. Especially with enhanced visuals, it's just too good.

this is one of the games I never played. I heard about it, i wanted it, but I never could get it as a kid. Is it worth getting this in a few weeks or whatever?
the best classical rts ever? dude, age of mythology extended edition costs $30
Age of Mythology is great as well, but this is far more all-encompassing and has a ton more content than Age of Mythology, for $10 less. Whether or not this is better than Age of mythology comes down to opinion, but I would argue this has much more content and is better based simply off of that alone.
I've been begging for this on FP for years. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
This makes me really happy, as it's my favorite RTS game ever. It really sucks that the original refuses to work on W7 for some reason, and i've tried everything to make it work. Also, my 300th post is about Rise Of Nations. I can die happy.
as soon as I saw Age of Mythology extended edition I started praying for a re-release (or at least digital release) of Rise of Nations. The gods answered.
I still play this every now and then... We should play a celebratory match one of these days.
Minimum: OS: Windows Vista, 7, 8.1+
My lazyness to upgrade my XP is catching up to me :suicide:
I'm mad that I can't find a video of RoNs credits, there was another song too. [editline]30th May 2014[/editline] RISE OF NATIONS, RISE OF NATIONS, THEY JUST KEEP ON RISING
Where the fuck is Empire Earth Enhanced you fuckers?
This little fucker could destroy EVERYTHING, goddamn it i want a rerelease of EE so bad now.
I hope the sequel follows.
GET HYPED
I really enjoyed removing the armeggedon timer in this game and just having all out nuke wars, because the NPCs don't give a fuck how many nukes they launch.
I hope they add options to change the armageddon timer. The armageddon timer could lead to some pretty cool situations, but most of the time it was horrible. I'm sure everyone had that one friend who would immediately launch all of his nukes and end the game just because you took one of his cities.
Hopefully Skybox Labs doesn't have too many games on their hands to re-release so that they don't update and patch the ones they've already released. Age of Mythology: Extended Edition's release was kind of shaky and there's only been a few patches since. Multiplayer can be a bit buggy, but the rest of the game runs flawlessly for me.
Just a tip to new players; avoid building the terracotta army wonder unless you plan to sacrifice 70% of your population on a regular basis
I used to use that to great effect, especially in the 20th Century ages. I spent a lot more time playing this game than I realised
Never played this before, how similar is this to Empire Earth?
It's kinda similar, I'd say if you enjoyed Empire Earth you'll enjoy this.
Hope they do a Rise of Legends: Extended Edition. These 'old game updates' or whatever are a brilliant idea. So glad this has happened.
