For years, Michele Bachmann, reffered herself as a Doctor. She's not a Doctor

I am Professor Nerts and after much research and debate I have concluded that Bachmann is not only a horrible candidate, but a horrible person too, and we weren't even testing for that.

This thing is, the country isn't running.

Because, every so often, someone like Barack Obama or Theodore Roosevelt will rise up out of the filth and take the reins in hand.

What is she the next Sarah Palin?
Sorry guys actual link put up

She actually is a doctor.
She completed a JD which is a professional doctoral degree.
Unless you go by the logic that only a PhD qualifies one as a doctor, in which there will be quite a few holders of the MD that will be unhappy with you.

But batshit scumbag lawyers aren't exactly anything new.
[editline]21st August 2011[/editline]
And in the United States there aren't too many lawyers using the title Dr. even though it's legitimate.
[editline]21st August 2011[/editline]
In non-US systems where the J.D exists in combination with the Bachelor of Laws, there's quite a few more people with JDs calling themselves Dr, in order to distinguish themselves from the LL.B and LL.M grads.
From now on I am Professor Lieutenant General President Laserbeams.
Legal profession
Historically, lawyers in most European countries were addressed with the title of doctor, and countries outside of Europe have generally followed the practice of the European country which had policy influence through modernization or colonialization. The first university degrees, starting with the law school of the University of Bologna (or glossators) in the 11th century, were all law degrees and doctorates. Degrees in other fields were not granted until the 13th century, but the doctorate continued to be the only degree offered at many of the old universities up until the 20th century. As a result, in many of the southern European countries, including Portugal, Spain and Italy,[14] lawyers have traditionally been addressed as “doctor,” a practice which was transferred to many countries in South America (as well as Macau in China).
The title of doctor has not customarily been used to address lawyers in England or other common law countries because until 1846 lawyers in England were not required to have a university degree and were trained by other attorneys by apprenticeship or in the Inns of Court. The exception being those areas where, up to the 19th century, civil law rather than common law was the governing tradition, including admiralty law, probate and ecclesiastical law, such cases were heard in the Doctor's Commons, and argued by advocates who held degrees either of doctor of civil law at Oxford or doctor of law at Cambridge. As such, lawyers practicing common law in England were not doctoral candidates and had not earned the doctorate level degree. When university degrees became a prerequisite to become a lawyer in England, the degree awarded was the undergraduate LL.B.
Though lawyers in the United States do not customarily use such a title, the law degree in that country is the Juris Doctor, a professional doctorate degree, and some J.D. holders in the United States use the title of doctor in professional and academic situations.

In countries where holders of the first law degree traditionally use the title of doctor (for example, Peru, Brazil, Macau, Portugal, Argentina, and Italy), J.D. holders who are attorneys may use the title of doctor in advertisements in Spanish.
Of course Michelle Bachmann is INSANE. But you can't criticize legitimately criticize her for this.
And it's not like you'd need to, every other week she does/says something absolutely ridiculous.
I'm also a Facepunch moderator.

I wonder what the percentages would be if a national survey was held asking people if they believe the government has the consent of the governed.
you can do that?
from now on you guys will call me Dr. Buttsex
All hail, King Buttsex XVII!

I live here, and I still wounder how we are still running.

When the people up top are insane, the people in the middle (ie, bureaucrats, state and local officials etc...) take the brunt of running the country.

wow she is actually incredibly educated
Sarah Palin was tame in comparison to this nut case
fuck Michele Bachman... I believe I am done
Is that supposed to be a request? You sadistic bastard.
Each time I read a thread about American politicians or politics, I wonder how the country is still running.
Because for every ten Palins and Bachmanns, there will always be one Roosevelt, or a guy that simply says "Fuck it I'm doing the right thing."
wow she is actually incredibly educated
Yeah, but still blindly stupid.
Yeah, but still blindly stupid.
which makes it funny and tragic at the same time
All dumb soccermom jokes aside, I'm starting to wonder if there's actually something wrong with her.
Couldn't the consistent lying, memory-loss, migraines and hate for everything that isn't herself be caused by some kind of illness?
Doctor Greenen here, I've done some tests and I've diagnosed her with "politician"
She's at the right place at the right time, the people who are supporting her basically hate everyone that isn't supporting them, and there's enough now that she found her calling.
The lying and 'memory loss' are pretty self explanatory and probably the same thing, and migraines aren't so uncommon to be a sign of something really bad.
I hate defending her, but you saying that personality stuff is explainable by disease really irks me, similar to saying that being gay is a disease.

So can I really be Sergeant Of The Master Sergeants Most Important Person Of The Extreme Sergeants To The Max?

Although to be fair if she wins a nuclear extinction would be for our own good.

He's not a real doctor.

It still wouldn't be cooler than Staff Sergeant Max Fightmaster. Who is very real.

Sensationalist news you mean.
Nobody wants her to win other than the ultra religious who share her views on gay marriage, and there's no way in hell she'd ever get the nomination with all this stuff coming out and with the way she handles herself in interviews. All this overreacting is wasted energy.
There are many people whose only knowledge of her comes from watching the right-wing and even some of the centrist media collectively orgasm whenever they mention her in that one debate where she talked a lot more than everyone else. Those are the people you need to worry about, not the zealots.
Sensationalist news you mean.
You imply they are different?

War. War never changes
The end of the world occurred pretty much as we had predicted. Too much stupidity, not enough brains or resources to go around. The details are trivial and pointless, the reasons, as always, purely human ones.
