tbh can't help but think OP's picture sort of resembles this

But that was a Japanese Solider killing an Australian
Isn't this encouraging xenophobia and nationalism?
Build support for the government by reminding everybody of the the evil foreigner.

The Chinese PLA released a propaganda video game where the players liberate sovereign territory from the evil Japanese army. It's called Glorious Mission Online.
I think the government is fine with this mall sale.
ww2 japan and china were lame
Tell that to the Yamato battleship.
China lost 14 Million people 1937-1939 to Japan, it's amazing the west totally skips that and says World War 2 began with Germany/Poland circa 1939.
If China hadn't fought them off you'd be fucked America, no one makes Hollywood films about that unfortunately. Makes sense why, outside of trade their foreign policies isolate themselves a bit.
I was replying to Sableye about how his statment may be better applicable to Vietnam and the Philippines since there have not existed any large historical beefs between them as there has been between China and Japan...
I don't know who you're addressing your stuff to. I'm pretty sure no one in West has forgotten what happened in Asia.
Tell that to the Yamato battleship.
I'm meaning it on the atrocity's they committed back then
Tell that to the Yamato battleship.
It sank.
It's basically the same as if some American company used killing Nazis to promote sales. It doesn't sound unheard of really.
The Nazi ideology is something almost everyone can rally around to hate equally though, as it is the definition of an evil ideology.
It's also not a race, so hatred for such a thing is largely different on the scale of things.

Hating Japanese Imperialism is something that unites the asian countries who hate eachother.

But Japanese Imperialism isn't really much of a thing any more, why are they all so stuck in the past?

It was around long enough.
It was around long enough.
So was British Imperialism.
So was British Imperialism.
Notice that I didn't say anything about that?
Notice that I didn't say anything about that?
I noticed, I was just pointing out that just because something is around long enough doesn't mean it has to become as toxic as what the Chinese are currently doing.
The saddest part of all this is if you look back and read the history of the Nanking Massacre and all the other war crimes of the Japanese of that time, it can pretty much be allocated to a few of the Princes and less than a handful of Generals. I mean Iwane Matsui was a general who after the incident was recorded saying "I now realize that we have unknowingly wrought a most grievous effect on this city. When I think of the feelings and sentiments of many of my Chinese friends who have fled from Nanking and of the future of the two countries, I cannot but feel depressed. I am very lonely and can never get in a mood to rejoice about this victory.". He also said a few weeks later to a Japanese Diplomat "My men have done something very wrong and extremely regrettable.". He was among those executed for the war crimes, but none of the Princes were.
Emperor Hirohito didn't even really want to invade China, as he was afraid of going to war with the Soviet Union and worried about how long it would take, but his cabinet convinced him. He also was disgusted with a lot of the things the Japanese Army were doing in China. He wasn't completely free of blame though, he did authorize the use of gas to execute Chinese prisoners.
Doesn't change the fact they haven't apologized for half the shit they did.

Also that WHOLE region of the world is racist against itself, the Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Filipinos. They all fucking hate eachother.

There's still hatred against the British for some of the shit they did, but the Brits also didn't do mass executions and gas attacks.
I can see it now "FOREVER 21 STORES REENACT OPERATION MARKET GARDEN TO DRUM UP SALES".
But we lost Operation Market Garden :v:
Not to mention that it makes about as much sense as Wal-Mart reenacting Omaha Beach in the furniture aisle to spur sales of bean bag chairs.
That sounds awesome. Wal-Mart should totally do that.
But we lost Operation Market Garden :v:
I know. That was the joke, I chose the store 'Forever 21' for a reason. Because there are many who are now forever 21, due to Market Garden and our loss there. Admittedly, I could have chosen any battle we won or lost, for the same effect with that. However, I felt that the point would have been driven home more with an operation we failed with.
plus they could pretend to blow up bridges.
