I've been smoking marijuana for ages and never even once had the urge to get even remotely near filth like heroin, what the fuck are you going on about?
Who would carry 30 grams of pot, honestly
Personal accountability is evaporating. People blame their problems on the trivial medication they didn't take, even though they function identically without it, or on the school system that failed them, when really they needed to be learning on their own.

It seems the bigger threat is gateway personalities, not gateway drugs. But the people who go from smoking weed to shrooms to MDMA to LSD to cocaine to herion and eventually end up dead or homeless. That's not because of the drugs, that's because they're foolish and choose to continue.

Psychedelic/dance/party drugs like LSD, MDMA, Shrooms, etc. don't lead to stimulant use. Most party users tend to stick to a certain group of drugs such as weed + psychedelics/dance drugs. Not to mention you typically aren't associating with people that have a different class of drugs. Most dealers stick to a certain group such as psychedelics, stimulants, or opiates. 9/10 times your weedman isn't going to also be selling meth or crack.
Adderall is more of a gateway drug to cocaine or meth than weed is.
Likewise, your parent's hydrocodone (vicodin) pills are more of a gateway drug to more powerful opiates like oxy or heroin than weed will ever be.

I did hard drugs before I ever started smoking weed.
It is nothing like hard drugs. Kinda defeats the argument of it being in anyway, a gateway.

Why is weed a gateway drug and alcohol and tobacco aren't?
Actually, I'll answer that question. None of them are. The kind of people it takes to want to take hard drugs are also one of many kinds of people who smoke weed, hence why you'll see that a lot of people who take hard drugs say they smoked weed first. Weed didn't factor into whether they took hard drugs or not and there are plenty of people out there who just want to smoke weed. You could apply exactly the same argument about gateway drugs to tobacco and alcohol. Hell, even fucking caffeine. I'll bet the vast majority of people on hard drugs drank coffee before even smoking their first joint. Ban caffeine.
Why is smoking weed immoral? Depriving people of a euphoric and relaxing experience that is barely harmful to them and doesn't cause any real problems for the people around them (unlike, say, alcohol) is what's immoral here.

+1
This is pretty much how things work. Typically, people do drugs not because they want to end up homeless, and it's not as if they're spiraling out of control either.
The reason people move from weed to other drugs is because weed is a beginner's drug that gives a small taste of what being in an altered state of mind is. From there, people are more confident to try other drugs such as psychs (shrooms, LSD, 2C-B, LSA, or even synthetic compounds), stimulants (cocaine and whatnot), and dissociatives (DXM, salvia). Often when around others, people take MDMA because of the social aspect of it and how they interact with others as a result of the drug.
Moving from any safer drug to opiates and amphetamines (except MDMA) is always the choice of the person taking them.
Each category has its purpose. Most people believe LSD, etc (fairly safe drugs with little widespread use) is terrible and leads to other drug use, but it's not as if taking a psych drug will make you want to try heroin or meth, as TehWhale accurately described. I don't want to sound like one of those 'the general public doesn't know' conspirators/sensationalists, but it's kind of true. The public only knows about drugs what they hear from the media, and we all know how well the media portrays things.
[Unrelated to the people I quoted,] people should do more research about what they're talking about before making claims about drugs.
Kind of a fragmented post, but I think I made my point.

Tobacco and alcohol are gateway drugs to other forms of tobacco and alcohol.
I've known many friends who started smoking weed, many of them I considered responsible and genuinely safe. However they started doing other drugs like shrooms and getting into trouble. This isn't a confirmation bias or anything. I saw their lives go to ruin.
I don't support tobacco, alcohol, caffeine or marijuana. They are all forms of degeneracy and should be banned or regulated.

It's hard to believe you're not a troll if coffee is past the limit for you.
Marijuana is not a gateway. Simply wanting to do anything is the gateway. And honestly, that gateway isn't really that bad if you're safe and smart which is entirely possible to do. You will surely disagree, which is another reason it's easy to believe you're a troll.

Also, since caffeine is on your list, I'm be drinking a soda out of sheer spite.

Caffeine is no different than any other drug. It is highly addictive, brings withdrawals, and makes people reliant on a substance rather than themselves. You can make a comparison to sugar or junk foods, because these are also addictive, but even a weak-willed person can overcome them.
I'm going to say it again, marijuana is a gateway drug. It makes people comfortable with taking drugs in the first place. If you had to choose whether to try cocaine or marijuana for the first time, which would you pick?

You support decadence, moral decay and the undermining of the principals of society that have guided man for the past 2000 years. If you don't think any of this means anything, then there you absolutely a degenerate.
North Philly area here. Would like to officially show why this does not excite me.

Philly cops are almost as big dickheads as NYPD. If the cops choose so they can still enforce the state law that still calls for $500 or 30 days in jail. And they will. People are only going to get more upset at the police for choosing to fuck people over. This is only going to cause a bigger divide between the people and police.

yes, the crusades and the plague, the inquisition, slavery, racism, executions, genocide, etc, great happenings of the last 2000 years and in many cases consequences of extreme "moral" views.

NE Philly here. Never met a cop that really gave a shit about small things. We always get off easy. Hell, once I accidentally kept my SAK on my keyring when I went to the courthouse for jury duty (pocket knives of any sort are illegal in Philly,) and the cops there were just like "whatever." Then again a friend of mine got busted a week ago for having half an ounce on him though so I guess it comes down to luck.

How is there any sort of moral decay going on?
At least in western society, morality has only been improving over the past 2000 years (hell I don't know why you say 2000 years and not just human history, we've been around longer than Anno Domini). We don't kill people for not being a certain religion, we don't force women in to the horrid subjugation women experienced the past all-of-human-history-prior, we don't lynch or subjugate people because they're not the same race as us, people have a lot more personal freedom, we've developed humane methods of execution and are in larger and larger numbers throwing it out entirely, gay rights are moving forward at an amazing pace (from likely to get you killed to being able to marry in several parts of the world and only increasing), and a million other things, so when you say morality is decaying, I don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
Also what principles of society? Every society is different, every culture is different, governments are different, we all have different ideas on how society should work, so how the fuck can there be 'Principles of society', hell, what would they even be? Do you even know that, or do you just believe that they exist and things you don't like hurt them somehow in some vague way?
And frankly, if you actually study history, one of the first things you realize is that everything sucked and everyone was an asshole. Whatever principles of society were guiding humans back then can be thrown the fuck out if that's what they produced.
