Yes! We won! What do we get?

You get to manage the EU for another five decades
Does this mean the Netherlands is ranked lower than Iran, or are we just not on the list?

24 countries participated and not all countries were looked at I guess.
Excuse me? Why is Germany more popular than Canada?
Jokes aside though, really why is Germany so popular?
How many Canadian products do people outside of Canada know. Just as an example.
What the fuck, the answer is the exact opposite of what you'd expect.
It's Europe.
European countries are more negative about South Korea than China is, by a wide margin.
uncultured imbeciles

Maple Syrup.
Maple Syrup.
Whats that?
The polling period mostly pre-dated Russia's annexation of Crimea
I wonder how much did these opinions fall because of the annexation.
Maple Syrup.
Is it sad that this is the first and only product that even came to mind? I can't think of another.

canada's #1 export to the rest of the world is politeness
You get to manage the EU for another five decades
As long as we get industry deals, cheap well educated and even cheaper low educated workers along with the highest weapon exports in the history of the country just as we used to in the last years I'm sure Merkel is fine with it.

Bombardier, Bauer, and...syrup
Literally carrying the entire EU on its shoulders.
Hm, not quite. I mean this is the strongest economy here and the country that pays the most, but it's not the only one that does.
Majorly responsible for starting the 1st world war, completely responsible for starting the 2nd. Most famous/infamous German is Hitler. Responsible for the murder of 6 million jews and crimes against humanity. Most popular country roughly 70 years later. Go figure.
edit: Let alone Merkel. Angela motherfucking Merkel. I don't even.
it's really strange how resilient germany has been in the aftermath of WWII. they spread their population across numerous continents, died in ludicrously high numbers, spent all their wealth on fueling the war and building new technology they thought would help them win, they lost brutally and had much of their country left in ruins, they completely destroyed their reputation and made themselves the least liked country in the world.... then they proceeded to become a world super power again within the span of a couple decades, continue to be at the forefront of technology and innovation, have one of the best standards of living in the world and now are the most popular country in europe.
Why so much negativity over South Korea?
Some problems in South Korea are state censorship (mostly a ban on sympathising with North Korea, porn, violence and japanese media), mistreatment of immigrants and xenophobia. The police can arrest and imprison anyone "endangering the state" leaving interpretation of the law entirely up to officials. Gay people are not accepted.
The political leaders use their power to clamp down on the opposition (they might harrass newspapers for instance).
They have conscription without any legal alternative to armed service (except for pro athletes) and death penalty is still legal (though no longer actively practiced).
These are just the problems in South Korea today, historically they have been far worse (and thankfully have improved). In the 90s they fed feces to their own soldiers so imagine what else was going on.
I wonder how each state would do in the US if you broke them up

Stay in skool kids
Germany is so popular because the gay movement has spawned a craving for sausage in many men.

They've done that before, it always breaks down to everyone loves Hawaii, hates Jersey, conservatives love Texas and hate California and liberals vice versa
I literally only know Vermont as "the Bernie Sanders place"
So, with this out of the way, when do we repay Russia for the wall? After the ceremonial partitioning of Poland of course but that's beside the point.

I recall hearing that we're the world's #1 exporter of peas. Lumber, uranium, crude oil, car parts, beef, wheat, and a number of precious metals are the bulk of the rest of our exports. We also have begun exporting Tim Hortons and TD Bank, and apparently Canadian Club whisky is considered a "premium spirit" outside of Canada (it's the cheapest whisky available here, and far from the best).
Because it's awesome.
But it isn't Legoland.

Hitler wasn´t german, he was austrian. And Germany wasn´t majorly responsible for 1st world war. It was Austria. Germany was just allied and forced to join the war. And world war 2 was just a response to the unfair Treaty of Versailles that was the result of the defeat of the Axis powers. And that gave loads of fuel for the nationalsocialists to take over the country.
