N. Korean general says Pyongyang has nuke-tipped ICBMs on standby

What NK really mean by "nuke-tipped ICBMs" is IBMs with a bit of old jam or chocolate spread on the side.
What I get from this situation is this: North Korea is in its room with the door locked with your massive lego collection that you made, North Korea is threatening to break it. You are outside the room with a breaching shotgun and a M3 Benelli shotgun.
Kim Jong Un reminds me of Theon Greyjoy...
This stuff about nukes is a diversion, I heard that NK was developing the Chaos Dunk. That's why Rodman went: to stop them from getting Jams of Mass Destruction.

oh shit were screwed
What if NK has been faking incompetence with failed missiles and they're actually really well equipped for nuclear war
If North Korea goes to war and all that sort of nonsense, I will eat my own hair.
Also, the US and NATO already have a planned out strategy for the worst case scenario about NK. That is common sense. But it's all kept strictly classified. There is no way NK would catch US or the rest unprepared. They would be full stopped before even attempting to launch a nuke at any country.
[editline]8th March 2013[/editline]
Doubtful. They would just shoot down the NK nuke and retaliate with conventional bombs. US above all, knows very well the potential threat of launching a single nuke on NK. It is best to just use regular bombers to take out their infrastructures. Cause NK doesn't even have anything to combat the bombers.
Isn't there like
rediculous amounts of anti-air on every square inch of NK soil
I once saw images that showed like a pit with AAA in it for every 20 meters, like some serious RTS turtler just played a 5 hour long match of SupCom and decided "fuck it, I'm not even gonna build tanks. More turrets."
Unless those are all ww2 manually aimed cannons and they can't even reach the altitude of an A-10 tankbuster.

There is, but that AA is obsolete against bombers flying at 35 - 40 000 feet.
Well if a nuke hit where i live in the uk it would cut the south of devon off from the rest of the country.
Hey I live in the south of Devon, is that a good thing or a bad thing :v:
Lmfao, no way in hell are they gonna kill the entire population of Seoul, let alone a quarter of it.
Sure, there would be some considerable damage, but 10 million dead? Man you're overestimating.
What do you think a nuclear weapon would do inside of a metropolis
Hey I live in the south of Devon, is that a good thing or a bad thing :v:
There would be a decrease in the chips supply to go with the fish, and it might rain a bit more.
Seriously though, considering how the UK is an island and the biggest possible nuke NK might throw out is Hiroshima level, one or a few cities would be flattened. Which is nothing compared to what a real thermo nuke would do to it in an actual Defcon situation.
Still, nothing in nuke terms is still a gargantuan cost in human life, which is why noone is crazy enough to push the button. Unless Kim-jong Ungs glorious fat ass were to come and sit upon it
Didn't china already say that NK really shouldn't do anything?
If North Korea goes to war and all that sort of nonsense, I will eat my own hair.
Don't eat your own hair it will fuck yu up
Lol.
Firstly, it's unlikely their bomb is anywhere small enough at this stage. The first American bombs were in the order of 4 tonnes each. Their rockets aren't anywhere capable of launching it any great distance. It took the US 10 years to get it down to a reasonable size and that was with billions of dollars in research, something NK lacks
Secondly, have the fixed the exploding rocket issue yet?
Underestimating an enemy is invariably a precursor to having your ass handed to you by said enemy.

Indeed, it's generally a bad idea.
I am slightly worried about all this. It makes no sense to start acting so aggresively (moreso than usual) for no reason. The only logical reasoning behind it would be if they did actually have something like one or more (capable) nukes to make their threats more solid.
What if the secretly re-created the Tsar Bomba :tinfoil:
What if the secretly re-created the Tsar Bomba :tinfoil:
How would they test it without blowing themselves up?
It's fusion bomb, which is much harder to make than dirty/fission bomb.
I know we're generally watching them with satellites so we can see what they're up to on the launchpad, but they know this. I wouldn't be surprised if they've got underground facilities, hidden coastal nuclear sub bases or something like that. I think the most dangerous thing anybody can do at this point is underestimate NK and laugh at their failed attempts to do things.

damnit
Is the entireity of north korea bipolar or something?
the Soviet-trained officers of the KPA were developing their version, termed “Two Front War.”[6] As they envisioned it, a very large conventional force, greatly reinforced with artillery, armor, and mechanized forces, employing surprise, speed, and shock, would break through the DMZ, envelop and destroy South Korean forward forces, and rapidly overrun the entire peninsula.
this is from wikipedia

Underground facilities are easy to find despite popular belief, same with hidden sub bays/waterways. All of which have something leading to the surface, which is easy to pick out because usually they try to cover it up, but make it look so damn funny from above due to "over hiding" it.
I wonder if North Korea booby trapped the entire country to fuck up an invasion force. Also, I wonder if they've got a group of specially trained soldiers that will be a guerilla force in the event of the fall of NK.
I know I would have both of those if I were North Korea.
This is an excellent point, they could have got inspired by Switzerland:

Do they know that a single Minuteman III armed with a trio of W62 Warheads that can erase significant portions of their largest cities? Or does it take the knowledge that the US has 450 of these missiles in it's nuclear attack force to get them to wise up? Give it up NK, first off, there's no such thing as a nuclear sneak attack, unless you sneak it over the border and set it off on a truck. Missile launches are easy to detect.
Even if the US doesn't follow up with a counter-strike, the resulting damage to your economy from a ground war would force you to dissolve.
In any case, this will not end in favor of North Korea. Due to the doctrine of MAD, if one of your missiles does make it through, and actually detonates on any portion of US land, then there WILL be a counter-attack.
matter of fact is, if NK launches nukes at SK, they are not going to hit the ground. The AA in SK is more than sufficient
can they either shit or get off the pot already? i'm excited for some shit to go down, really, but NK is all talk... it kinda pisses me off, it's like a giant cocktease
This is legitimately worrying
I've seen like 5 articles like this this week, maybe they're serious this time
You never know
