I really need to stop reading threads regarding race on face-punch because it's just an echo chamber of stupidity and denial of basic statistical fact. If you think racism doesn't exist even at a sub consious level then you're living in fantasy land. I'm not saying the cops go out there everyday with the thought "Boy, I sure hope I get to kill some black people today." But they are inherently perceived as a bigger possible threat than any other group which leads to overreactions by police.
serious time, watch out because it's frustrating to argue or debate when you have an unpopular opinion on the internet, especially when it's with people you don't really know on a personal level. i'd rather haphazardly and lazily state my opinion than spend 20x to write something super detailed and thought together because the former is easier. simple as that. the automatic assumption that i'm just making shit up or saying stupid shit to fuck with people is something i've experienced a lot, too, which makes it doubly hard to be taken seriously. if it means anything to you, i've not really done anything like that in the past year or so. my posts've got a lot of sarcasm and swear words but they're all me.
I know how you feel.
i once had a cop pull me over and when he came up to the window he didnt ask for my license or anything he just stood there calling me an idiot moron for 5 minutes and then he just left. i dont even know what i was stopped for. #crimingwhilewhite
Guilty of whatever they might have done wrong, and then claim prosecution because of race.
do you have an example of this that isn't an anecdote?
Update on shit found on twitter which I find ridiculous.
When you can shoot up schools and movie theaters and they said you just have a mental illness #CrimingWhileWhite

Party busted, ran from Indiana cop. He caught me, furious: "if you were black I'd-a shot you." Cuffed, lectured, let go. #CrimingWhileWhite
1 of 2 by the same guy
Cops: Your job is hard but defending cops who murder unarmed civilians makes you look like monsters. U should be ashamed. #CrimingWhileWhite
2 of 2
Stopped for speeding an unregistered car with no plates and no license. No ticket or search. He just said: "Fix it." #CrimingWhileWhite

At 18, I was pulled over speeding. Friend and I were on acid. We had drank about 8 beers - empties on the floor. Warning. #CrimingWhileWhite
1 of 3
#CrimingWhileWhite oh yeah the time I got picked up for the gun at school thing they let my mom come pick me up and take me home. No juvie.
2 of 3
#CrimingWhileWhite at age 24, pulled a gun on a neighbor. Arrested and bonded out, but no charges were ever filed.
3 of 3
#CrimingWhileWhite at 17, got in a fight in front of a mall in broad daylight. Cited and released into the custody of my friend's mom.
This hashtag is a mixture of some probably true things and mostly fake bullshit.
fuck right off. this wouldn't be happening if the dude was white, latino, asian. It's because it's a fucking white on black. The people are like feminists, they don't want equality they want to throw a fucking fit and get special treatment.
Again, since so many people seem to be so willfully ignorant of this fact: white people weren't being hanged from lightpoles in broad daylight half a century ago. White people weren't segregated into financially devastated urban ghettos. White people don't face ongoing institutionalized discrimination. There is a reason why black people, and black people specifically, are prone to highlighting racial issues in the United States. And that reason is as follows: there are racial issues in the United States. And it is posts like yours that help prove it.
I am actually appalled by the amount of agrees in his post, I remember facepunch SH was a liberal circlejerk where racists, biggots, and other faggots were too scared to post because there were so many left wing shitposters (thisispain, sanius) that did an incredibly good job of making anyone who didn't agree with something look like an idiot
#WhiningWhileWhite
FP users are participating in this too?
Said no one with a brain.
It's a serious racial issue, but not in the way they're making it out to be. It could of been any other combination, black on white even, and noone would of batted an eye. But because it's white on black it's suddenly a "slavery affected my people so hurd garr"

Just yesterday there was a post about how the Bosnian community in St. Louis was in outrage that someone was killed in cold blood. Yes, it's a racial issue - what other way can you make it out to be? It was a white cop versus an innocent black man. Yes, that's fucking black and white. People are outraged about it because this shit happens to black people more often than any other race. Slavery affected black people. Discrimination currently affects them. Saying "slavery is over stop whining" is fucking idiotic - yeah, it's over, but they're still suffering from the aftershocks and the discrimination that it bred.

Call me crazy, but despite the fact there's discrimination(hell there's discrimination AGAINST white people), that doesn't mean that people have the right to say that slavery affected them personally when they have no idea what hardships the people in the past have been affected by and to stoop it to a level as simple as "white cop shoot black guy" must be shameful.
are you saying that slavery doesn't affect black people or discrimination doesn't affect people or both actually it doesn't even matter you're batshit insane if you think both of those don't affect black people
Of course it affects them, but that doesn't mean they should act as if the current generation is to blame for things that happened in the past or that an entire race is at fault for what one Police Officer did. It didn't happen because he was white, it happened because he is poorly trained and not doing his job properly ( Which is protect the peace and citizens isn't it? ) I think we should be more outraged that someone who's supposed to be protecting people not only isn't following his training but also is completely disregarding the safety of people in the community he swore to protect.

I don't even know when this shift happened. I'm kind of really out of touch with the popular opinion of SH.
I remember that too. I don't even know when this shift happened. I'm kind of really out of touch with the popular opinion of SH.
It seems to have been inspired by /pol/, what with all the "FUCKING SJW'S!!!" and "m'lady m'lady m'lady tips fedora euphoric atehist! xD" stuff, both of which are the complete opposites of the general opinions just a year or so ago
Of course it affects them, but that doesn't mean they should act as if the current generation is to blame for things that happened in the past or that an entire race is at fault for what one Police Officer did. Why wouldn't someone be indicted for murder? Is there something we don't know?
fuck right off. this wouldn't be happening if the dude was white, latino, asian. It's because it's a fucking white on black.
Why are you implying that feminists throw a fit and get special treatment when they don't? Why are you implying that blacks get special treatment when it comes to social media outrage when they don't? [editline]3rd December 2014[/editline] Most of these are fake
I've seen it happen first hand, so personally I believe black people are EASILY targeted more than whites. Fundamental fact to me.
The outrage is also focused on the fact that the officer wasn't indicted for murder. Why wouldn't someone be indicted for murder? Is there something we don't know?
I'm not disdaining how batshit insane the situation at hand is. I just wish people didn't bring up it like were back in the times of slavery.
There are times that I wonder if Twitter is paying the media under the table to devote text and airtime to what happens on Twitter. Hashtags don't fucking matter. They are idiotic. The end.
