I am honest i am also against homosexual marriage. It is my opinion. You can imagine yourself the bad sides about it.
I hate it when people post dumb opinions on homosexuality in threads like this, then fuck off never to be seen again until the next thread, never responding when quizzed as to why they feel that way- just tell us why you don't like gays so we can laugh at your terrible reasoning its not hard wow.
As we haven't been able to come up with an actual downside to gay marriage, I'm pretty sure that we can come up with way more upsides to it. Let me start. Letting gay couples adopt children. Thus there would be less children raised by the state.

Sorry i am in my exams month thats why i respond so late. I see a lot of people rated me dumb because i am against gay/same sex marriage but let me tell you why. And ffs its my opinion i feel like you guys would kill me for that. 1. As we know the institution of marriage is traditional defined between a man and a women. Thats what came in your mind at first if you hear marriage and all that stuff related to it. 2. Allowing gay couples to wed will further weaken the institution of marriage. (Traditional marriage is already threatened with high divorce rates (between 40% and 50%) and with 40.6% of babies being born to unmarried mothers in 2008.) 3. Gay marriage could potentially lead down a "slippery slope" giving people in polygamous, incestuous, bestial, and other nontraditional relationships the right to marry. 4. Gay marriage may lead to more children being raised in same-sex households, which are not an optimum environment because children need both a mother and father. 5. Gay marriage will accelerate the assimilation of gays into mainstream heterosexual culture to the detriment of the homosexual community. (The gay community has created its own vibrant culture. By reducing the differences in opportunities and experiences between gay and heterosexual people, this unique culture may cease to exist.) 6. Marriage is a privilege, not a right. Society can choose to endorse certain types of sexual arrangements and give support in the form of benefits to these arrangements. Marriage was created to allow society to support heterosexual couples in procreation and society can choose not to give the same benefits to same-sex couples. 7. Marriage should not be extended to same-sex couples because they cannot produce children together. 8. Marriage is a religious rite between one man and one woman. 9. Gay marriage is incompatible with the beliefs, sacred texts, and traditions of many religious groups. EDIT: I am especially afraid that if we allow same-sex/gay marriage all the other "unnormal" (incest, bestial etc.) sexual orientations want the same rights.
shit
"Institution of marriage will be weakened" Priest: "I'm sorry, 5 gay couples got married recently, we can't marry any heterosexual couples because reason" ? edit: Your reasons are exactly the same as typical "dem dern gays" people, i.e. entirely superstitious nonsense

Just because "it used to be that" doesn't mean it can't change. 2. No, no it won't, bad marriages lead to divorce, gay marriage does not equal bad marriage 3. No. 4. Statistically untrue, the data that currently exists shows no major harm is done to children in gay households, and they're actually better off than children in foster/state care, which is where they'd be if they weren't being adopted by gay couples 5. What are you even trying to say? 6. Okay, and what if society chooses to accept gay marriages equally? 7. Are you saying marriage should also not be extended to elderly or otherwise sterile couples? There's more to it than just procreation 8. Not entirely, marriage also has various social and legal definitions, the legal ones should not be tied to the religious ones 9. See above.
“That’s a lie. That’s an absolute lie. We have a right to raise our kids without homosexuals being part of the Boy Scouts, the schools and teachers and doing everything. They can be all that, but don’t shove your agenda down my kid’s throat. We have a right to raise our kids how we want not how you want,” Mack said.
Yes and as a teacher I have had the wonderful joy of dealing with racist, homophobic 4 year olds. I don't see how someone having rights will do anything to take away their own rights. African Americans were seen as less than, not 100% the same way homosexuals are but there is a pattern of similar vitriol that is thrown their way. What we see more of in the media and news is this idea of people needing to hate and be against someone/ some way of life. Where as, most people could give two shits what you do with who you like. Now its usually people who have had some negative interaction with a homosexual or have been raised with this hate that have such an issue. Guess I was just raised not to hate people just because they are different. Though I can say that there are many positive points to helping homosexuals marry that do benefit children (e.g. adoption rights to both parents, benefits, money invested into wedding businesses, etc.)

"Gay marriage is incompatible with the beliefs, sacred texts, and traditions of many religious groups." fuck off no one likes your insensitive views gj calling gay people "unnormal"
Homosexual behavior in animals is sexual behavior among non-human species that may be interpreted as homosexual or bisexual. This may include sexual activity, courtship, affection, pair bonding, and parenting among same-sex animal pairs. Research indicates that various forms of this are found throughout the animal kingdom.[1][2] Close to 1,500 species, ranging from primates to gut worms, have been observed engaging in such behavior and this is well documented for 500 of them.[3][4]
homosexuality sure is unnatural, homo sapiens are the only species putting their penis in other dude's butts oh wait
1. As we know the institution of marriage is traditional defined between a man and a women. Thats what came in your mind at first if you hear marriage and all that stuff related to it.
That's the traditional definition yes, and most gays really don't care. The fact is that married couples benefit from all kinds of social benefits under the law. Most people would be just fine with redefining the legal aspects of marriage to 'civil union' and letting churches use the term 'marriage' if they like.
3. Gay marriage could potentially lead down a "slippery slope" giving people in polygamous, incestuous, bestial, and other nontraditional relationships the right to marry.
A 'slippery slope' is a logical fallacy. There is no reason why gay marriage would lead to any of the examples you gave. You might as well be arguing that if we give blacks the right to vote, then it'll be dogs voting next. It's absurd.
4. Gay marriage may lead to more children being raised in same-sex households, which are not an optimum environment because children need both a mother and father.
My father died when I was thirteen. I have a friend whose father died when he was an infant. Should we have been taken away from our surviving parents and raised by the state because we need both a mother and a father?
7. Marriage should not be extended to same-sex couples because they cannot produce children together.
So infertile people, or people who have been voluntarily sterilized (tubes tied/vasectomy), or the elderly, shouldn't be legally entitled to marriage?
9. Gay marriage is incompatible with the beliefs, sacred texts, and traditions of many religious groups.
That's their problem. Your religious beliefs don't override my rights, that goes for all things.

EDIT: I am especially afraid that if we allow same-sex/gay marriage all the other "unnormal" (incest, bestial etc.) sexual orientations want the same rights.
1) Actually, first thing that comes to mind when I hear marriage is a old fashioned ceremony that stems from a scripture. In no way does it feel to me like it's sacred, nor has it even been with the state of religion in current times. 2) The institution of marriage is already far beyond reproach. Barely any Christians follow the bibles teachings, and seem to follow only the bits that are fitting, or less intrusive on that persons life. 3) Laws exist to stop things like that happening. Being homosexual is not a crime, as much as many people who live, seem to believe it is. 4) I fail to see how this is a problem. Two father figures can be good, a mother figure becoming absent I image would only be negative if the situation where you were used to a mother was to occur. If you are born and rasied with two father figures from a very young age, surely it would slowly set in to the child of the said situation. (Correct me on that one, not much of a family person here) 5) So, correct me if wrong, but you are worried that your "Normal" way of life, would suddenly cease and be intruded into by gays? I'm not sure what you are trying to say here. Gay culture if you want to call it that. Is different, but no different to going from One continent to another. People and groups of people are different, get over it. 6) So because you are gay, suddenly you are not entitled to the same things as a man with a different sexuality? You aren't allowed to portray your love to another person, simply because of different sexuality. That's just impeding upon people. Which, is wrong. And pretty stupid. They can choose not too, but you'd have to be a fickle, selfish and short sighted individual too stop them from being allowed to marry. 7) Adoption, Surrogate mothers, etc. 8) The bible also states that a women and a man should not have sex before marriage, do all christians follow that? No. Again, picking and choosing. Marriage is created by people, and thus, remains to change, by people. Religion is nothing but a scripture/log/book/fiction. However people wish to look at it. Marriage was created to fit in with the lines of religion. Human rights shouldn't be overwritten by a book. 9) Divorce, sex before marriage, and many others are also against religious teachings. It holds no weight in this debate. I could go on, but you've based your entire beliefs around a book. And seem to think that somehow that book, overpowers all human rights, and law. Which it doesn't, never should and with some luck, never ever will. You are also taught that people are born in gods image. Does that mean that you disapprove with a part of god, you are also taught to be loving and kind to your neighbors and others like yourself, and to treat others how you wish to be treated yourself. If you did follow all Christian teachings as an example. You wouldn't be treating gays in this manner, I'd like to think that if god did exist, he'd be looking down at all your narrow-minded people, and shaking his head in disbelief. Not at only the disgusting way you deem another human being unequal to yourself, but also at the corrupted sense of direction that religion has taken from it's roots, and the bad things that have stemmed from it over the many, many years.
