Perhaps it would be better if the OP told us what he uses his computer for.
So that if he answers wrong we can make fun of him more accurately.
No wonder you have a Phd!
Edit: Pretty huge dick :v:
i just use it for editing my videos and music
I use a PC for all the fun stuff like gaming and internet browsing
You can do all of those things on a Windows based computer (hurdur DaNoob) you know.
Also, why get a Mac just to edit videos and music? There are programs for Windows that can do that perfectly fine.
It was a gift why waist a gift?
Actually, they do last longer physically.
The build quality is a lot better than those regular shitty plastic market computers that break on a bad gaze, and resell value is a lot better compared to PC hardware.
^Rate disagree - do not reply
Well you see when you buy that "shitty plastic market computer" its about $200-300 as apposed to a low end mac going for twice that price. If you actually made smart investments (which I'm pretty sure that's foreign concept to you because you're supporting a mac) and spend $500-$700 you will get a very decent computer that will last you around 6 years. Never mind if you decide to go big or make a custom build, which by the way is not possible with a mac.

no but it's faster on my macintosh i paid £4000 for that speed increase okay?

why defend it then

That's from Win9x. We're talking about WinNT.
I love how you say Windows is cheaper, while Apple marks the price of their computers up %100
Why Macs are awful, a simple price comparison I made because I was bored:
The best Mac Pro money can buy:
Two 2.93GHz Intel Quad Core Xeon Processors
32GB of DDR3 Ram 1066 (8x4GB)
Raid Card
4 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0 HDD's
ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB
Two 18x Speed DVD-Rom Drives (Drives, not burners)
30" Flat Screen Monitor
Internal Wi-Fi Card
4Gb Ethernet Card
Price: $16,267.00
A PC of similar (Better) specification:
Two 3.0GHZ Intel Quad Core Xeon Processors
32GB of DDR3 Ram 1066 (8x4GB)
Raid Card
4 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0 HDD's
ATI Radeon HD 5870 1GB
Two 48x CD, 32x DVD, DVD-Rom Drives (Burners)
30" Flat Screen LG LCD Monitor (2560x1600)
Internal Wi-Fi Card
4Gb Ethernet Card
Of course, I also counted case, keyboard, mouse, speakers, motherboard, a copy of Windows Seven, AND a copy of Windows XP. The PC above is a completely working PC.
Price: $6,936.85
And of course, there's not a single thing OSX does better than Windows, they're just different. You're paying $9330.15 for the brand, which you could be spending on an even better computer, or two.
I hope a mod locks this quickly. There's no way this guy'll get out alive.
$105AUD seems pretty cheap to me.
A Mac equivalent to my PC is nearly double what I spent in 2007, and thats for 2009.
It's okay, OP. Let's forget these guys and go play TF2 or start a 3Ds max project together or import files from an average camera using built-in software or one of the many other things I enjoy on my PC. Wait a second...

Also Win7 is pretty cheap when you look at the fact SL is only $30 for a Leopard to Snow Leopard upgrade and it's over $100 otherwise. Ignoring the technicalities.

7 is great but it didnt do anything more for me than Vista.

Windows fanboys are yet again more annoying than mac fanboys.
Are you implying Windows doesn't do everything you just said?
Cause if you are, you're an idiot.
No, I was implying his Mac doesn't.
I like my macbook but I like my windows desktop more for gaming
No, I was implying his Mac doesn't.
Yeah, I just re-read your post.
Sorry.

No where as near as annoying as the *NIX fanboys and their stuckup elitism.
Haha oh god, I used to know the OP on steam.

Cheap hardware and awesome software. The best of the Mac and Windows worlds combined respectively.

At least they are right.

And who are you know?

You can't have that in *NIX because the best in the Windows world is just how fucking easy it is. I know you know your way around everything and whatnot, however I don't know many people who'd rather piss about in the terminal, have to get restricted drivers, configuring X (good lord when will this shit be killed off) etc. As for customization, have at it.
Hey, Quarter, make a modest rig that can max TF2 and then see how much cash you have to blow to get something equivalent on a Mac.
Thats why im a mac. Everything that has to do with Microsoft cost allot of money
You can't edit your posts without having a person quote you on it first.

Stop this "I'm a Mac" shit. You use a Mac. You are not a Mac. If you were a Mac, you would not be able to talk about it.
Also games

Take it down a notch tough guy, I am not defending anything, just saying that Macs are well constructed, and have a good resell value. Didn't say that they are the best value for money.
