PS4 digital game prices revealed for UK (Hint: it ain't good)

hint for EA games, I know BF4 will be $30 for the amazon black friday sale (on pc for sure, not sure about console versions but I'd bet 360/ps3 copies would be part), you can upgrade an old generation copy to new gen for $10 after that
I hope the £62.99 covers premium or something, but seriously these prices for digital copies are ridiculous
what the fuck
what the fuck
jesus christ why are games getting so expensive in the last few years, this is getting fucking ridiculous
£62 for FIFA???
Surely Sony can't be the main "say" in these prices, that's just ridiculous. Makes me glad that I'm getting BF4 for Xbox One instead of PS4, though.
These are EA games :| Maybe some Xbox favoritism going on?
what the fuck publishers
Gotta keep the retailers happy

MS congratulates PS4 launch, secretly pays EA to increase prices on PS4
As expensive as over here then, kinda justified :v:
This is why console manufacturers are wanting to go digital only, so they can charge up the arse for games and it's a closed platform so you can't simply go elsewhere.
Welcome to the club, over here I pay more than double the price for anything
Only in some countries; in Brazil we pay nearly 15% less than in the US because it's not a straight monetary conversion
I assume the reason for this is that you can't protect a market that doesn't exist (retail PC games) unlike consoles, who inflate the prices to shit, plus tax and console digital distribution is forced to play along with it
I have to grit my teeth whenever I buy a console game because it's so much more expensive than PC, unless I import and even then there's the high risk of import tax (60%) on it
I know in the PC market, you can easily buy keys in really cheap areas and unlock the games from there.
I understand console being more difficult to do that though.
i'm sticking with ps2
no idea why people would even consider newer releases on the ps store or wherever anyway, would be great if the prices were reasonable but afaik they never have been for example
fifa 14 on the ps store was £60
picked my copy up in for £35
gta 5 on the ps store was £50
picked up my copy for £30
same goes for pretty much every game i've bought, just isn't worth paying nearly double for a digital copy unless the prices ever get reasonable even then i would prefer discs anyway tbh
That would be considered "ON SALE!!!" in Australia
I legitimately feel bad for Europeans. I'm not even willing to pay $60 for a game. Paying the equivalent of $100 is fucking outrageous.
Well my decision to not buy any of the new consoles is pretty much set in stone, most of my friends have already switched to PC/stopped playing video games as well because they all got sick of paying £40-50 for games when i was buying them for half the price.
No packaging..
No extra import costs..
No discs..
And still nearly 2x the cost of the retail price. :v:
Glad I'm holding off buying a PS4 for at least a year. Maybe they'll smarten the fuck up with their online prices by then.
i can buy another used ps2 with one of the price tags
$50 for fucking angry birds?
I could fill my gas tank with that. Twice
Well they can fuck off if they think I'm paying anywhere near that amount.
Sony requires all physical psvita games to have a digital version that costs less (usually it's $40 retail $35 download)
Why did Sony not do this for the ps4?

think of all the friends' houses you wouldn't have to drive to if you're the kind of person that drops $50 on angry birds for the ps4
MMMMMmmmmmmmmh I love the smell of nextgen

And people are surprised Europeans pirate even more than Americans.
It's not as bad with PC but still pretty damn bad and even Steam shafts us, so yeah!

We earn less and get charged more, not entirely sure how they can justify these prices really.
Wow, I feel bad for you British folk.
Now I know how the Australian's feel
And this is why i am sticking on the PC. Waaaay lower prices.
Though i would buy a PS4 for Knack though. And GT6.
Chipped PS2 that can play any disc master race.
Holy fuck, I damn hope this is some sick joke.

This is the main reason the prices are as high as they are. If they went with lower prices, retailers might just not stock anything related to those systems...Although, I'm surprised that some are priced higher than physical though.
