And yet nobody is forcing you to buy the extra content, nor does the DLC act as a requirement to completing the game! Go figure.
Yay, yet another game they're holding back on content that could be in the final product just so they can suck extra money off the consumers. [editline]02:44AM[/editline] I don't mean "They're" as in gearbox only.
Before this DLC was announced you probably loved this game "boohoo, now that they have announced DLC I think I'll hate this game"
Not much of a big deal really, it's kinda like an extra side mission/arc than a necessary story element. As long as it isn't released at the same time as the game (maybe a month or two after release to give it life), possible buy as it sounds like fun.

I wonder how it works with co-op. Crackdown style or Saints Row 2. I don't remember Crackdown's much, something like it lets the people that don't have it use it, or disables it for the person that owns it. Or SR2's where you can't play with other people at all if they don't have it.
So anyone who doesn't share your opinion on video games must be years younger than you?
Or you could just not buy the DLC instead of trying to start a shit storm like you usualy do :).
making dlc while making the game really is a dick move
Agree so much. At least pretend you started after the game was released. The whole DLC thing is stupid, at least when you have to pay for it. Everyone should do like Valve.

Not saying it should all be free, but at least design DLC around the community and use it to improve and build upon the core game rather than add for adding's sake. [editline]08:30PM[/editline] I know DLC is optional, like MANY of you have pointed out in this thread, but developing it during the core game's development and releasing it as extra paid content right after the core game comes out still isn't the greatest way of going about things. It's clearly a scheme put in place just to make extra money, and more and more developers/publishers are picking up on it. Video games are expensive at it is, and any extras I have to pay for should be created and sold AFTER the main game is released, not sectioned off as extra content predisposed to be paid content. Imagine if this content already came on the game disc but was locked and forced you to pay real money to unlock it. It's the same thing; it's part of the game that was put aside to be paid for. It's not wrong from a business standpoint, but it's certainly annoying to the customer.
DLC exists to kill the trade-in market, pure and simple. That said, you're tied to Steam, so they'd probably get more sales if they just gave it away with the Steam version for free.
