fuk da japs, thats what u get you slanty-eyed, bonzai-charging, bushido faggots. no way u ain't suicide bombing my naval ships no more, thats what u fucking get you backwards dicks us westerners gave u all of your technology and modernization, fuck yeah Meiji Restoration! fuck off japs, i hope a 10.0'r hits you and brings you to hell for good. (User was banned for this post ("Racism/trolling" - Starpluck))
Jesus fucking christ. Last time I ever play Half Life.
Now there's been another earthquake, 6.0 magnitude, off the coast of Fukushima.
Source?
Well, I just heard it on the news just now. I doubt that he would lie about somthing like this.
How do you think they cooled it down in the first place?
They have a closed system of dense water being pumped through heat exchangers, not a drop leaving the system. Flooding it with sea water is basically just covering it up for the moment and just cools it down for a short time since the chain reaction can not be stopped in this state. The flooding cools it down as the water temperature is stabel. But as their cooling systems are not working the temperature will rise again within the next few hours unless they constantly keep pumping fresh water in but that would mean the used water is flushed into the ocean and I'm betting 10 bux they are doing that right now since there really is no way the public could notice this. That creates good PR.

BBC also reporting that 1330: A magnitude 6 earthquake hit Fukushima at 2215 (1315GMT) on Saturday, Japan's NHK reports. Aftershock?
Yea but flushing out high temerature radiated water into the ocean isn't such a good idea either. Mind this is my speculation uppon hearing that they are using sea water now.

Holy shit, as I said in the other news thread this will probably turn as worse as Chernobyl if all that radiation is released with the smoke
Yea but flushing out high temerature radiated water into the ocean isn't such a good idea either. Mind this is my speculation uppon hearing that they are using sea water now.
If its just water being used in the cooling system it should be fine (I am not an expert obviously). A nuclear plant in the UK pumps sea water through its cooling system and chucks it back out at a cool 25'c with no more radiation than it had when it went into the cooling system. Although that is a power station operating normally.
fuck, FP told me everything was ok, "nah dw guys japan is a developed country, they now what theyre doing"
fuck, FP told me everything was ok, "nah dw guys japan is a developed country, they now what theyre doing"
Everything will be allright, guys.
1349: A team from the National Institute of Radiological Sciences has been despatched to Fukushima as a precaution, reports NHK. It is reportedly made up of doctors, nurses and other individuals with expertise in dealing with radiation exposure, and has been taken by helicopter to a base 5km from the nuclear plant. I think you might not get this right. They first had a problems running the pumps of the coolant, meaning the heat exchangers can't be used and so temperature in the reactor rises, as does the preassure. Now since there have been no news of a fixed cooling system but rather of "sea water being used now" this only leaves one speculative option open: sea water being directly applied to the reactor. The water you are talking about, Jsm, is water that is used AFTER the heat exchangers. Water that never touches the reactor at all. But since the cooling system is not reported as fixed, this can't be the case.

I honestly don't know. I only had the principles of nuclear plants in particle physics, not the technical feratures.
Pressure's dropping. It's fine guys.
wtf is going on in your new avatar
wtf is going on in your new avatar
It's a dancing bear.

I am hoping they either know what they are doing and its safe or it really the last resort. OH SHIT! This is going really bad for Japan
Get out of here japanese.
This is going to be really bad for Nuclear Power :/
Well on the bright side, a nuclear generator melt down is not the same as a real nuclear bomb
Fukuoka
Say hi to my sister when she moves there
This is going to be really bad for Nuclear Power :/
Yeah people will use a exuse that nuclear power is bad, when a 40year old plant fucks up after a damn earthquake. It's pretty much the old left overs that constantly needs cooling. Or it will start a meltdown. This is however noway near Chernobyl levels though.
Ah shit.
Thats fucked. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=eb3_1299921516 That can't really be good.
Oh, crap. I need to move to Toronto soon.
