Because those 20~ people on facebook represent the opinions of the entire country?
You can use that argument all you like, and even though anecdotal evidence isn't any real evidence at all, a large portion of Americans I come in contact with either through work or other channels are in fact at that level of intelligence.
Either Americans are really stupid, or not forgiving. Because obviously nuking their country wasn't big enough payback. [editline]12th March 2011[/editline] And I'm an American, I feel sorry to be in this new generation, it's pathetic.
It's because of all the patriotic bullshit that gets drilled into them while they're at school. It's one of the reasons why I despise patriotism.
oh no not japan now where will everyone get their tentacle rape porn
Hopefully if the radiation cannot be contained we'll have an entire island of tentacle mounted Japanese.
Hopefully if the radiation cannot be contained we'll have an entire island of tentacle mounted Japanese.
Tentacle mounted Japanese :raise:
The reactor won't explode. Immense amounts of radioactive particles will not spew into the atmosphere. The west coast of the United States will be perfectly fine. Japan will prevail in the nuclear energy frontier. Now calm the fuck down and quit worrying because everything is going to be okay.
I haven't looked around much but I haven't heard anything new about the plant in a while and I can't tell if that is good or bad.
I'm going to post my findings in the other thread as this one has turned into a bash thread.

[editline]12th March 2011[/editline]
I'm going to post my findings in the other thread as this one has turned into a bash thread.
Then why even post here? Couldn't you have just posted it in both threads, when you were first posting here anyways?
Like I said in the other thread, fucking wonderful. More bad undeserved rap for nuclear reactors. Fucking anti-nuke campaigners are going to latch onto this with a death grip.
I don't even know why there is three different threads, why the hell couldn't we stick with just one? Now I have to have all three open and refresh all of them to make sure I don't miss out on any news.
Pressure's dropping. It's fine guys.
I want to believe this so much. Back on topic: 1739: More from that unidentified official at Japan's Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency on rating the incident at the Fukushima nuclear plant on the IAEA scale of 0-7: "Right now we are considering the accident should be rated four. The rating may be changed in accordance with the development of the condition." 4 doesn't seem to bad, but this scale is useless unless there are examples of other accidents and where they place on the scale.

A 4-scale accident happened in Japan in 1999. Three Mile Island is considered a 5, Chernobyl is a 7.
4 is fatal exposure to radiation for the workers. A 4-scale accident happened in Japan in 1999. Three Mile Island is considered a 5, Chernobyl is a 7.
I suppose the good news from that is that according to the IAEA website 4 is only local consequences.
Japan has had enough local consequences. I would hate to be in Japan right now. I suppose it's a good thing that a friend of mine in the Marines hadn't been stationed there yet. He was supposed to be leaving relatively soon.
Just been at work for six hours. Did it get any worse?
