And difficult to store, and solves no problems because you still need to burn fossil fuels to make a decent amount of it. Molten salt thorium reactors, anyone?
If it's no different than if he said "best wishes to everyone in Japan", then why are you making a motherfucking fuss about it?
He isn't making a fuss.
He isn't making a fuss.
Sorry, I forgot that it was johan who started this and not zeke, and posted before I checked.
I predict in the coming days Alex Jones ranting that the earthquake was a result of some government-funded black ops-operated superweapon and Pat Robertson claiming it was an act of God's wrath upon the Japanese due to their idolatry and heresy. :colbert:
What exactly do these protesters want? Some kind of fucking miracle fuel that doesn't produce greenhouse gases but is also not dangerous? Wind, solar and hydro power plants only work under certain conditions so they're no use, the only real green power at the moment is nuclear power until they can figure a way of making fusion power efficient.
Biogas seems to be on the rise. Currently they're mostly using grain or corn, but it works with virtually any agricultural waste. They just reported a second reactor at the plant is having trouble cooling.
They just reported a second reactor at the plant is having trouble cooling.
Aw ffs I thought we were done with this now.
Oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck. This is BAD.
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/5ZGkQ.jpg[/img_thumb]
He's got a point.
It's so weird, for some reason this whole thing reminds me of one of the ridiculous scenarios in Simcity 2000. Actually it's more like 2 mixed together, I know there was one with an earthquake/flooding and another with a nuclear meltdown.
Which planet are you moving too.
The Netherlands
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/5ZGkQ.jpg[/img_thumb]
That sneaky China...
I predict in the coming days Alex Jones ranting that the earthquake was a result of some government-funded black ops-operated superweapon and Pat Robertson claiming it was an act of God's wrath upon the Japanese due to their idolatry and heresy. :colbert:
because alex jones is like that :colbert:
The Netherlands
We have earthquakes, they're just not caused by faultlines but by natural gas moving around in the north.
The Netherlands
It's all fun and games here until one snowflake drops. When one snowflake drops, the whole road and rail network just stops, because the government won't do shit about the snow.

I really hope my friends in Tokyo are okay :ohdear: I hate not being able to do something :saddowns:
That still produces CO2, which the ecofreaks will complain about.
i don't think wanting to reduce carbon emissions makes you an "ecofreak" [editline]12th March 2011[/editline]
They just reported a second reactor at the plant is having trouble cooling.
who just reported?
That still produces CO2, which the ecofreaks will complain about.
It reduces methane if it runs on waste, so it should balance out. You're right on the miracle fuel though: We have now fuel with 10% bio-ethanol at the gas station, but even Greenpeace hates it because its climate impact is probably even worse than that of normal fuel. At least no-one buys it because it can corrode the engine.

I for one wouldn't mind the extra traffic. Japanese people looking for a new home come on over to California.
i don't think wanting to reduce carbon emissions makes you an "ecofreak" [editline]12th March 2011[/editline] who just reported?
No, it's the fact they keep denying effectively CO2 free forms of power such as nuclear power on some idiotic idea that it's dangerous just because chernobyl blew up.
It's too cheesy
Perhaps for you. For me, the sound of those synths strike fear of decay and ruin into my heart.
i'm really glad that the reactor leak wasn't as bad as people were saying it could have been if lethal levels of radiation made it to the western united states. the mass exodus to the east on top of the millions of causalities would crush the US. not to mention the problems Japan would have as well as Mexico and Canada.
Cooling for reactor #3 has just failed, going the path that #1 did.
Cooling for reactor #3 has just failed, going the path that #1 did.
Nonono stop it damn it fucking reactors stop failing.
