Temperature here goes from -30*C in the winter to up to 45*C in the sun in the summer and nobody even has time to give a shit about it.
wimps, it hit -3C in texas a few days ago. No one did anything, or said anything besides "Its cold"
You guys are all such wimps it's way colder in X place where I live.
Are you kidding me? It's fucking freezing in Z Place.
People, the reason Vancouverites are making a big deal of this is because they aren't used to this kind of weather. It rains non-stop in Vancouver.
[sp]Although I still think they're pansies.[/sp]
-12C here tonight, get over yourselves.
Pfft. It was recently -34,7C in Finland.
You guys are such whimps is much colder in Russia place where I live
-20c In Sweden the day before yesterday. Grow some snowballs.
Thats it? At night it goes down to -30c and during the day -24c, welcome to Ontario
It's called conditioning. It's pretty damn cold for the Northwest, as we aren't used to it. Our weather is much milder than, say Maine, or Wisconsin. The coldest I've EVER seen here in southern Vancouver(the real one god damn it) is like 14f or -10c.
Gee even in some places here in Australia it drops that low and no one cares.
And some of those places (like Canberra) the temperature in summer time usually goes a fair bit above 30c.
Wow! They should all try living in Winnipeg for one day in January and see who survives. It regularly gets to -30 C then.
Its just as bad in Alberta
Vancouver really can't handle snow.
I remember a few years back like there was like 1cm of snowfall in Victoria and they shut down all schools as a snowday.
It was -50C in Russia recently.

It's pretty much the same here in Southwest Washington/PDX area. :v:

Yeah but that killed like 180 people.
That's nothing in North Dakota.~

I've heard the stories of Minot.
The weather in Finland is currently fucking with me. Last time I went outside for a long period of time, it was like -25C. Today it was suddenly +2C and it felt so fucking hot. Had to open my jacket and take off my cap and gloves etc. even though I was wearing stuff meant for that weather.
It was -5 c here in Kansas less than a week ago, it doesn't seem to be that big of a deal ever. It's been ~-30 c here before in my lifetime
The main point of the article is that they're afraid they're not going to have enough space in homeless shelters for everybody, not the weather.
-2c is like... warm. What the hell, vancouver?
its always -15 to around -6c in seoul in the winter and we don't give a shit
It gets near 10c here in California, and that's at its lowest.
Lucky motherfuckers all of you
What about places like Siberia
Yes we get it, the places you live have temperatures too
The alert activates emergency shelters city-wide as well as the Assistance to Shelter Act, enabling police to direct homeless and other at-risk individuals to shelter facilities.
That's why they did it
Yes we get it, the places you live have temperatures too

Zeeeekeee!
people still aren't reading the articles correctly
but most of vancouver is fairly weak hearted about the cold.
Yes we get it, the places you live have temperatures too
That's why they did it
Holy shit, good to see you again. You planning on staying?
Also, I'd love this kind of weather regularly. This last week is the first real time in a while that we have seen temperatures consistently near 4C/40F. And I just love cold weather.
I knew this thread would be full of people saying how it gets to -20 regularly where they live. You people also have cosy houses which are probably like 20C to post from while this article is talking about homeless people who don't have a home.
