It's nothing to do with aliens at all. You're not really missing too much though.
It gave me a good +10 fps.
There's an interesting read on the EA forums about the delays associated with this patch, but the gist is due to laziness in using the BF:Heroes updater and the huge amount of problems when this game was released, patches are becoming increasing difficult to make and getting too big.

To be honest, I've been a strong follow of the Battlefield series, and every patch I'm losing more faith in DICE. This latest one for example, even with repeated trips to Q&A they either missed or ignored the fact that the new chat box causes the left side of the screen to have a blue tinge when it's not expanded.
What happened to our acog/dot sights for the G3/M14/M1? They have that on consoles now :smith:.

Finally.
The MG3 now lives up to it's previous generation's expectations.
It's a mass slaughter.
finally
i might not lag no more
Yay.

... First off, there is no alien tech at all.
And if that would be enough to stop you from playing... What the hell? I don't understand people like you.

They were intentionally removed cuz they would be too overpowered on pc.
HUGE PATCH! Finally :D
Ooh, I wonder if they fixed my random black screen, invisible rubble, and flickering textures.

Excellent read, gave me an insight to effort and time in a patch in BFBC2
Terrific, I must try flying a heliciopter again
