Caffeine Consumption Slows Down Brain Development, Rat Study Shows

I recently switched to Decaf due to this study and it tastes a lot more watery. Is that always the case with Decaf or do I need a new brand? I can get it to taste like coffee by heavily minimizing the creamer I put into it.

I'm sorry.
Humans have been drinking coffee for 600 years while rats have not. I think there's a difference in caffeine tolerance here.
That's...not how that works at all.
i love the taste of black coffee are you kidding
All I drink is milk.
More than a gallon a day most days.
The fact that 39 people have agreed to that post about 600 years of Caffeine is really, really fucking funny.
15 minutes of homework, I'd kill for that.
Roughly 5-6 hours of homework a night for me. I guess that's the price I pay for taking college level courses in highschool.
Even then I cut out sports (and had to fight my parents on that) because it's too much. 5 AM getting up, 6:20 the bus arrives, get to school about 6:50, be in homeroom at 7:25, school start 7:35.
Classes all day, on a nice large campus of roughly 2400 students, get out at 2:15, get home at 3:00. So either do homework from 3-9, or wait a couple of hours to let the days stressors melt away.
Yup, totally don't need caffiene.
And a social life is a luxury whether one likes it or not.
Is this your way of saying that because you chose to be a social retard everyone else should have to as well?
Social life is not a luxury, its a necessity to good development as a person.
You realize in japan they literally have a word to define a entire generation of young men who have withdrawn from society because of the massive pressure placed on them to succeed?
You advocating everyone should just ~buckle down~ is the kind of shit that contribute to a generation like that.
There's more pressure on people to do well in education now more than ever - which sounds good on paper, but the bleed off effects are destructive both to people's lives and the way education is run. Apparently the standards that made excellent professionals some 30 years ago are no longer good enough. Personal experience is jettisoned in favor of a piece of paper saying "u r good enuf" which came from regurgitating information out of an outdated textbook.
You're supposed to be in education to learn, not pass a "how much are you willing to sacrifice" test.

How people can drink black coffee is beyond me. It's so bitter without any milk or sugar.
My brain has already wasted away enough so its not like a little caffeine will hurt it.
Good thing I quit drinking soda.
There was an article in my local paper last year that talked about a teen girl (15 or 16) who actually died by drinking seven cans of those large Monster Energy Drinks in just a few hours time. It's ridiculous how much kids ingest of that stuff.
I drank 14 of the 500ml cans of Monster in one day. They were free in the media tent at this mountain biking event I went to and filmed. I swear my stomach has never been the same since. But I looked up how many it would take to kill me at my body weight, and it was 116 cans, so I had loads of wiggle room.
I swear this was debunked on reddit. something about a tiny sample size. like ~30 rats.

missing sleep slows development, but if you account for that then coffee should have no effect on development IIRC.

Studies show too much milk will actually damage your bone structure in the long run.
Then again most studies including this one about coffee really take it to extremes and show the consequences of pure and exclusive consumption of a certain product on smaller organisms.
It's like that recent French controversial study on GMOs where a bunch of mice were fed genetically modified food all day long until they grew tumors, except it wasn't specified that said food was never intended for human consumption and was given to the mice in abnormally large doses.

Well to be fair, it IS specified in the studies.
What isn't specified is that cocksucking journalists don't actually read anything but the last sentence of abstracts and they extrapolate whatever they think is right from their usually very poor understanding of the information presented.
good thing i hate coffee

Few things.
Small sample size doesn't mean that it's wrong, just the margin for error is higher. Doesn't immediately mean it's totally wrong. Though it could mean it needs more research before a real conclusion can be drawn.
