God the ones in the article are terrible bugs. They don't stink unless you touch it. When you do, ugh, smells bad. Not like shit though, it's a strange smell. I can only imagine how bad it is if there's a lot of them. [editline]05:09AM[/editline]
if these things get into New York, I will freak the fuck out. I fucking hate bugs. hopefully the colder north will kill them before they spread too much.
Do any bugs live in NY at all? I think all that pollution would kill most of the nature?
Yeah I did notice, seen them all over the Community college, glad I know why now. Time to do my part. [editline]12:22AM[/editline]
I also go to Annapolis high, but I've yet to see a stinkbug. Guess I'm not too observant.
Holy shit bro I live less than half a mile from there.
Don't forget the ladybug infestation in (I think) California.
it's really not that bad the ladybugs help kill off the aphid infestation and ladybugs tend to fuck off if we want them too i know in some places it's really bad but they actually serve a somewhat-productive purpose instead of just making bad smells [editline]12:55PM[/editline]
-rant about hatred-
move to new zealand, they have extremely strict rules on imported things there, aka no pests. there's a lot of sheep though. i hope you don't mind sheep.

Anyone remember the huge Cicada swarm we had a few years back?
Anyone remember the huge Cicada swarm we had a few years back?
cicadas are actually really plentiful in Taiwan. despite their noise, i don't mind them all that much
I live in delaware and I can't go outside without one landing on my head. I took my dog to the park and they kept buzzing me so I decided to fuck the park and got back to the car and i forgot i left my windows down and they were SWARMING inside my car! it's they they go where we want them the least! i hate these fuckers so much SO SO SO MUCH!
Haha we had this last year in California. Now you get it, fucker!
Annoying as fuck here in Tennessee
My cat just pounced one in my house, I haven't smelled anything yet, hopefully it doesn't start sticking the house up
There were a ton of these in the school bus on the ride back today. We opened the windows just to let more fly in. montgomery county here
I just destroyed one with my pellet gun.
The biggest bug invasion here in the UK from what I can remember, these things the problem was they look like wasps that's pretty much it. But from the looks of things in this thread, you Americans have it bad with your insect invasions. I mean I looked at a picture of the Stinkbug, I could never live with that; I'd move away as fast as I could (provided the cold doesn't kill them first)

And the grey squirrels are killing off scottish red squirrels
Now that it's getting colder the stink bug wants to come inside and get warm and cozy.
aww
We had thousands of potato beetles a few years back when I was a kid. We played a game where we had to squish one with every step (on the street). It was extremely easy. I'm so happy we only get 1-2 extremely huge I-don't-know-whats in the house every day. Thankfully they are so stupid they always sit down and can easily be removed with a vacuum.
They're fucking everywhere here in Northeast Ohio too D:
Well that stinks.
Fuckers are everywhere in my house. Anyways, you can get rid of them by: 1. Smash one in an open jar. 2. The pheromones attract others into the jar. 3. When there's a lot of them inside, close the jar. 4. Put in freezer and let them die. Makes a great ice cream topping as well. [sp]Stinkbugs die in cold temperatures. They should be gone in the winter.[/sp] [editline]07:39AM[/editline] I'm in Pennsylvania btw.

These things are everywhere by me also. I've started shooting them with my airsoft guns. :v:
Anyone remember the huge Cicada swarm we had a few years back?
Every 14 years they come around.
Every 14 years they come around.
It's 17 years. and i remember that. I hated it, but i loved throwing stinks into trees and watching them flying everywhere and make that creepy noise.
They only smell bad when you crush them or piss them off.
Will they smell bad if you just piss on them instead of pissing them off?
Do any bugs live in NY at all? I think all that pollution would kill most of the nature?
New York City =/= New York State. outside of NYC, and especially upstate near the Great Lakes (like around Syracuse), nature and large forests are a common sight. hell, Syracuse itself is home to one of the leading Environmental Science centers in the country, SUNY ESF (State University of New York college of Environmental Science and Forestry, where I spent a year in before dropping out, coincidentally.).
I've got a lot of these in my house in VA, I see 3 from just were I am sitting. Then five plus on the windows. Damn things are everywhere.
I amend my post earlier - I've seen two in the past day. Seems like they're coming, slowly but surely. I'm a little northeast of Baltimore, so I don't think I'm north enough to have the biggest problem. Yet.
These little guys survive up to several years. They're not really that pesky, but I am getting kind of tired seeing them on my walls. They also make really loud noises when they fly, a lot like beetles.
Suck to be you guys, all we have in Australia is the top 10 most deadly insects and snakes ever. Wait a minute.
Southern Maryland? I'm already seeing more then usual in mid eastern Virginia.
