I'm actually feeling pretty sound and confident in my opinions after this debate so far. Got any more zingers for me? If anybody is showing their true colours tonight it's Remain. It's painstakingly obvious from the moment Sadiq retorted to Boris with cheap insults haha.
I'm not even watching the debate so I've got no idea who's saying what to be honest. I'd still be very fucking cautious of worshipping Boris as some saint though, the guy is hardly as nice a guy as he puts across. This is a power play for him and little else.
oh shit remain getting smashed
i'll be quite happy with the result because my life is pretty much going to be directly tied to the whole free movement thing the EU has going on. It makes things so much easier for me.
The freedom of movement Meme is such a lame argument for staying in
sell to 500m people or 6.5b people? i know what i'd do
80% of the world's economy is not in the single market but we need the single market... [editline]21st June 2016[/editline] "we cannot export haggis to america" even the lady for remain loved it :v:
I'm just here for Boris v Sadiq and Boris v Ruth
I'm just here for Boris v Sadiq and Boris v Ruth
"It's not the Boris show" :v:
Poor Tim Farron has to sit at the kids table, RIP Lib Dems
There goes the Remain vote. "David Cameron deserves credit for what he's done" BOOOOOOO from everywhere [editline]21st June 2016[/editline] There's a fly buzzing around him hahaha, it smells the bullshit
Poor Tim Farron has to sit at the kids table, RIP Lib Dems
I don't think they're ever going to recover in my lifetime at least. And that's a shame, because the closest thing to them is the Greens. And eughhh...the greeeeennssss. They seem to be having a hard time getting Boris to stop. Which I'm not surprised about, but you don't see that all too often in debates here.

"You took a donation from a former guy from the BNP" what the fuck is she doing rightfully that comment is getting slammed down
Oooh, always a risk to talk donors.
"You took a donation from a former guy from the BNP" what the fuck is she doing rightfully that comment is getting slammed down
I'm for remain, and that was an embarrassment.
Remain getting btfo
Good lord, Boris is essentially Trumping it up right now. That quick little shout of "take back control". Sit down, it's not your turn yet. I'm also unsure why they are talking about the Schengen Area, that thing we aren't actually a part of, and that not being a part of allows us to turn people away from entering the country. But whatever. People might be able to roam the continent itself freely, but once they hit our borders it's pretty much up to us.
Why are they calling the EU's negotiations with Turkey a lie? What the hell holy shit I'm sorry to all that want to remain.
I like this moderator. Why can't the US debates have moderators who actually tell the crowd to shut it. [editline]21st June 2016[/editline]
Why are they calling the EU's negotiations with Turkey a lie? What the hell holy shit I'm sorry to all that want to remain.
I don't remember them calling it a "lie". Merely pointing out that they aren't getting in, and that Leave are exaggerating the current status of their application. Turkey are in no fit state to join, and very few member states actually want them in. Their application would likely be vetoed if they were in a state to join right now from what I understand of the debates. My attention is somewhat divided, but I cannot remember anyone saying the entire application is a "lie".

They are speaking on the contrary to actual government policy. It's all fallacy. The government's actions speak for themselves.
Sadiq Kahn interjected "That is a lie" I don't see what is more clear than that.
Was Boris or whoever talking about Turkey joining the EU right now (or in the near future?) because that is in fact a lie. They just aren't remotely close to having a valid application. Let alone joining. I'd hop on to iPlayer and roll it back a bit, but my parents Internet connection is super fucking shit and I wish I wasn't dogsitting on this trash.
"If we leave we will crash the economy" yeah [editline]21st June 2016[/editline]
Was Boris or whoever talking about Turkey joining the EU right now (or in the near future?) because that is in fact a lie. They are though :/
didn't the eu give 2-3 billion to turkey and are trying for visa-free travel, IMO one step closer to joining the EU for them
didn't the eu give 2-3 billion to turkey and are trying for visa-free travel, IMO one step closer to joining the EU for them
Well yeah but they've still got like a thousand steps to go lol Almost none of the EU member states want them in in their current state
Any non-bbc streaming source?
didn't the eu give 2-3 billion to turkey and are trying for visa-free travel, IMO one step closer to joining the EU for them
yeah, exactly. their point then "will you reduce numbers?" for some reason the lady fumbled around the answer a bit but her point was that if the numbers are under our control, we can reduce them or increase them at our logical choosing. we cannot at the moment.
He interjected when he said that the EU is currently undergoing negotiations for visa-free travel with Turkey. They are though :/
Well if they are nowhere near capable of actually joining the EU, I'd hardly say they were "undergoing negotiations". At least not in any active manner that actually means anything. Some things are definitely classified as "under negotiation", but I don't think they've actually made progress in a few years at least. I'm also hearing a lot of non-committal nonsense coming out of whoever that was. Come on dude, if you're on the panel and you clearly have strong enough opinions on how "rotting" a carcass the EU is, surely you should know what you want to say rather than stumbling over yourself until the mic-lady gives up.
she's quick to cut of leave talkers and rush them. just noticed she talked to remain 3 times and leave 2 times, how's that fair?

It's just not really not a clutch at all to say they are under negotiations with Turkey, and it's already at your expense.
I've never got the fear of this so-called "USE", we can just veto fucking everything if we so please. And I'm sure a number of EU members would also happily veto such a measure. Because christ, we have obligations already with NATO, trying to merge our armies and shit isn't going to go down well with the members that actually have functional armies.
