it just baffles me how people can believe anything that comes out boris' mouth, he's worse than a bumbling cunt, he's a dangerous bumbling cunt. daily reminder that boris thought it was a good idea for turkey to join the eu he loved with such a fervor until so very recently
I cannot for the life of me understand why people trust Boris more than Cameron. People often accuse Cameron of being unprincipled and so on. I would argue that Cameron is certainly willing to shift his position for political gain, but does have good intentions and seeks good for Britain - it would be more accurate to describe him as not being ideological. Indeed, this is often his greatest strength. Boris, on the other hand, shifts positions in order to secure personal advancement. I think this is quite different to what Cameron does and I strongly dislike it. I will vote for whatever candidate stands against Boris in a future Conservative leadership election, even (through gritted teeth) for Gideon.
Some dude just picked his nose on TV
Fuck Boris, he's a narcissist and a liar. He doesn't believe what he is saying, unlike all of the other people in the Leave campaign, who believe it. That does matter to me. In terms of the debate judgements, as far as I can tell everyone thinks their own side won. Reading over the debate in the Guardian livefeed, the questions about 'Britain's Place in the World' Remain were much better whilst on Immigration Leave obviously won, with the others being more balanced.
I think the crowd's reaction after the summing up tells the story of who won overall tonight.
I cannot for the life of me understand why people trust Boris more than Cameron.
Well he's just one of the lads aint eee. weyyyhayyy!!! Much like Farage, it's a cult of personality around an genuinely awful person. People refuse to acknowledge the dude is a fucking menace of a politician who changes opinions constantly and has supported removal of a lot of things we deem quite important to our working class. He played the part of "bumbling fool" during his mayoral time because honestly who gives a fuck about mayors? It's nowhere near as vital a role as his actual aspirations. And it gave him plenty of time to fuck around doing stuff for publicity. Politicians should not every be treated like celebrities or worshipped in this way.

Boris came across as very genuine tonight, hence the crowd reaction.
I don't have time to watch the trillionth debate on the EU just around my A-Level exams so I'm keeping up with it in the most efficient way I can.
Regardless, quoting others opinions is wrong, it's not relevant.
See this is something i think remain really has failed to grasp, average joe does not give a flying fuck about freedom of travel across europe because they don't use it. A friend of mine's opinion of it is thus, and in the group he said it too they all fucking agreed. "Mangers and executives going on jollies to the mainland on the company payroll to swanky hotels with first class catering. While the rank and file slave away doing the menial work, fuck em." Remain should not be saying we'll freedom of travel, it should be saying why losing it would/ could be a bad thing for average joe, and it should stick to that.
Well we do use it...for holiday and trade. Sure, most people aren't jetting off constantly, because that is still pretty expensive thanks to travel alone. But it's something we as a country use, and ignoring that factor is just ignorant. I agree though, Remain should have focused more on how losing it would impact us rather than how it wouldn't be lost. Having to apply for visas, paying any extra fees needed and needing a visa for any country you try to move around in once you're in the EU would really increase the costs of holidays, lessening how many a working class citizen could take even more.
drink whenever you hear "take back control"
Hah! She did love that bloody phrase
drink whenever you hear "take back control"
I'd be banned for PUI if I did that.
Yes, he certainly threw out.... 'facts'
Oh sorry I forgot facts were only facts when they cater to your agenda.
People respond to charisma. We should be responding to facts. Not fucking personalities
genuine ˈdʒɛnjʊɪn/Submit adjective truly what something is said to be; authentic. "genuine 24-carat gold" synonyms: authentic, real, actual, original, pukka, bona fide, true, veritable, unfeigned, unadulterated, unalloyed; More (of a person, emotion, or action) sincere. "a genuine attempt to put things right" I wasn't fucking talking about personality.
The similarities between the Leave supporters and Trump supporters are unsettling.
The similarities between the Leave supporters and Trump supporters are unsettling.
Explain please
Sadiq Khan was your representative tonight, Remain. Most of the country just saw the Remain side crumble and the crowd ignited by our passion to actually fix this country instead of putting money into Juncker's pockets for a blatant promise of more of the same.
I wasn't surprised to hear the word xenophobic from the remain side.
Explain please
Because we're demonised by the mass media as being a bunch of rambling uninformed xenophobes, of course!
Oh sorry I forgot facts were only facts when they cater to your agenda.
You're guilty of this exact same thought processes dude. Don't get high and mighty about people calling Boris out over his constant nattering on about nothing. I noticed a lot of generally underhanded debate tactics coming from him. A lot of diversions and redirections, the moderator had to actually ask him to answer several questions more than once because he kept diverting. Stream of conciousness is not something you want when you're dealing with facts, what you want are the actual facts and a concise argument that gets the most across as clearly as possible. Otherwise you just get "facts". Like that 60% bullshit. "OH MAN YOUR SIDE GOT FUCKING RECKED NO QUESTION AHAHA LOOK AT US GOLDEN GODS TRYING TO FIX IT AND UNITING!!" Despite the polls currently being fairly even in numerous places.
The similarities between the Leave supporters and Trump supporters are unsettling.
Are you suggesting that every single leave supporter is the same? Really?

You really give off the impression that those who hold alternate views to yours are just inferior, or outdated and brand us all with the same brush. You also assume we have the worst intentions, which is one of the most frustrating elements of it all.

I thought it was fairly even but boris' summing up edged Remain's.

I do remember posting a few things along the lines of "damn the leave campaign seems to have some questionable shit going down", but I can't say I've lorded it over the heads of Leave supporters like I'm some form of ubermensch. Two hours would be more than enough time to say a lot of actually hard hitting things about the EU, but I don't remember a single one myself. Boris spent a lot of it redirecting to questions he'd prefer to answer before being told to answer the original question or shut it. Honestly, it was a poor show from both sides in a few ways. Boris kept redirecting, that louder woman in Remain had a habit of interrupting, I'm not entirely sure what Kahns endgame was, and Christ knows if that woman in Leave knew any other words than "take back control".
america electing trump uk leaving the eu what's with english speaking people and shooting themselves in the foot

Ask yourself why you don't remember a single one from the candidate you're slating to high heaven. What a shit debate, pretty much both sides making up bollocks. Although Boris was by far the worst just falling back on patriotism for most of his nonsense.
america electing trump uk leaving the eu what's with english speaking people and shooting themselves in the foot
a bit of pot calling the kettle black here?
