If you would let your child do this, I pray you will never have any.
I have no idea, why doctors in Britain would even do this in first place.
I think if someone has realised at that age then it is more likely they are serious than someone who has made the decision during adolescence

hes only 12 he should at least be 16
what a faggot.

i'm p. sure sex changes are expensive
so they prolly did it for the monies
better than living your whole life in the wrong body / growing up and wanting to change the whole time
I can understand that but his judgment simply isn't good at that age. And he needs his sex orgrans in order to have a stable puburity. When you have a sex change, the organs your recieve of the opposite sex don't actually work, which is a crucial part in young kid growing up.
And I've heard a sad tale about one person who felt he was in the wrong body his whole life, had a sex change, and regretted it, because it does more than make you female, it really makes you realize who you are and hate yourself for it. It does so much to your mind it's not even funny. Now at a younger age where thier life hasn't really developed as much it might not do it as bad, but it's still a terrible idea to do it right when puburity hits.
Although I personally don't see much wrong with sex-change, I feel that it is highly unwise for a child the age of twelve to be permitted to go through the process due to the sheer fact that he is nothing more than a child who should not be deemed mentally fit to make such a decision.
i am aware you posted that video good sir i was simply agreeing with you
i forgot to quote it :(
Alright sorry here have a frog on a unicycle
The kid swam in a bikini? What the hell.
Couldn't they just have given the child hormone suppressors? They'd delay the onset of puberty until the child become of age, and then the child can make an informed decision, either opting for sex surgery or going through puberty?
Still, it must be tough for someone born as the wrong gender.

Trannies.
Well I did find this topic on another news site although I've personally never heard of this site before. However looks like The Sun did get their grimy hands all over the story before anyone else could get near it. Now all there's left is to find out if the kid is a furry
he hasn't been beat enough obviously

And gay
That kid's pretty damn brave.
not really
Oh man, I could not think of a worse way for the school system to handle this. It's like they deliberately chose to make what should be a very personal issue into something guaranteed to cause as much controversy as possible. They turned it into a freak show. They basically threw a big school assembly for the kid and trotted her in front of the entire school and said: "See this girl? She used to be a boy. Wowee! I'm an adult and I'm telling you to be nice to her, as I'm sure no one else here at the age of 12 is going through a disorienting time in their lives. Oh yeah, and would the media please file to the left of the bleachers. We wouldn't want you blocking anyone else's view of this oddity."

That's the stupidest thing I've heard, though. If you are going to become female, at least have the decency to be graceful about it, not some frilly princess that sets back the feminist movement 50 years. I have several tranny friends, but none of them are as airheaded as that.
When did that become legal!
Since always? It was never illegal, so I'm not sure what you expected as an answer.
That's why I say require that kids wait until they're 18 before they're considered qualified to make this sort of decision. Hell, even 16 is fine, but if you think a 12-year-old knows enough about themselves sexually to make a decision as life-altering as this you belong in the loony bin. The kid's barely hit puberty if at all.
You're suggesting that the government needs to step in and say what you can and can't do with your body? How does a decision like that affect anyone else? Who is anyone to say "you aren't mature enough to understand what you want, so until you are the completely arbitrary age of 18, you are not in control of your own body."

I snickered at that.
Am I a bad person?
Only reason why doctor did it is most likely because of large sum of money. No sane person would do that to a kid without some kind of reward.

...that just ain't right.

Don't be idiotic about this.
At 12 the kid might just have wondered what it would be like to be a girl, now that kids gonna loose his stones and will sure as fuck regret it at some point.

Nur...ture?
I dunno, can you at least feel pleasure with your "new" organs?
