Wouldn't it be more effective to have people donate to have a song of their choice played over the intercom instead? Either way no one else is probably going to like the songs but it'd be more of an incentive than being tortured.
“For some of them it’s incentive to donate because they don’t want to hear it anymore.”
Hey pulling finger nails off with plyers gives people in Gitmo incentive to give up information because they don't want to experience pain anymore [editline]12th March 2014[/editline] Considering the schools in this country will expel you and send you to a secondary school as punishment for a year, hold back your diploma, not let you graduate on time, all for minor shit like missing 9 days or eating a poptart into the shape of a gun, the notion that they can do something to every student, that IS a form of no-shit torture (Though not that extreme) to get money out of them is hypocritical and absurd to the extreme
We should kick this state out of the union, and then initiate a total invasion, destroying all, after this we must send in decontamination teams, and once they leave, nuke it. Also fairly certain this has happened before.
My school once tried playing the hamster dance nonstop between passing periods for a similar charity thing. Students went to the school board and stopped it.
My high school did this during my sophomore year, and we didn't get a nice news article in SH. I'm jealous.
My high school did this EXACT same thing except with friday(and only a badly spliced together version with just the chorus) for like 2 months and we didn't get an article about it :[
They should have two pools of money, one of which decreases the amount raised toward the Beiber shutoff Gotta get that troll money
No I'm not joking. Can you imagine listening to the same song (which chances are already makes your ears bleed) every day during every hour except class time and the only way to make it stop is to give money? I don't care what you call it that is fucking criminal.
theyre not FUCKING PAYING OFF THE PRINCIPLE THEYRE DONATING ITS FUNNY you guys make fun of places like tumblr for being all social justice but holy fuck this is in some ways worse "oh my god think of the children they had to listen to a song for 5 minutes in between periods and during lunch until they raised enough money, im gonna sue you! im so offended by this check your privilege i dont want to donate a dollar to a just cause i just wanna be a little bitch"
Seems like some method from Guantanamo. Or from the third reich. Also I want to speak out tribute to Godwin..

If my highschool had tried shit like this I would have walked right into the school office and unplugged the intercom. I don't care how suspended I would have been.
you still shouldn't be forced to pay so you can enjoy the liberty of not being annoyed. doesn't really matter if its going to the principle or some random charity, its bordering on extortion.
Poor you, they should stop this immediately, we can't risk having you be annoyed over a pop song. And yeah it kinda does matter if it's for charity because charity is infinitely more important than precious you being annoyed.

they did this once at my school except they played "Bird Is The Word" by the trashmen over and over
Poor you, they should stop this immediately, we can't risk having you be annoyed over a pop song.
Heh. How would you like it if some guy followed you around playing music he knows you don't like refusing to stop until he got paid?
Heh. How would you like it if some guy followed you around playing music he knows you don't like refusing to stop until he got paid?
This is like honestly the worst argument I've ever heard, just think about what you're saying for a second.
This is like honestly the worst argument I've ever heard, just think about what you're saying for a second.
Can't tell if you're just thick or flat out trolling at this point. My ignore list grows.
You made a bad argument for how your feelings are more important than charity. I'm sure you know that harassing a single person for money is completely different to playing a pop song in a school, I shouldn't have to explain that.
Heh.
thats literally not even the same thing you really should be ashamed at how much of a sensitive pansy you are tbh, shit like this is funny
It's the exact same. The kids can't leave school and are being annoyed as a means to get them to put money into something they wouldn't otherwise want to put money into. How is it any different at all?
I don't mind a couple of people being annoyed for the sake of charity, and I do think it's a couple of people that aren't REALLY annoyed by this, they just want to complain for the sake of complaining, it's a silly little pop song. You are over reacting and you know it, I'm not sure why you're getting so angry about me pointing that out. I do genuinely think charity is more important than you being slightly annoyed on a school day, am I a bad person for thinking that?

Honestly I'd be pretty fucking mad if I was at that school, its not that I think its extortion (its just a really fucking annoying/dick way of getting people to donate) but if someone continuously played the same song over and over again in the time that I'm required to be in school I would probably go to the staff or something, and if nothing came of that, I'd just leave and refuse to attend until they stopped. Just because honestly schools shouldn't be allowed to repetitively play music on the intercom regardless if its beiber or anyone else, my old highschool used to play the shittiest pop tracks over and over and over whenever class would end, lunch would end, between classes, and at the end of the school week (When the song friday came out). They played "Clean up clean up everybody everywhere" every fucking end of lunch for three years until I left.

They shouldn't be exploiting the fact that students are (more or less) required to be at school at a given time to try and annoy/extort them into donating money to a charity. More to the point, they (the school) really shouldn't be doing something that could, in any possible way, interfere with the students ability to learn. I could care less if it's for charity or not, it isn't a fundraiser event, it's a school. As such the only object should be teaching students, not raising money.
this is golden, people called Connor are sadistic fucks, [sp]me too[/sp].
Hi Connor
My highschool something like this back in the day but with the hamster dance instead of justin bieber :v:
annoying the students isn't an incentive to donate an incentive to donate is helping a good cause if they dont wanna do it you cant force them to, this is the equivalent of a person nagging you about something over and over until you have to do it cause otherwise they wont stop the principal is taking advantage of the fact that the students have no choice but to be there and it's actually really fucking rude of him
That student president must have read The Prince or something.
A few students once raided the intercom when it was left unattended and played the ABC news remix
Lol they tried this shit once at school Shut down in 5 min cause the math teachers were all having tests at lunch
