How stupid are people? "I give my kids fast food, so it must be their fault!"
this could be Super-Size Me Pt.2 Parents suing over their own bad decisions
Wait, do any of you even have kids?
"Only in America"-lawsuit
McDonald's is known for its healthy menu.

and for making people fat
and for making people fat
It may be amusing if you read my user name out loud.
The inherent issue is that children of that age are not psychologically developed enough to be able to discern that sort of subtle differentiation; I know that myself as much as anyone else was manipulated by the adverts I saw on TV as a kid, and I don't see how I could not have been
Children's food, toy, theme park etc. advertising is like taking candy from a baby
Are children actually not developed enough to understand, or is it that parents are just sitting their kids down in front of the tv instead of parenting them and teaching them the difference?
Found this online to help teach kids the difference:
But what you can do is teach kids to be savvy consumers by talking about the products advertised on TV. Ask thought-provoking questions like, "What do you like about that?," "Do you think it's really as good as it looks in that ad?," and "Do you think that's a healthy choice?"
Explain, when kids ask for products advertised, that commercials and other ads are designed to make people want things they don't necessarily need. And these ads are often meant to make us think that these products will make us happier somehow. Talking to kids about what things are like in reality can help put things into perspective.
Most facepunchers don't have children so it won't be of much use here but it's something to keep in mind for the future.
what's up with people and responsibility these days
Yet another appearance for bad parenting and bad society.
Parents are just weak and need to stand up to their children. YOU ARE IN CONTROL. Not your child. He doesn't have a high school degree, money, a house, and car keys. YOU DO.
Don't hurt a business. Do you know how many jobs McDonald's will have to layoff is their business is slashed by x%? That x% could be their Happy Meal sales.
BTW, Happy Meals are awesome and they make me feel nostalgia getting a Disney toy. Kids won't get fat if they eat at McDonald's once a month. When I was a kid, I ate their roughly once a month and considered it as a treat.

That's my point, a lot of us are saying this shit but don't have kids. I know from experience dissuading an adult from getting their kid an M rated game is actually a lot easier than it looks. Its when the child is there that it becomes extremely difficult.

Just let the kids watch Supersize Me. That'll make them stop eating McDonald's (well, it made me)
I think this lawsuit is legit. McDonalds is terrible.
In Australia you can get a happy meal with a chicken wrap and apple slices.
I hate macdonalds food.

Never again will I eat MacDonalds 3 meals a day for a month straight lest I get sort of sick.

Who's alt are you? I want to give you a high five
Retarded lawsuit. Parents are the ones who buy children those meals. The children old enough to buy their own food don't play with toys.
Really stupid shit, IMHO. It's another "Oh, we're completely incompetent fucking parents, businesses should protect us from having to actually make decisions about the health of our kids."
You know what else were retarded lawsuits? Woman sued over hot coffee burns. Person sued because McDonalds made them fat.
of course a lawsuit like this is coming from san francisco
The toys is what made the happy meal the happy. Meal
You know what else were retarded lawsuits? Woman sued over hot coffee burns. Person sued because McDonalds made them fat.
On the first suit, supposedly it was because the coffee was REALLY hot. Like, hotter than coffee should be.
You know what else were retarded lawsuits? Woman sued over hot coffee burns. Person sued because McDonalds made them fat.
Coffee Burns:
Alright. The Coffee was absurdly, dangerously hot.
She attempted to get a large amount of money for it,but the court ended up ruling that she only got half of what was originally planned because it was about 1/2 her fault.
The obesity suits were generally thrown out because they were ridiculous.
You know what else were retarded lawsuits? Woman sued over hot coffee burns. Person sued because McDonalds made them fat.
The woman that sued them over coffee burns...I could see suing them if you bought an iced coffee to throw on yourself and it was actually hot, but she clearly bought a hot coffee, and the cup says "Caution: Hot" on the lid...
The woman that sued them over coffee burns...I could see suing them if you bought an iced coffee to throw on yourself and it was actually hot, but she clearly bought a hot coffee, and the cup says "Caution: Hot" on the lid...
A few notes.
1. The cup may or may not have read Caution: Hot at the time. That may have been added post lawsuit.
2. The coffee was absurdly hot. Considerably hotter than a coffee should be.
3. She didn't purchase it just for the sake of suing them. She bought it, was driving and tried to add sugar, and it spilled all over her. It caused fucking 3rd degree burns IIRC. No coffee should be that hot.
4. The jury ruled that it was partially her fault because of the driving part, so her settlement was less, but McDonalds was still at fault.
I hate when people try to sue companies for making them or their kids fat. It's the fault of the person buying something they KNOW is going to fatten them up.
Just let the kids watch Supersize Me. That'll make them stop eating McDonald's (well, it made me)
Supersize Me was a festering pile of dog shit masquerading as a documentary
You know what else were retarded lawsuits? Woman sued over hot coffee burns. Person sued because McDonalds made them fat.
She got third degree burns which required skin grafts, which are pretty expensive
I hate it when I see mothers buying their BABIES happy meals. Again, it's all up to the parent, but call me old-fashioned, but I don't think giving a baby fast food is right.
