Russia introduces anonymous boxes in the street to dump babies in

That's so sad that this is actually necessary.
I could have sworn this was posted before.
Is there an upper age limit?
I see some mother dosing her 30 year old kid and shoving his unconscious body in the box.
"I disown you!"

Put baby in, turn dial to 350 degrees, cook until golden brown, serve.
Sounds like something Gordon Ramsay would say.
Now imagine if America did this. "Only in America olololol"
It looks like a fucking microwave.
The nurse in the first picture is really cute.
I want to drop a baby in her box.
What if someone forgets to empty it for a few weeks
One very fat baby.

He'd probably add in some random curses and swears in just for good measure
Don't forget to baste the baby to ensure it stays juicy throughout the baking process.
Why do I expect some drunk guy to end up sleeping stuffed in one of those things ?
This will inevitably be used as a public bathroom by passing homeless people.
Looks like a baby microwave to me
We have these for years in Czech republic.
It's pretty much because otherwise newborn kids get found in garbage dumpsters (I am not kidding).
"What happened to my real mommy?"
"She left you in a box."
I love how it looks airtight.
Hahaha! It looks like an oven!
They'll find a way to cut it open. Probably with a blowtorch.
*Police arrive to baby box thanks to autodial while pedo is cutting it open*
"Sir what are you doing?"
"Nothing...?"
*The pedo was taken into custody and shot dead without trial, soviet victory*
reminds me of "The Giver" book.
Knowing (steriotypical?) russians theill use to throw trash there and not babies.

Nice lack of education!
Baby hatches are used throughout the world, including the United States.
This seems to be more high tech than the ones I've read about though.

Baby hatch is my new euphemism for vagina.
EDIT:
Though trying to shove a baby in a baby hatch is a very different act than trying to shove a baby in a "baby hatch".
EDIT2: I'm sure my girlfriend will be thrilled.
EDIT3: About my new Euphemism. I'm not going to try to shove a baby in her baby hatch.

Wherever there is childbirth, there is a sizable amount of parents who don't want their kids. This is a problem for societies everywhere, not just ex-USSR states
Great idea but its awful that this has to be done
This is why you don't oppose abortion. All these pro life idiots can go to hell. If I was such baby I'd rather get aborted than dumped in trash and possibly die anyway.
I thought this was The Onion at first. I wanted to rate it funny but it's just so sad.
Why? I was under the impression the UK also had baby boxes. It's a system that is elsewhere in Europe and works fairly well.
So is there any information on these 'boxes'? Is it really just a box with a oventype door?
IMO if they're going to implement these they need some sort of sensor that detects if there is a baby in it so it can alert someone to pick it up.
Maybe it could have a video camera and if something is left it could alert someone who could then see and maybe lock the box until an official picks it up?
A good idea though and much better than a baby being left in the trash.
The boxes are built into the wall of the center where they are usually recieved. It's basically a way to give the kid to them without looking anyone in the eyes.
And it's not like people aren't working there 24/7. When the kids are asleep they still need to stay in the building. The baby wont be staying in the box for long.
The box itself is just a small improvement from the kid being left on their doorstep, though.
Because honestly, if you could walk to the box and put the baby there, you could/should be able to mobilize enough braincells to put the baby on the doorstep of said building when there wasn't a box dedicated to abandoned babies.
I love how it looks airtight.
The door itself is airtight, but there's ventilation and some heating in it, considering it runs on high voltage.
they will be taken in, brainwashed, and turned into the next generation of Russian super-spetsnaz
Interesting idea, Russia. I feel the inevitable argument about this will be quite similar to the pro-choice/pro-life argument, only now the pro-life will consistently degrade the mother. Which, to be honest, is what it was doing anyway.
Needs a bit of ironing out, but otherwise it's actually a pretty good alternative to other methods of ridding oneself of a baby.
