The door itself is airtight, but there's ventilation and some heating in it, considering it runs on high voltage.
Ventilated and heated oven, high quality cooking.
I thought every county already has these? We have had them like forever.
The door itself is airtight, but there's ventilation and some heating in it, considering it runs on high voltage.
I don't know what "High voltage" in Russia is, but I do know that an air vent fan and a heating element doesn't need 1000 Volts to power. Knowing the Russians, I'm quite sure that this box will be used for dumping garbage more often than for dumping babies. I have a hard time believing that it will stay sanitary for any longer periods of time.

Who's so active as to travel to such a place to dump trash in it?
They have had this in Latvia for a some time.
Who's the person that gets the job description of "I collect babies"?
Assuming it's integrated into public buildings that accept babies, I doubt it. Who's so active as to travel to such a place to dump trash in it?
True. It's easier to throw the garbage out of the window or just leave right outside the house (I am not making this shit up), but I'm certain that there will be people leaving cigarets and beer bottles in there.
What if someone forgets to empty it for a few weeks
That makes it sound like a garbage man just takes out the baby/babies and tosses them in the back of his garbage truck.
Thought provoking but very nice, Giving the option and allowing unwanted babies to live by allowing mothers to drop them anonymously off is excellent in ensuring the unwanted baby lives.
Although it also promotes the option of just leaving your baby.
They have had this in Latvia for a some time.
Do they need to though? Our birth rates are like 0 Also if someone doesn't empty the oven for some time it will get overcrowded.
What's going to stop hungry tramps from raiding these things looking for babies to eat?
What's going to stop hungry tramps from raiding these things looking for babies to eat?
The same reason it stops them from raiding orphanages.
I don't see how you guys can think this is a good idea. They should try solving their social problems in their living environments instead of making baby bins so that people keep doing it. Its like making suicide booths instead of solving the problem of increased suicides.
Its either have the baby die because it was abandoned or have the mother look for this here sign: and just drop it off there with no questions asked (most of the time. It depends on the age of the baby and other silly laws.) It also works as a safe haven for kids who run away!
So how long until they open one of these to find someone left a 23 year old with a gameboy?
So how long until they open one of these to find someone left a 23 year old with a gameboy?
It depends. How big are the boxes?
Baby hatch is my new euphemism for vagina. EDIT: Though trying to shove a baby in a baby hatch is a very different act than trying to shove a baby in a "baby hatch". EDIT2: I'm sure my girlfriend will be thrilled. EDIT3: About my new Euphemism. I'm not going to try to shove a baby in her baby hatch.
she's going to be thrilled when she has to shove a baby out the baby hatch and it fails ALTERNATE ESCAPE BABY HATCH TIME
We already have these for a year or two over here in Lithuania..
Some hospitals and orphanages in Germany have these too. [editline]31st January 2012[/editline]
Although it also promotes the option of just leaving your baby.
Any one being tipped over to give the baby away by the presence of a baby oven is probably not fit for parenthood in the first place anyway.
They have the same thing in China or Thailand or Philippines (I forget)
Same thing in Slovakia. We have "containers" for unwanted babies near some hospitals.
*Police arrive to baby box thanks to autodial while pedo is cutting it open* "Sir what are you doing?" "Nothing...?" *The pedo was taken into custody and shot dead without trial, soviet victory*
Was this supposed to be funny?
Rated dumb for box hurr. But seriously, this was done in Malaysia a while back. Not sure how successful it's been so far, though. Still, a step above having them abandoned in a bin.
