Bitch im on a mac and use windows on it and game all damn day. Even when im being a fucking idiot I still choose the master race that is PC... but a mac... but its a pc.... so yeah.
I can't move from PC to Console gaming because I simply hate controllers. They are weird to use me because I grew up on a PC, have been gaming on my PC for most of my life etc. I do have a Wii and I like some PS2 games, (When my friend had his PS2, it was pretty fun but I sucked with the controller pretty bad) played some games at a store today with a PS3 and it was weird. So there probably are multiple other people who can't find the controller comfy and will stay on the PC, for example most of my city (Everybody are on their ancient PC-s and play CS1.6 and LoL) PC gaming won't die, it is impossible. PC Market won't die, it is impossible until PC gaming lives probably. But as this thread is about the PC market, then people with ancient pieces of crap are upgrading their computers to something what now works and right now it is a good time. Except for HDD-s, they are still pricey. I think I am going to upgrade my PC this year too because it is p. bad right now.
How about you just dump the mac and get a REAL PC
If his Mac is powerful enough, no reason. Maybe when he's due for a new computer or something, but I don't see the point now.
nobody has ever really claimed pc's were a dying market except for bloggers or random people on the internet anyone who actually understands the tech industry realizes that there will always be a place for PCs, even if smartphones and tablets do end up taking a larger share of the market
This. Just because more people have smartphones and tablets overall doesn't mean that people who use PCs will stop using them. Same with mobile gaming, it's not that people are being converted from traditional pc/console games to angry birds, angry birds and such just tap into a previously untapped audience.
No matter how people feel, computers will always be popular and in demand. A lot of the shit we have today contains some type of technology that comes from computers. The only thing that will change is how the components are made, applied, a how they work (power, etc). How they look will also change. If it wasn't for the computer we wouldn't have a lot of the things we have today.
I can honestly tell you that I for one am done with consoles as a primary machine. I used consoles from 1993-2008 because I had little PC hardware knowledge. After a 40 minute session on Google it opened my eyes on how easy it is to maintain a powerful gaming PC and with that said I never looked back. Consoles are becoming advertisement machines more than gaming. Look at the new Xbox update there is a tiny button to play your game and a "HUGE FUCKING AD RIGHT IN YOUR FACE HOLY SHIT BUY XBOX LIVE NOW!" right next to it. Every game I'd want for Xbox/PS3 is on PC and I can actually play it in full 1080 not upscaled with 30fps. I use the Xbox 360 controller on my PC with a 37" HDTV always ready with a second HDMI cable so there isn't any fuss. I will be getting the WiiU for one reason. First party titles. Nintendo has strong first party support. Mario, Zelda, Smash Bros, Animal Crossing, and many more. What does Sony and Microsoft have? Shooters. How many shooters do we need? PC is the best for shooters anyway because Mouse and Keyboard is much more efficient for aiming. PC is honestly the only way to go if you're really in love with your games. Consoles are good for portability and beginners.

I just bought one of these, so count me as part of the Q1 2012 PC sales.
The PC will never die.
The PC will never die.
It will when we will be doing all calculations in our brain, maybe using some form of augmentation. That will no longer count as a personal computer I suppose.
They already have. The typical smart phone these days has enough processing power to handle the needs of 99% of people. The software isn't really there yet, but it's getting there. [editline]19th April 2012[/editline] Of course you can't run whatever games PC gamers are jerking off to today, but most people don't care about games.
Fuck, I hate it when people compare smart phone gaming to console or PC gaming. You simply cannot get the same games on a tiny little screen with an entirely touch screen interface and, I'm sorry to say, but those games are the kinds of games a lot of people want to play and will always want to play. Sure, lots of people play Angry Birds, but that's a whole different level of video game. I will never feel comfortable playing an FPS or a typical RTS on a tiny screen. Just use any shooter that has touch screen joysticks. It's a nightmare and I don't see them getting much better. You could argue that you could connect a keyboard, mouse or game pad to a smart phone but that'd just be ridiculous. The screens are too tiny. I could imagine, however, such a thing on a tablet being very plausible and very practical, that is if you can stand it up somehow but it's a long way before they're as practical for gaming as a home console or PC. 1% of people is still 70,000,000 people and, actually, far more people than that play video games using a home gaming system. Besides, just because it meets the needs of some people doesn't mean it's good. That's like saying that a phone like the Nokia 3310 meets the needs of most people because it can call and message people but people will always want to do more. I know it's off topic but I really just wanted to clear that up. Also, enough people care about games for it be clearly profitable as fuck. Also, the jerking off part? Hahahaha.
The PC doom crying will return once the new consoles start shipping out.
The new consoles will oncemore be shit compared to the PC and bring a few crappy features that nobody likes.
pc master race.
I used to be against the PC master race thing, because I always wondered "What's the big deal? How are computers any better than consoles?" Then I bought a gaming computer. PC master race all the way.
The new consoles will oncemore be shit compared to the PC and bring a few crappy features that nobody likes.
Consoles are now a medium for delivering advertisements with a side order of DLC.

GTA III seems to work pretty well on a touchscreen (of course that's an exception).
