even if that wasnt total horseshit (rayhalo, is that you?), how does that make it not ok for a BBC crew to break the rules and report on the suffering of the people there?
Well, i'm pretty sure journalism is only one of the many sources of information about NK the West possesses (including spying and stories of those who has escaped\defected and so on). So, while i sure don't agree with pentium on his ultimate "never break the rules if it's dangerous" position, the real question is whether the risk they take doing that there worth the possible outcome they get? Like, we already have a lot of good documentaries by Vice depicting the life of regular north koreans, and it's not like something's drastically changed there since then. I think there's a risk and then there's a needless risk.
What a bummer, NK documentaries / video journals are fun to watch
i imagine we'll get some interesting essays
The sanctions and suffering thing just likes to follow along because it's fun to slag another country
Jesus Christ.

What a crap report it would've been if they just talked about the wire factory, and how lovely the tour was
More than anything, I have to commend the reporters for the amount of balls they have. Doing something they know is illegal in a country where foreigners have been sentenced to years of hard labor for something as little as picking up a poster. Hell it even said they went through eight hours of questioning, must have been some brutal shit.
Pentium is actually Rayhalo?
Suffering brought on by a Western superiority complex. Suffering brought on by sanctions that do way more bad than good and are used to generate even more propaganda for both sides.
Glad to see Facepunch has its new token North Korea sympathizer. If you want to live up to Rayhalo's legacy, you're going to have to start posting news stories about how North Korea is actually really prosperous, no one is starving, and how the western media is lying to us.
Why is it always this? Why is there always a fucking North Korean apologist making these threads.
I'm not surprised one bit at all. I watched Ruperts reports whilst he was still there last week, he was basically tearing the country a new one and it was being published on TV the same day whilst he was still there. Could have been worse I guess, but irresponsible of him/BBC in such a Dangerous country
Pentium do you think nk shouldn't be investigated for human rights abuses? Or something?

Yea, visiting a country that has egregious human rights violations and a disdain for foreign press, I'd probably wait until I was well out of their borders before I blew the door open. Somewhere where they can't throw you in a work camp for the rest of your life.
MIPS has been possessed by RAYHALO's vengeful spirit :v:

the sanctions are completely justified and should be way bigger. nk general populace was starving anyway and its a country thats existence is really a fucking joke. anytime someone says they would go on a trip to nk just to see how its like, im like woah, this place is something that any sane human should not even get near (literally, seeing as nk border guards have a habit of going over to china side and robbing random people, not really strange seeing as they themselves are starving)much less pay to be there. and anytime im high and think about the death camps the trip becomes sad and depressing.
