Monopoly money.
"This'll help my fellow Americans; $20 for a board game that has over 10x as much money in it! Now, all we need to do is devote 1.3 trillion dollars for the board games, and we'll earn back countless times more money! I'm the smartest guy ever!" [editline]11:40PM[/editline]
The problem came from spending too much money, so why does Obama think that spending even more money will fix it? It's like a alcoholic drinking more to get rid of his hangover.
I know. America's in a trillion-dollar deficit, so how does Obama solve it? Print another 1.3 trillion of course!
:regd08:
Never before have I seen that emote used so appropriately.
This is really proving to be a difficult time. A lot of people of many social classes are going to be hit hard, taxes are bound to go up. Hoorah for middle class America.
-Silly statement made by me.-

UPDATE: Quote directly from Obama regarding the economy:
:regd08:
[editline]11:52[/editline] Ninja'd while finding the emote
Is it possible that the US could end up like Zimbabwe? I'm not going to spend 30billion useless dollars on a single fucking egg, man. Shit ain't right.
No, we've got an infrastructure.
No, we've got an infrastructure.
Now my sanity can remain intact, thank you. Besides that, will a freeze in spending recover the debt quickly?
I have lost nearly all hope in America.
Where's the picture? :allears: [editline]05:10AM[/editline]
Obama has downs. :downs:
Yes, solving a 1.6 trillion dollar deficit that he didn't cause is a very easy and feasible job for one person to resolve. Damn him for not solving it, that socialist! The greatest economist and accountant in the world couldn't solve the US deficit, enjoy your collapse.
Wow, no kidding. We are over $12 Trillion in debt, we've been running a deficit since Clinton left office, we're fighting a very expensive and probably un-winnable war on terror, we for some reason gave billions of dollars to banks that didn't deserve it because they thought that bad business practices were a great idea, and now we are deciding whether or not to spend billions more on shit that we can rightly put off until we can afford it.
:regd08:
Quite.
Hey, look at my awesome satirical artwork.
For fuck sakes, i was reading this a little while ago. They're saying this isn't even the beginning.
Lol, my mom has an economics doctorate, and she thinks a massive collapse of economy and society is coming soon. Part of me thinks I should be worried. The other says "Wait, it's my mom saying this."
Hey, look at my awesome satirical artwork. picture
Your picture makes me sad. I think we should have let Alaska stay with Canada. And Hawaii could have gone back to taking care of themselves, we didn't need to drag them down with us. :frown:
Well, I'm getting off here, good luck everyone! :suicide:
Your picture makes me sad. I think we should have let Alaska stay with Canada. And Hawaii could have gone back to taking care of themselves, we didn't need to drag them down with us. :frown:
How noble of you. :3: I will order Emperor Obama to do so at once.
Typical, Bush starts two wars of occupation, cuts taxes, and spends a massive amount of money without paying for any of it. Then, the Republicans turn around and criticize Obama for the national debt a year after taking office. It's not his job to clean up their fucking mess, and he needs to do a better job of pointing out exactly who is to blame for this. Also, they're going to have to bite the bullet and raise taxes. It's the only way to deal with this, we've gone beyond the point of being able to cut spending enough to make a dent. Ending the wars might help, but that's about the only place to get real money without screwing everyone over.
America's heading towards a financial crossroads. If we don't make getting rid of our dangerously large deficit and gaining control of spending our top priority, we could quite literally destroy all functionality of our government
LOL GUYS WE'RE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH OUR BUDGET WHICH IS CONTROLLED BY CONGRESS LETS BLAME IT ON THE PRESIDENT! /caps
LOL GUYS WE'RE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH OUR BUDGET WHICH IS CONTROLLED BY CONGRESS LETS BLAME IT ON THE PRESIDENT! /caps
It's both of their faults. [editline]09:53PM[/editline]
It's hardly just Bush's fault, our government has been digging it's own grave deeper for the past 60 years.
60? More like 10.
Well if USA just prints more money then inflation kicks in. It helps exports but importing will have hard time getting used to.
Also, destroy the department of education, department of agriculture, and other associated acts that should be within local government rather than federal.
Well if USA just prints more money then inflation kicks in. It helps exports but importing will have hard time getting used to.
We still make stuff to export? Or rather, we still make stuff?
It's hardly just Bush's fault, our government has been digging it's own grave deeper for the past 60 years.
If that's true, then why did our last Democrat president leave office with a $250 billion surplus? Republican strategy since Reagan has been to cut taxes, increase spending, and lump everything into the deficit for the next guy to deal with. Why? Because cutting taxes and handing people money is great short-term politics, and that's all they care about.
We still make stuff to export? Or rather, we still make stuff?
There are some car companies that still manufacture cars in the US. Also beef, corn, and grain are one of our largest exports.
Let's start a World War III. Loose lips sink ships.
Let's start a World War III. Loose lips sink ships.
Go out with a bang, huh.
