There are some car companies that still manufacture cars in the US. Also beef, corn, and grain are one of our largest exports.
Do we make anything else, aside from that and a certain brand of diabetes meters and test strips?
If that's true, then why did our last Democrat president leave office with a $250 billion surplus? Republican strategy since Reagan has been to cut taxes, increase spending, and lump everything into the deficit for the next guy to deal with. Why? Because cutting taxes and handing people money is great short-term politics, and that's all they care about.
Our last Democrat president was forced to do the things that made the economy grow. He also Gave up on health care reform before it was to late. Obama is not giving up and it will hurt him even more that it has currently.
Typical, Bush starts two wars of occupation, cuts taxes, and spends a massive amount of money without paying for any of it. Then, the Republicans turn around and criticize Obama for the national debt a year after taking office. It's not his job to clean up their fucking mess, and he needs to do a better job of pointing out exactly who is to blame for this.
Also, they're going to have to bite the bullet and raise taxes. It's the only way to deal with this, we've gone beyond the point of being able to cut spending enough to make a dent. Ending the wars might help, but that's about the only place to get real money without screwing everyone over.
George W. Bush started the problem, you're right, but Obama's not done anything good to fix it. Rather, he's done some half-assed plans that have only succeeded in screwing up the economy even more.
Do we make anything else, aside from that and a certain brand of diabetes meters and test strips?
The fuck if I know. I would imagine a lot of things that other countries cannot make such as medicine, soda drinks, and chemicals.
I fucking called it.

He hasn't had a choice or the opportunity to fix anything, he had to scramble to pass a stimulus plan to help slow the rate of job loss, and Congress has been too bogged down in healthcare to fix the problems with Wall Street that caused this, or to do anything about the deficit. It's hard to worry about the mortgage when you're trying to keep the house from burning down.

Our overpriced pharmaceuticals?
Also, we don't really export soft drinks to other countries, we just build the bottling plants where we want to sell them.
Also, destroy the department of education, department of agriculture, and other associated acts that should be within local government rather than federal.
Local government just sucks though.
It sucks so hard.
Local government just sucks though.

I wouldn't say that. Some things the local government is good at, and some things should just be left to private companies. The department of agriculture could easily be replaced by some business.

But schools should be run locally.

Those are all nice things, but the local governments in the US sucks really really hard.
There's no denial in that.

And yet the percentage of Job loss is hight then what Obama said it would be if the stimulus was passed.
Last I checked 10% was higher than 8%.
We make weapons and ships and stuff like that. Didn't ya hear we just sold a shitload of em to Taiwan and pissed off the Chinese.

We should try to get gun companies in America making better AK clones for foreign nations.
I don't get how America sucks at money so much. The rest of the developed world seems to be doing fine.
You guys are like the retarded kid that sets things on fire using $20 bills

You see, in the 60's all the Jews emigrated to Israel. They're prospering while our nation turned into a shithole.

We spend more than we can afford, which is different from most countries.
Here's a very cool site to check out, although the facts that are laid out there may be a bit disturbing.
http://www.usdebtclock.org/
Here are some other things that concern me.
1. China is just about to really start using lots of cars and use a lot of fuel thus driving the price of fuel through the roof. Currently the largest highways in the world are being built in China.
2. Many of the Baby Boomer's are about to retire for the military and start collecting their retirements at the cost of the taxpayers.
3. All of the Baby Boomer's are about to apply for Medi-Care and the new supplement D
4. The Chinese are getting more and more unsettled about the debt that we have with them. They cannot continue to loan us money indefinitely.
5. We are already in dept but we sell nothing to get us out of debt.
6. We're already broke from the last party in office and yet the new party would like to buy us all health care.
7. Many of us, including myself, don't/can't afford health care.
8. The value of the dollar is, and has been, on the decline yet we continue to print money.
9. The list just goes on and on, I really just don't know where to draw the line anymore...
So how do we get out of this mess? I have no idea really. Wait till the whole thing crumbles and then start over? How long will that take? Can it be fixed?
So many questions and so few answers.
Those are all nice things, but the local governments in the US sucks really really hard.

Typically, local governments can represent their constituents better than Congressmen. There's a much smaller constituent to representative ratio, so each vote actually does matter.
I can more easily go to a town hall meeting and voice my concerns to a mayor and the county board than I can go to Washington and try to speak to Congressmen.
And if you really don't like your local government, it's easier to move to the next county than it is to the another state country.
lol its funny how zimbabwe is using US dollars now
Local governments blow, the only difference is the corruption is easier to see. Competition for local government seats is practically nonexistent, the incumbents get richer and richer as time goes on, making their campaigns harder and harder to compete with. Usually takes a public scandal to get rid of them.
Obama has downs. :downs:
I got like 100 dumbs and 50 disagrees for saying that Obama wasn't going to fix the economy in a year or two and that he's only human under the elections.
Though believe me I'd be only happy if he did (oh and all non-Americans thinking "Oh look the fatty got what it deserved", America's shitty economy is going to affect the whole world, not just the US).
Obama must have spent all the hope on bailouts.
iTS THE FALL OF THE UNITED STATES 2012
But seriously everything will be okay

Bailouts, Back stabs, and bribery. (He took part in getting those stubborn democrats to vote for the Health care bill when each one was brought into the oval office)

Don't forget bitching too! :eng101:
Personally, Obama seems like he's just a fancy talker who doesn't really know how to run a country...
