are you sure it was the warships and not the supply ships? IIRC u-boat attacks on british overseas supply was the strategy, as they knew a victory against the royal navy was hopeless. u-boats were no ultimate weapon against surface ships
175 warships were sunk by U-boats but yes they mainly targetted merchant ships
Except the world doesn't go Britain > Channel > Germany there is other stuff in the way you know
France was occupied by the Germans.
Kinda misleading title, I thought the USA was on the brink of going to war with Poland or something
...you can't blitz across water
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_britain They certainly tried.
Kinda misleading title, I thought the USA was on the brink of going to war with Poland or something
Of course we would of won :fsmug:
hah, one man held off the soviets. that guy was a MONSTER. almost a grand in kills with just a simple bolt action and a shoddy smg. go simo
He was a true badass, they carpet bombed the fucker and he just went on his way sniping Russians.
Of course we would of won :fsmug:
As the defender, yes, as the aggressor, no.
As the defender, yes, as the aggressor, no.
I'm pretty sure America can over take Poland, one on one.
I'm pretty sure America can over take Poland, one on one.
And I'm saying the couldn't do it considering allies, which is more realistic. I could essentially say that Jamaica could take over the world if nobody mobilised their armies but there isn't any point because it's unrealistic.

We'll call in the Fins to keep Russia busy as we seige Warsaw. Yeah, Poland would have allies, but so would we.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_britain They certainly tried.
subversion =/= blitz
The fucking Finns man. One guy killed something like a bazillion ruskies with his hunting rifle or some shit like that.
About 572 confirmed, rumored to be over 700. Simo Hayha, motherfuckers. FUCK YES. Also, poor polish people, always being attacked and shit.
About 572 confirmed, rumored to be over 700. Simo Hayha, motherfuckers. FUCK YES. Also, poor polish people, always being attacked and shit.
I thought it was 572 confirmed rifle kills? And another 100 SMG kills or something.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_britain They certainly tried.
they tried to make preperations to invade Britain, yes
It'd eventually turn into an America vs. Poland/Russia thing. We'll call in the Fins to keep Russia busy as we seige Warsaw. Yeah, Poland would have allies, but so would we.
But I was thinking, USA has NATO, Poland has NATO and the EU, most NATO powers would side with Poland as the defender I would think
About 572 confirmed, rumored to be over 700. Simo Hayha, motherfuckers. FUCK YES. Also, poor polish people, always being attacked and shit.
At least 1 in every 250 kills in the Winter War was made by Simo Häyhä using the highest Soviet casualty figures and the lowest kill estimates from Häyhä. Just some food for thought.
At least 1 in every 250 kills in the Winter War was made by Simo Häyhä using the highest Soviet casualty figures and the lowest kill estimates from Häyhä. Just some food for thought.
Poles shoulda used VAC I guess
I thought it was 572 confirmed rifle kills? And another 100 SMG kills or something.
200 SMG kills, I've heard. And he never used a scope, or rarely.
But I was thinking, USA has NATO, Poland has NATO and the EU, most NATO powers would side with Poland as the defender I would think
The EU is an economic entity, not a military alliance.
The British didn't do shit in the war, besides helping out in north africa and letting their land to be used as a base of operations. They even planned to sign pacts with the Germans. Pathetic. Most of the Allied war effort was done by the Soviets and USA. And if you consider the odds the Polish were going up against (attacks by the soviets and nazis at once from pretty much all sides with far superior numbers) a week isn't bad at all. Also the Polish Armed Forces actually held out for most of the war but they became underground movements coordinated by a whole secret command chain. Not to mention it was the biggest resistance movement in Europe (If not the world) at the time, and the only one to actually manufacture equipment and vehicles. Shame a lot of people are so uneducated on the topic and dismiss the Polish contributions to the war effort (such as our efforts in the liberation of Denmark and Italy. They won battles deemed previously impossible to win such as the battle of Monte Cassino http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Monte_Cassino) Such is the ignorance of the people of the west. On topic: I don't get why this is in the news section. I don't think it's even worth mentioning. Also congratulations OP, nice title, thanks for starting a shitstorm.
ujbubjbjbjipknio

Yeah, Poland would have allies, but so would we.
Are you saying Poland is allied with Russia? Our country despises Russia because of what they did to us during the Cold War. Also the U.S would never go to war with Poland due to us being allies with the U.S, and the response they would get from the EU. Which is war against the U.S.
the soviet union =/= the Russian federation
the soviet union =/= the Russian federation
Funnily enough we still dislike them. Also I'm not speaking for my entire country although a large amount of people I was with and know hated them. We hate them from a political point of view, the Russian people are good people so don't get me wrong.

For another, the reason I said Russia would step in wasn't because you guys are cozy with each other, but because it would be open season for Russia to expand it's influence again.

Russia isn't dumb enough to start a full scale war against the U.S, they're not the power they used to be.
I was expecting something like this: Not just 3 rounds from M240...
You and me both. From the title I was expecting a news story about a rogue fleet of warships assaulting a hopeless port in Poland.
lol. guess what? Britain held out the entire war :)
whats that?! britian was a super power?! and it had a natural body of water surrounding it!?
start of ww3, european union against usa and whoever becomes their allies. mwha ha ha haaaa
Mexico will help us! They our home boys.
Isn't the English Channel something like just 20 miles wide? Not much of a distance.
Yeah, it's not like the Royal Navy was one of the most powerful navies or anything.
If America really did go to war with the world I'm pretty sure it would turn into an occupation of canada/mexico and both sides end up looking at each other because the US doesn't have the force to fight everyone at once and the world can't invade because of the US' naval and air supremacy. [editline]01:49AM[/editline] Oh, just against the EU? I hadn't read all of the posts, but the outcome would be similiar. 11 full sized fleet carriers means GB doesn't stand a chance but mainland europe would be a tough nut to crack.
