but seriously in the image, why is there a ammo chute on his shoulder? He lunging a m134 around or something?
Something like this probably:
Finally, the graphics of COD have progressed beyond 2007.
I doubt thats running ingame have to take a first hand look to believe.
I just hope they don't have nextgen carparks like this

I think it's super unfair how Treyarch makes military shooters with actual unique settings and setpeices and gets shit upon, but DICE gets a free ride making two of the exact same game in a row.
B-but cod is bad and only for plebians!!!
No, I really really like Treyarch's games and I think they deserve more recognition. Black Ops 1 had an enjoyable campaign (story wise) and a healthy multiplayer. Black Ops 2 was the most "fluid" in terms of the campaign (dude you can change the outcome [a little but still]), and added a tonne of cool stuff to MP.
It's the IW/Sledgehammer ones that deserve hatred for rehash, not the Treyarch ones.
Good luck expecting them to change game mechanics, those haven't been changed much since like, CoD 4. The biggest change i've seen was on Black Ops 2, with Treyarch's 10-point class system. IMO the gameplay is already pretty solid, but I think balance is the biggest flaw in it.
[sp]also good luck wanting them to change the engine, they still want 60fps on consoles AFAIK[/sp]
to be fair, 60 FPS is a huge deal for first person shooters
I will simply not play a shooter locked at 30. Fighting game? OK, but a shooter? I'm not accepting that. It looks like shit if its at 30, even if it has worse graphics than a game locked at 30.

Treyarchs World at war was amazing
IW is just pathetic, it can't even do the one game they've always made right

Out of bounds areas account for the whole game.
Kevin Spacey is apparently going to play the villain, and it's going to be about how PMC's are now the most powerful military force.
If this was any other title but Call of Duty, you wouldn't be nearly as cynical about it as you are with it.
Plus, it's made by treyarch, and they've been getting super good at making dumb, big action games.
I think it's super unfair how Treyarch makes military shooters with actual unique settings and setpeices and gets shit upon, but DICE gets a free ride making two of the exact same game in a row.
Hey, I'm an equal opportunities dickhead: I think both Battlefield and CoD are absolute shite grinder-mill games just like the torrent of shit, grinder-mill square-shaped book-styled military/crime-themed products that come out.
Out of bounds areas account for the whole game.
look at those sexy textures
Out of bounds areas account for the whole game.
you can legitimately get up there wouldn't call that out of bounds
to be fair, 60 FPS is a huge deal for first person shooters
yeah, especially fast-paced ones. it's probably because i don't play console games much anymore, but CoD is probably one of the rare few FPS games that still aim for 60fps
Please be Franco-Prussian War II.

This is Sledgehammer's first Call of Duty game though? It's kind of hard to rehash your previous CoD games when you never made a CoD game before.
Like, think about it.
IW: Call of Duty 4 - Wonderful game, possibly one of the best in the series, set the bar for most casual military shooters
TArc: World at War - Best game in the series by most accounts, enjoyable single player, expanded multiplayer, addition of the "Zombies" gamemode
IW: Modern Warfare 2 - Subpar, stale single player, mediocre multiplayer
TArc: Black Ops - Interesting single player with a twist on both CoD story and has actual characters, a revamped multiplayer with tonnes of new features
IW/SHam: Modern Warfare 3 - Miserable, awful single player, forgettable multiplayer with poorly added features
TArc: Black Ops 2 - Well executed single player with a real replayability factor, multiplayer that harkens to earlier games in the series
IW/SHam/Whomever: Ghosts - This happened?
See a pattern? Treyarch are at least trustworthy with their games, and I feel that they can be given a slight pass. This may not be a Treyarch one but just trying to point out what the hullabaloo is.

It's just a small clip, but damn I love Kevin Spacey. Such a great voice.
Remember me?
That was literally the first thing that came to my head :v:
It will be interesting to see what Sledgehammer can do. They did finish up MW3, but the game had an 8 month dev cycle and was rushed to hell because of 40+ IW employes leaving after they fired West and Zampella. Activision forced them to meet that deadline, so It'll be interesting to see how this game turns out with more time. I would like a Call of Duty set in the far far future with like magic and shit.
I will only buy a COD game ever again if its during the medieval ages.

Here's my idea for a CoD game. Time Space Continuum fixers, ala "Darkest of Days". Top secret US/NATO personnel are tasked with going back in time and stopping Russians/Chinese/Nazis/Butthole Monsters from changing the past for the worst; And maybe, just maybe, save the future.
Go back to 1914 and stop the baddies from causing a total German curbstomp of French positions
Jump forwards to 1961 and destroy a Viet Cong convoy before it reaches American troops
Swing all the way back to 1850 and fight amongst the British at Svestapol and capture an enemy agent
Multiplayer would have 200 years worth of weapons to choose from, storyline could be retarded and it wouldn't matter.

Now with ultra realistic mutton chops

A new game with a retired tactical dog as the main character, trying to stop a terrorist cat
Call of Duty: Walrus Warfare.
I approve

I want to see one set during WW2, where the Nazis get like alien technology and create UFOs and harness the aliens magic. So when you see that first Nazi UFO as an American you shit your pants. So all the weaponry and gadgets in that game are like futuristic but in a WW2 setting.
PMC's are the face of warfare and global economy? Shit, lets pin the originality medal on their chest!

In all honesty though, while I'll hold out hope amybe the game could be cool, I wouldn't be excited abot a "new era" since we all know that's a bunch of horseshit.
I can't wait for it to be praised for taking a brave new step in Metal Gear Solid's footprints

So games aren't allowed to follow others anymore?
There are rumors the game is going to be called "Patriots" and be set around WWI era time

There's a difference between inspiration and just rehashing themes that have been covered. People are already acting like this is an amazing new idea.
Same thing with Spec Ops the line, which was great, but was just a big copy paste of MGS2
