Sorry, that's actually not as sensible as I'd have you beleive. What I meant is that Spec Ops really went with the idea of player versus character, and while I thought it was really well implemented, people acted like it invented the concept. MGS2's story also dealt a lot with the control of information which Spec ops didn't touch.
I'm a massive MGS fan and it just bugs me to know CoD will be getting so much praise for this. That being said it's not like anyone cares about the singleplayer and the last CoD I played was MW2 but I don't think this is innovative as anyone would have me believe.

Have you read the internet lately? Call of Duty doesn't get a lot of "praise" from anybody besides the gaming sites they pay.

Well I understand, it's just that it gets on my nerves whenever someone immediately cries "ripoff!" when someone else tries something similar.
I'm reading around already and on sites like reddit they're chomping it up talking about how cool this one looks and I've seen a few people talk directly about the PMC idea being the cool part
besides MGS anyway nearly every shooter these days is about fucking PMC's

oh no, if anything Cod will rip itself off.
Besides. MGS has more cutscenes than CoD has gameplay, they're different creatures. I'm not isinuiating they'll actually be similar
MGS was about how war is despicable and the PMC's (who are basically likened to CoD players, soldiers trained on VR hungry for blood) are monsters
CoD PMC is going to be about good honest fighting men versus the evil corporations because wall street, I guarantee it
hey well you know
this could be good

Because it's difficult to think of something new if it's a Modern Day/Near Future FPS. We aren't united against a common enemy anymore (Nazis/Reds), we don't have a massive international threat that is poised to dominate the world, and our armies are slowly being phased out for the age of Robotic Warfare.
There are rumors the game is going to be called "Patriots" and be set around WWI era time

uh, that was found to be 99% false

That's part of why I loathe modern shooters and why I really did enjoy Spec Ops
we're so desperate for an enemy, to be glorious in combat. Truly soldiers without an army.

It looks like they're wearing an exoskeleton suit. I guess Robotic super soldier is the "New era of warfare" they're talking about.
Digging that futuristic knight helmet.

That actually is an extremely cool design. I'm surprised that's not a more common design use, using medieval armor as inspiration for sci-fi stuff

no sorry, that's a blatant ripoff from dead space 3 and therefore not allowed to be praised
You know if COD is moving into territory that's currently a favorite of the "We're not COD" crowd, I wonder where the "We're not COD" crowd will end up taking their games.
Considering this is by the studio who made the MW3 MP, there's no hope for it. MW3 was basically a "fixed" version of MW2 but it didn't fix anything. At least MW2 was an entertaining clusterfuck.
Treyarch are the only ones that seem to try and do their own unique spins on stuff and even then it can be hit and miss.

the zinger would work way better if it looked like Isaac at all, or if people liked DS3's armor design.

It's just a small clip, but damn I love Kevin Spacey. Such a great voice.
You could literally rename the video to 'House of Cards Season 3 Teaser' and it would work

well both are pretty general comparisons which probably differ in their specific takes, not to mention that neither games can claim originality as the concept itself is familiar and "ripped off" from real life anyways... unless metal gear solid 2 is noted for its invention of moral dissonance or MGS4 for its invention of the war business controversy
it's a sensible comparison tbh

i'm too sleepy to argue
let's just do bullet points
Il ike the metal gears
cod a shit
I'm going to sleep, goodnight
Like, think about it.
IW: Call of Duty 4 - Wonderful game, possibly one of the best in the series, set the bar for most casual military shooters
TArc: World at War - Best game in the series by most accounts, enjoyable single player, expanded multiplayer, addition of the "Zombies" gamemode
IW: Modern Warfare 2 - Subpar, stale single player, mediocre multiplayer
TArc: Black Ops - Interesting single player with a twist on both CoD story and has actual characters, a revamped multiplayer with tonnes of new features
IW/SHam: Modern Warfare 3 - Miserable, awful single player, forgettable multiplayer with poorly added features
TArc: Black Ops 2 - Well executed single player with a real replayability factor, multiplayer that harkens to earlier games in the series
IW/SHam/Whomever: Ghosts - This happened?
See a pattern? Treyarch are at least trustworthy with their games, and I feel that they can be given a slight pass. This may not be a Treyarch one but just trying to point out what the hullabaloo is.
Treyarch always seems to be taking new risk that can be either bad or good but it's good to see them even attempting a risk whereas IW/Sledge do shit all
Hell Treyarch look so much better than MW3 or Ghost and Treyach only uses the IW3.0 Engine (which is 7 years old and is heavily modified) and it shits over IW4, 5 and 6 (plus has a lot more options to alter graphics). And they treat the PC community fairly but still got to abide by Activitions love with Xbox
Destructoid just got the leak of the trailer and screenshots. It's Call of Duty... ADVANCED WARFARE
Through a trusted source, Destructoid has learned the new Call of Duty, subtitled Advanced Warfare, revolves around a soldier of fortune group run by Spacey's character that has turned on the United States government. As shown in the leaked media attached to this post, players will wear exosuits to jump super high, scale buildings, and cloak themselves. Also, hoverbikes.
that's not how engines work..
engine names literally mean nothing, treyarch's game base is not 7 years old and its rendering bits are technologically more advanced than whatever was used in MW3 and comparable (to use the term loosely as they implemented different "advanced" features) to Ghosts' engine

This^ It's like saying the engine is basically iD Tech 3. The Black Ops 2 IW 3.0 engine is very modified. Anyways just saw the new CoD trailer, I'm really not interested in the game.
I honestly lost count at where CoD is supposed to be at now
The trailer looks nice and all but then once we get to the actual gameplay, it's gonna be the exact same shit, just different levels, guns, textures and sounds. It's literally gonna be like a huge mod to BO2.
Snip
Advanced Warfare looks super good. It's an obvious response to Titanfall, it's got exoskeletons that remind me of that new tom cruise movie, and it's everything I want from CoD: more mobility, more crazy weapon shiz, more and better setpieces in the singleplayer.
I'm looking forward to it, 100%.
So it's going to be Crysis 2? An arcade shooter with special suits.
CoD please, please, please stop doing this you are hurting us. You are flooding our already over-saturated market with subpar FPS clones.
And stop fucking putting Warefare in your title. Like, seriously we get the fucking point you've ridden that handle so far into the ground it's popped out the otherside of the Goddamn Earth. And we as a community already know these little shitheads are going to go out and buy the game because it's the latest and greatest and CoD's higher ups will once again get to have that euphoric illusion that they make good games as they wildly jack off on their big piles of money.
Give me a break, we don't want to play your shitty games anymore. If I find that these games are going to be considered "classics" in the future, I'm going to be quite upset. I don't give a fuck who's making them, they're clones. Their assets, feel, plots (or lack their of) and community is just a disgusting rehash riding on the coat tails of their previous successes. And future games will be nothing but a lifeless shell of it's previous clone, shedding it's skin to be ready to go hunting for it's prey known as the hardcore market. And they're going to get away with it too, yet again.
Have you guys heard of a small, little known game called METAL GEAR SOLID?
METAL GEAR METAL GEAR, METAL GEAR FOREVER. FUCK ME KOJIIIIMA, I WANT YOUR METAL DIIIICK
You guys and /v/ never shut the fuck up about it. Get off it's cock.
You guys criticize COD for putting out too few maps for too high a price, but at least COD didn't just release one map and price it at $30.
Why didn't they just call it Call of Duty Atlas.
It's the name of the corporation and it just sounds better imo.

Somebody doesn't understand the second half of "supply and demand." The game may not fit your tastes, but it does fit a lot of people.
