judging from the trailer it looks like black ops 2 + exoskeletons and hoverbikes so it'll just probably add titanfall's parkour aspect to the multiplayer
The graphics don't look all that bad actually, some scenes looked pretty colorful.
There's a difference between inspiration and just rehashing themes that have been covered. People are already acting like this is an amazing new idea. Same thing with Spec Ops the line, which was great, but was just a big copy paste of MGS2
So you're saying that this game can't do PMCs because they were done in MGS4 and it won't be original, even though MGS4 didn't invent the concept of global PMCs? And you're saying that more than one game can't cover the same themes because they've already "been covered"? Seriously? That's quite contradictory. I hate to break it to you, but more than one game/book/movie/whatever can deal with the same themes in different ways. No media should have to shy away from a subject just because something else did it before, for many obvious reasons. That's a large subject to get into, so as a quick contrast Spec Ops did plenty new but not once in MGS2 did I feel bad about what was happening and feel like I should stop playing. It wasn't a "copy paste". You're just irked that these games are getting credit rather than your beloved MGS. Not to discredit the series, as you may know from the Megathread I'm a fan too. Anyway, I seriously doubt Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be hailed as an amazing and original game that tackles the issues and controversies surrounding private military companies so there's no need to fret.
You know what? as a person who usually hates on call of duty, that was pretty good.
I'm liking quite a bit of the animations of the models in the trailer. I'm pretty surprised at the fidelity of the game. Haven't formed excitement for a COD game in a while; as much as I'd hate to say it, this game looks like it may have promise. I doubt they can top the Chernobyl sniper mission from MW1, ever.
Kevin Spacey is apparently going to play the villain, and it's going to be about how PMC's are now the most powerful military force.
Sooo, Metal Gear Solid 4?
So a new era of generic FPSs yay
One thing we can all agree it. It will be way better in terms of not having bugs or client crashes OR netcode issues. That alone makes me want to get the game after the disaster of Battlefield 4 (which it still is).
I dunno. I haven't played the last two COD games, but I might just play this one because of Kevin Spacey.
Sooo, Metal Gear Solid 4?
Oh my god, shut up. "Crysis is going to have mechanical suits" "Sooo, Halo?" "Dawn of War 2 is going to have faction specific units" "Sooo, Total War?" Jesus christ it borrows an idea from another game, it's not evil to not be 100% original

It's also completely well known now that the dev cycle of BF4 was rushed to compete with Ghosts at the end of 2013. So we all get the beta version of a game because of the marketing fight with Activision. (I had fun with premium expansions, I just sort of wished carrier assault was grander than it is) That doesn't justify the buginess, but it makes pretty damn good sense considering people how shitty Ghosts was and how many people still lined up to buy it. I can play Ghosts and have a flashback to the MW1 that I missed when I was younger and then I don't want to play anymore. At least I can still have fun doing stuff in BF4, and the maps are still huge in comparison. There is a lot of room to experiment and try out random shit in BF4 as well. [editline]2nd May 2014[/editline] Will DICE ever top 2142? I don't fucking know.

The premise doesn't seem too bad actually. Still waiting for some gameplay to be shown though.
The trailer has me intrigued simply because I'm a sucker for sci-fi AND they basically followed House of Cards to its natural conclusion. I'm still going to be skeptical until it actually comes out.
So a new era of generic FPSs yay
It'll be interesting to see how "Call of Duty syndrome" progresses. After the original game, there was an abundance of WWII shooters on the market. After Modern Warfare, there was an abundance of modern shooters. However, neither Black Ops game really caught on beyond themselves. There seems to be a little more variation on the market right now and the CoD craze may finally be dying. Will we get bombarded with games copying Advanced Warfare? I guess only time will tell.
Sooo, Metal Gear Solid 4?
yeah cuz mgs 4 was the first piece of media to tackle the pmc story perfect dark had pmc hyper corporations hell fucking team fortress 2 is based around 2 mercenary companies that secretly control the world
Hey y the fuck do we care about cod if we all hate it here
Because Kevin Spacey
only people buying these games are under age gamers who have not developed a taste for video games.
I'm 18 years old and I will be purchasing the game, just because someone doesn't share the same taste in games as you doesn't mean their taste is bad. That's like saying "Sir, I'm sorry but, your opinion is wrong" It's an opinion and people are allowed to like what they want. I would also argue that Call of Duty 4 deserves a place in the top 10 best FPS games of all time.
I enjoy the fact they felt the need to notify me it was captured on a potato. Without that, I would've never guessed that the upscaled, lack of AA was on a console.
Sooo, Metal Gear Solid 4?
Hideo Kojima didn't invent PMCs.
Man if this was a movie I'd rent the shit out of it after waiting for it to come to DVD because I ain't gonna pay fuckin' $10 to watch it.
If I finally get to fight American forces in this then I might cosider actually buying this.
I'm getting a serious Illusive Man vibe from Kevin Spacey's character. He (appears) to run a rogue military organisation, he talks with authority and thinks he knows what's best for the people, he's even dressed and lit a lot like the Illusive Man is when you see him in his office. [t]http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/5231/uglyshep990.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/iVSdJfJ.jpg[/t] Obviously the Illusive Man didn't invent the suit wearing old white dude archetype, but I'm finding it hard not to draw parallels here.
If I finally get to fight American forces in this then I might cosider actually buying this.
I think you might. It seems to be a rogue PMC group going against occupying American forces/ vice versa
There's something that bothers me about Spacey's character's model. It certainly looks very much like Spacey but it's not high fidelity enough for me when I know what real Kevin Spacey looks like. Going with a different looking model would probably fix that issue but Spacey has such an iconic voice that it is hard to imagine belonging to someone different looking.
I must admit the setting hits a very sweet spot of mine, I absolutely love this kind of sci-fi. I'll see where this goes.
Every time they say they have new crazy changes, I still see the same god damn game since CoD4. So, bullshit.
Every time they say they have new crazy changes, I still see the same god damn game since CoD4. So, bullshit.
In what way? Besides the basic movement and shooting mechanics, Black Ops 2 as an example is noticeably different from CoD4. [editline]2nd May 2014[/editline] One of the big things CoD4 added was Create-A-Class and now that is totally different.
I thought the trailer was good, but that may be just because Kevin Spacey had a monologue throughout.
The trailer looked cool.
They almost always do, and I fall for it every time.
