In addition to addressing mental health and guns, congressmen call for violent video games to be put

I dont feel like they are going to get anywhere with this video game crap. Games are a lot more popular now and are a bigger industry so I dont think they will have a problem defending themselves, they already have a rating board and put warnings and labels on games, theres nothing else you can do to restrict it that is constitutional. I see it to be a distraction to mental health care, its a lot easier to blame a private industry than to put money into health care reform.
Ahahaha
From the Ke$ha news thread:
Why are you guys acting like its a good thing? The moment they pull one of your favorite video games off the shelves in response to the shooting you guys would be the first to whine.
Starpluck was right. :v:
Don't forget film, literature, and music.
And neighbours. Those sly bastards love to curse up and down the street.
I hope these congressmen and women do something about My free cams. I go there and just when it's getting good the girl goes into a group show that I can't see because I'm cheap and have no tokens! It drives me crazy, and I might do something dangerous(once I wash my hands off of course).
Drugs, sex, violence, hysteria, guns, bloodshed, genocide, crime are not an issue in the world... the assholes who abuse it are.
Genocide is okay in small doses?
the reason most parents buy their kids M rated games is because they don't know what's in it, not because they don't care that their children are going to turn out to be horrible people
No the reason they buy the game for them is because parents see video games as a virtual babysitter to get their kids to shut up and get out of their way.
The bible is full of violence, and so are most other religions.
And they pre-date video games and movies.
Let's put that on the table instead.
Because nobody wants to be the person who tells parents they suck at being parents.
Have you seen the 'experts' they bring in on talk shows?
Why do many European countries with the same games still retain a lower gun death rate then?
Because America is a lot bigger then the typical European country.
Alright, look. Even if we ban all the shitty, violent, and terrible media (movies, video games, etc.), that won't stop people from going crazy and doing chaotic and upredictable things. We live in a unpredictable world, and these attempts to ban randomn shit is our way to try to contol that randomness.
But guess what? Won't fucking work. Charlie Manson claimed to be inspired by fucking Beatles songs, when he killed people. Did anyone, at any point, try to ban Beatles music? No, because that would be fucking retarded. Just like this shit is.

Ban guns, they are absolutely evil and need to be outlawed!
Ban games? NO, I USE THESE, DONT. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THEM
Oh fucking hell, here we go again.
If they take away my violent video games, I think I might just have to go shoot up a school or something.
Instead teaching idiots how not to be idiots let's just rid them of fun things and make them even bigger idiots! God saves!
-typical politician in the USA
When I saw this shit happening Friday. I knew that this was going to fucking happen. And I'm afraid you know why because look at how much gun's have been affected by this shooting. Know think what happens if they actually ban semi-automatic guns. Shit will just roll second comes games then Music even the good ones, TV will start getting things pulled and all that we know as freedom will be lost.

But in all seriousness Congress is a bunch of idiots and any one who tries to ban fucking games because of this is a fucking idiot.
I'm pretty sure if they address the mental health issue, they won't have to worry about videogames, any sane person can play a violent videogame and not go on a rampage killing everyone, it's only people with mental problems that do that.
The hell does that even mean?
It's not a surprise that the public would react this way even though we have no idea if he actually played video games because his harddrive was smashed.
~oh my im simply shocked that people are calling for bans on more things than guns, as if that's the only thing the public is going to blame~
we put an M on it and then sell it anyway, nothing is legally restricted like if it were cigarettes or beer
maybe a giant "NOT FOR SALE TO CHILDREN UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE" disclaimer on the box or something
Don't know about you, but when I was <17 I had to have a parent with me to buy M games.
You all should just accept it and find a different hobby. Your hobby is resulting in the deaths of thousands every year.
Why do many European countries with the same games still retain a lower gun death rate then?
Because access to guns is difficult, and that is to do with culture and geography, and a policy that suits it's culture and geography.
Don't know about you, but when I was <17 I had to have a parent with me to buy M games.
Then it's the parents fault.
Discussion is over.
ban 50 shades of grey
major violence in that
