Do you even know what fascism is? Smoke weed erry day man
No he doesn't because he's probably a rebellious teenage leftard who thinks even the slightest opinion oppression is fascism.
You guys hear that? That's the sound of democracy taking a dive out of the nearest window.
You guys hear that? That's the sound of democracy taking a dive out of the nearest window.
I think you misheard, could've sworn that's the sound of federal government upholding federal law.
I had dream, I had a dream that this country wasn't ruled by dumbasses. I HAD A DREAM THAT WE STILL HAD OUR FREEDOM OF SPEECH! I HAD A DREAM THAT WE WOULD FINALLY STAND UP AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT! I HAD A DREAM THAT ALL POLITICS WASN'T LYING DOUCHEBAGS I HAD A DREAM THAT THE GOVERNMENT CAN DO SMART THINGS AND STOP WASTING TAX DOLLARS ON STUPID STUFF! I HAD A DREAM THAT I CAN SAY NIGGER WITHOUT BEING FORUM BANNED FOR RACISM!

Wow, and to think the founding fathers fought for a government that was completely against what is going on right now. Seriously, way to move backwards US.
Attorney General Eric Holder is the same official the entertainment industry lobbyists run to crying about piracy. He and Vice President Joe Biden were responsible for the failed PRO-IP Act. Typical politician. I wonder how much money this guy is getting. [editline]17th October 2010[/editline] FYI, when Massachusetts decriminalised small amounts of marijuana, local law enforcement at first tried to enforce the law by handing out citations to people caught in public with marijuana, but pretty much gave up after a few months.
Sorta knew this would happen... Even if it's legal in state federal bodies like FBI, CIA, Border Patrol, Coast Guard, Military Police can still book you. Even though they'll most likely just smack you on the wrist they can still book you.
Ok. English guy here. I'm so fucking confused over what could happen if this proposition goes through. Let me get this straight. * The Federal Body would consider weed illegal. * The State body would consider weed legal. * If you smoked up at home, the police, who answer to the state wouldn't arrest you * But technically, any federal police (the only body I could think of is the FBI, but I'm sure that they have better things to be doing) could arrest you for doing exactly the same thing. And the state police couldn't stop them? * If you got arrested for something else, I dunno, a brick of cocaine or something. If you showed up in court, you would be tried under.... federal law? And so even though can't be arrested for it, you could be tried for possestion of both the coke AND the weed? God this is confusing.
Something that's been going on for ages really. Who has more power, State or Federal? The answer for me, neither. The People do. We put the god damn politicians in-charge by us voting them in. Personally, fire the retards who claim they're going to " keep enforcing it. " It's our fucking country, not yours. IF we want to make something legal, then it'll be legal, and you won't enforce shit or you won't get re-elected. Simple.
I think you misheard, could've sworn that's the sound of federal government upholding federal law.
Even if that means completely ignoring what the people want (the whole idea of democracy is that the government listens to the people and acts of their demands, not vice versa). I'm entirely up to speed with American politics and how the law works over there, of course, but I got the general impression that, as a 'democratic' nation, if state holds a vote on something and it passes then it seems that for the government to then say "fuck you, we don't care what you think" is pretty undemocratic.

A majority of people voted 'yes'. Just because something is democratic does not mean it is automatically 'right', as that attitude essentially supports the tyranny of the majority. In a true democratic nation the needs for all citizens are accounted for, not just the majority. Don't get me wrong, I support gay marriage and I do believe in cannabis legalization but I think the way to go about legalization is through federal rather than state means.
Erm.... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101016/ap_on_re_us/us_marijuana_legalization_justice "We will continue as we are today regardless of whether it passes or doesn't pass," Baca said. His deputies don't and won't go after users in their homes, but public use of the drug will be targeted, he said. Basically they can't bust people in their own homes and on private property but if they do it in public which they are not allowed to in the first place federal cops will be able to give a bigger fine than state cops.
I'm smoking this next bowl for you, Holder ... in hopes that you will chill the fuck out you fascist cunt. I also love that kaven went through this thread and rated "Dumb" every post that expressed disappointment in Holder's actions, yet hasn't seemed to construct an opinion anywhere in this thread. I'm genuinely curious what it is. Additionally, what happened to state's rights? I seem to recall that being important somehow!
This guy is either an absolute retard or he wants to keep a high paycheck.
They're all a bunch of big babies.
Good one, I see you enjoy your sin taxes that really only affect the poor.
The poor really should spend money on something else. Like food or education so they are no longer poor.
Canada better be on its way to legalization.

Its government was designed under the ideals of a democracy, but the technical limitations made it so that the easiest option was representation via the House and the Senate.
I think you misheard, could've sworn that's the sound of federal government upholding federal law.
Really? What I heard was the sound of the Feds suppressing States rights.
The poor really should spend money on something else. Like food or education so they are no longer poor.
Right, cause it's totally that simple.
I swear if I lived in CA when it was legalized and some DEA officer tried to arrest me, I would kick their fucking ass for assaulting me.
Scrawning Facepuncher vs a trained DEA officer? Uhm, not to mention that he has a taser
The only people who would be capable of doing anything to you would be Federal agents, such as the ATF, DEA, CIA, and FBI. The CIA has other shit to worry about then some dude smoking pot, the FBI wouldn't really give a shit, the ATF deals with weed on a rare basis, and the DEA will be in helicopters above California trying to spot outdoor grow locations, and pretty much initiate a state wide crackdown on weed. Because they have absolutely NOTHING BETTER TO DO.
The sheriff they quoted is retarded. How the hell is prop 19 unconstitutional?
Um yeah the state has a right to make laws about these things. If the federal government really does try it's hardest to directly oppose a state law that makes sense then that really says something about the Union. I'd like to see how well the US does without California, the state with a large percentage of the military bases, the largest technology industry, the largest entertainment industry and a large part of the farming industry. Also lol guess I'm a "State rights suceed herpaderpa" person. [editline]17th October 2010[/editline] also legalize drugs shut down the DEA, would destroy organized crime.
Obama needs walk on over to the DoJ and start firing people
Would be badass. [editline]17th October 2010[/editline]
The sheriff they quoted is retarded. How the hell is prop 19 unconstitutional?
He smokes too much weed to understand.
Right, cause it's totally that simple.
"The cost of a pack of cigarettes averages around $4.50 to $5, including taxes, depending on where you live. Using the lower number, a pack-a-day smoker burns through about $31.50 per week, or $1,638 per year. That's a fat house payment or a nice vacation with the family. A 40-year-old who quits smoking and puts the savings into a 401(k) earning 9% a year would have nearly $250,000 by age 70" So yeah It really is that simple.
I'd like to see the government try to stop the marijuana industry in california.
The poor really should spend money on something else. Like food or education so they are no longer poor.
You shouldn't spend money on ANY entertainment, in fact just get off your computer right now and buy yourself lunch.
I'd like to see the government try to stop the marijuana industry in california.
They already did with the highly successful War on Drugs (TM)
This clause asserts and establishes the Constitution, the federal laws made in pursuance of the Constitution, and treaties made by the United States with foreign nations as "the Supreme Law of the Land"
:eng99:
You shouldn't spend money on ANY entertainment, in fact just get off your computer right now and buy yourself lunch.
cigarettes and alcohol are not entertainment, the are luxury goods. Entertainment however is also a luxury. So if i was poor your statement would be good advice as it is 12:44 pm and I should be at work trying to not become poor.
