This is bullshit. Where's my freedom?
In the hands of the corporations running this world.
Holy fucking shit. This is just wrong.
So far from what I understand, the initial countries are:
US
EU
Japan
Australia
Canada
Mexico
A few others, i have forgotton.
Who is eligible to fuck the assholes of their citizens because of corporate greed?
Anyone who is in the WTO.
I didn't realise the whole of the EU was a country.
I didn't realise the whole of the EU was a country.
It's an union. So when I say EU, i mean every country under the EU.
Like:
Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, etc.
Are there any American parties opposed to this? This is fucking scary.

I don't even see the relation to Obama in this. Clinton, McCain and every possible candidate would have done the exact same thing.

You don't know that.
You don't know that.
Seeing as every other western government seems to love the shit out of this bill, yes i do.
It doesn't matter who would have done what. This is a huge problem and in my opinion, has less to do with piracy and more to do with government wanting more control of information.

It's not the government.
It's the companies.

Companies lobbying the government.
just like counter strike
Companies lobbying the government.
Companies that pay into their Campaigns to get them re-elected.
Because there is -nothing- the government gets out of this, it's just companies not wanting to deal with civil court.

McCain would focus on other things, like immigration im sure. Other candidates, probably not.. hind sight is 20/20 ya know.

Because its the WTO?
i like how they pulled the census here in canada because it was "too invasive" (only 3 people have complained in a decade) but they let this go through
Still confused, so... only if we go through airports? I don't really understand, I think it's because I'm American. Anyone care to explain?
Anywhere, from what I believe.
They can show up at your house and take you in just like that.
They can lock you up and serve a full sentence, just like that.
Unless this is a new revision, and they've done away with those things.
This is just insane.
I was really not expecting piracy to become this big of an issue with this much punishment this quickly.
Of all the things you can do wrong is downloading DVDs or games really worth all of this shit?

Is them losing a small amount of money, writing it in a different field and lying about losing a greater mount of money, worth losing your freedoms over?
no it is not. Don't let the minority ruin it for the majority

what about norway? its not in EU
what about norway? its not in EU
Ok, keeping this straight.
if you're not in the countries listed, you're clear for now.
But keep in mind, if your country is apart of the WTO, it can be a matter of time. Read the damn PDF.

As far as my English goes, it's easier to get your ass in jail for it.
And the rest is unreadable(well hard to understand for me.).
Well fuck, so any cop can come around your house and demand your computer, that's great... Fuck this, we need some anti-corporation thing to go against that.
I don't even see the relation to Obama in this. Clinton, McCain and every possible candidate would have done the exact same thing.
Well, other than him telling you the relevance of it, the other connection is the irony. Most people voted for Obama like he was an absolute Saint, here for the pure interest of the American people.
I don't know what you think, but I think corps are being over-confident and a little bit too big for their britches. One day this soda-pop is going to be shaken a too much and it's going to pop. Perhaps I have too much faith in people these days, but I do believe people will do something about this when it becomes too unbearable.
Perhaps I have too much faith in people these days, but I do believe people will do something about this when it becomes too unbearable.
Unfortunately, the media seems to decide what is bearable for the people today.
Did you see (next to the Internet of course) any media reports on ACTA? If you have seen some (which i didn't), did they even see it from a critical viewpoint?
As long as the whole population of a country relies on media for their opinion there is going to be no big fight but only sparse protest which can be easily suppressed by the government.
If this passes, somebody needs to take it to court. There is so much of the U.S. Constitution that this is in blatant violation of, and I'm sure it's a similar case in other countries. If the Supreme Court actually sees this there is no way it can remain in place.
