You're more likely to hand over stuff to a thief who has a weapon aren't you? Only in a very tiny number of instances do thieves actually take weapons with them with the intention of severely harming people, they're just to scare people, basically In the UK loads of burglars have used fake firearms for those exact reasons. [editline]23rd August 2012[/editline] Anyway, I still can't see why anyone would rate this winner. The sword was obviously being used to scare people so he could get along with stealing stuff, and obviously no one deserves to die for robbing a store
If it were me (and I had a sword) I would have taken him on in a sword fight, just so he thought he had a fair shot. And before anyone says anything - I was in the SCA for a while. I know how to handle a sword. Granted, I haven't actually handled one in a while so I'm probably a bit rusty but I know what the fuck I'm doing.
Why would you be bringing a sword to Dairy Queen for self defense? What if someone came in with a gun and all you had was a sword?
While I agree that killing someone in self-defense is sometimes unavoidable and that you shouldn't punish people for doing so, the death of a thief certainly isn't "winner" Someone's died and I don't care if they were a robber or not, have some decency people

I'm not dumb enough to rely on the fucking thing outside of events. I don't even know where my good one went, all I can find is the ornamental one.
Is it just me or when people decide to attack someone/rob some place that when they decide what sword to use they always pick a katana/samurai sword/some Asian sword?

You do whatever is in your power to stop someone as quickly as you can while minimizing the risk of collateral damage. If there was no one behind the guy I'd shoot before I ever bothered to draw a sword.
I guess you could say he got his just desserts
You honestly can't make this shit up.
he dishonor family he must commit sudoku
or a nodachi. :v
it's a goddamn ak-47 why do i have to keep telling you people
Can anyone explain how a robber being killed is "winner"?
Can anyone explain how a robber being killed is "winner"?
it's basically a Darwin Award for the robber, only instead of a freak rocket-dildo accident or whatever it was just a Dairy Queen employee who didn't want to get robbed. most people are probably thinking that it's better that the robber got shot for his own immense stupidity than if he had succeeded.
most people are probably thinking that it's better that the robber got shot for his own immense stupidity than if he had succeeded.
Well those people are dicks. Fucking hell, being stupid and a robber doesn't mean you deserve to die. I mean a while back many people in SH were showing disgust at the celebratory reaction to Bin Laden's death, but now i'm seeing the same sort of reaction shown towards a small-time robber ffs

I know this might come to a shock, but life sucks. But we still want to live, so whenever someone starts threatening someone's life, they should be thinking of themselves and those around them. Not the robber/whatever's life. Unless something really OBVIOUS is preventing the person from ever hurting anyone, it's considered a life or death situation. And I shit you not, at that point, I'd rather shoot that person than finding out if they were just pretending or about to kill me. There are a lot of cases where robbers have straight out murdered the cashiers AFTER taking the money. Noone should be taking that chance.
