• Microsoft to launch an app in attempts to rival Steam

GFWL ruins games. I just cannot play with that shit anymore. Makes me download LIVE, not allow me to play without shitty updates for LIVE, and pretty much they all have matchmaking which is terrible and I will never leave dedicated servers ever. Matchmaking ruined Red Faction Guerrilla multiplayer for me, my god that system is terrible because of the low population on the game, it takes an hour to get a full game of 5 for the fucking deathmatch. And it is impossible to get anything more than that. [editline]05:25PM[/editline] Dedicated servers are one of the benefits that PCs have over consoles - the system is so much easier, better, basically everything.
all steam has to do is remove VAC and microsoft will abandon the idea
all steam has to do is remove VAC and microsoft will abandon the idea
Are you stupid? Remove VAC? Thats like abandoning the idea of Rcon passwords and server admins
They will try, but they will fail.
That would be hard to do without the EU going "LOLOLOL antitrust"
Fixed, the US doesn't care as long as Microsoft keeps paying their taxes.
Has anyone else noticed that it looks like an exact montage between iTunes and STEAM?
all steam has to do is remove VAC and microsoft will abandon the idea
Why would Valve ditch VAC? We already have enough problems with hacks that don't get detected by VAC.
"Games for Windows Live is proud to announce 25% off all major titles!" "Steam is proud to announce 50% off all major titles!" "Fuck."
Stick to operating systems. I think that's why vista sucked, Microsoft should focus all their energy on their OS' instead of splitting up into a million parts and sucking at everything.
I love Microsoft, but this is just.... I can't take it. This is going to fail HARD. [editline]10:13PM[/editline] 5th page Ninja.
Oh god. Fuck microsoft. All their game related apps/software sucks and the creators should be shot.
Wow. Get off Windows then. Oh, and also, forget about the Xbox 360. And word. And Excel, powerpoint, rest off office package. And internet explorer. Only kidding.
games on demand suck but games on demand made microsoft
Not sure why anyone would fall for this. Microsoft doesn't even make PC games anymore let alone care about them. At least the other DD providers actually like PC gaming.
FFFFFFFFFFFF hahahaahaha, I love the naivity of most of facepunch. Do you honestly think any corporation gives a flying fuck past the moment you've purchased whatever? Customer support is there to make you feel like they give a fuck and to get you to buy more crap off them, and how on earth do you expect someone like steam to sell console games?
oh wow this is stupid just pure stupid.
Games for Windows Live is about as welcome as bringing your crackbaby along for thanksgiving dinner.
Let me point it out again... Microsoft just are good enough making operating systems and that sorta shit. Infact, fucking hell, Bill Gates and Microsoft have enough fucking money, the greedy twats.

the only thing that makes Windows better than mac is DirectX.
paying the developers for exclusive distribution rights
They had better not or its :black101: for them!
Microsoft should stop interfering with games. GTA IV would be twice as awesome and two times less laggy, easier to hold savegames and play multiplayer without that piece of shit GFWL. It supposedly isn't supported in my country for no apparent reason so I had to make an account with the country set as USA. It works. But it's still shit and I can't play with my friends because it decides I can't play with them because it's so fucking stupid. Same goes for EFLC coming out 360 exclusive. All the above have happened because Microsoft paid Rockstar. :crying:
:siren::rant::siren: Okay, Microsoft's gonna fuck it up right from the start. They'll likely make it a paid service, with Win7 compatibility only (forcing everyone to abandon Vista [and in my case XP, the lovable thing]), and the games will probably be unable to run without online activity (no offline mode, like in Steam). Then, later on, they'll address these things. Everyone will probably have switched over to Win7/Win8, and they'd likely allow offline mode too. However, this would be after a number of months. However, they'll probably have problems with updates, and no customization will be available, or it will be buyable from the Microsoft store (No freely downloadable backgrounds, only bought through whatever this system will be called). Also, they will probably never allow any third party/rival games to be released (no mod support and anything Sony or Nintendo will never be released). And finally, they'll only include games that are recent to the time of it's introduction, maybe the last 5-8 years. So, no Half Life and it's mods (they probably wouldn't even sell them), no Red Faction I, no X-COM, no Fallout, no Max Payne, etc. / :siren::rant::siren:
I like the sound of MicroValve better.
thought you said microwave
let me guess the name. Vapor? Smoke? Fog?
Steam for ever
Sounds absolutely horrendous.
The problem is that they will most likely bundle this with Windows and as such will end up 'dominating' the market either way, although we'll always know which is better.
They can't anymore, even IE isnt packed with win7 anymore.
What the hell is Microsoft's problem lately? Microsoft I am disappoint. :colbert:
You don't have to like Microsoft to like Windows. Apple and its products are irrelevant.
Yeah, kinda how I like the iPhone, but I don't like Macs.
:sigh:
I think Microsoft sees everything as a Pokemon situation. They believe there are already people out there, owning the market, but they can be the up-and-coming hero of the story. This usually does not work out as they plan.
