• Study: Marijuana Doesn't Affect Driving Performance
And if marijuana was legal, so would stoned driving. That wouldnt change. Yes, heroin is used for pain relief, so is morphine, and heroin is about as addictive as alcohol, and only slightly more damaging to the body. Your point?
Drug-driving is illegal. He was saying that alcohol causes more accidents than marijuana. But that's not the point - marijuana causes crashes, no matter how many more crashes alcohol causes. Heroin is much more dangerous and addictive than alcohol - you go through alcohol withdrawal during a hangover. Alcohol isn't used industrially for pain relief. The only use I can think for it in medicine is as an antiseptic and a cure for methanol poisoning. You can't really compare it.
Yeah, and I pretty much agree with that. But support for Marijuana would definitely falter until all that remained were the hardcore freedom activists if it was discovered to cause cancer or something.
Drinking causes liver failure, yet a majority of the population drinks. Also, above.
You have a point, but look at cigarettes. They cause cancer, yet everyone still smokes them.
There are reasons for that, back, what, 40 years ago? No one was told the dangers and addiction of Cigarettes, people have stuck with that habit, because it's addictive and they just plain don't have the willpower to stop.
New smokers are showing up all of the time.
Something to do with wanting a stress reliever, and seeing their parents smoking.
Always?
Peer pressure too, I can't really imagine why else, maybe you genuinely enjoy it
I've smoked a couple cigarettes in the past for shits and giggles and I must say, I can see how some people enjoy the taste. They weren't bad. People have said I'm odd for saying that, but whatever. I never made a habit of it because what you get from them is not worth the money you spend.
I can agree with the taste thing, but what it causes is not worth the not so good taste
Friends band member drives baked all the time, apparently has never crashed. I still wouldn't risk it though, driving under the influence of anything that can influence you is dangerous enough for me.
I have never, ever even come close to crashing my car while high. Destroyed my brand new $45,000 sports car on one 30 mg oxycontin, but I haven't even come close to accidently scratching the paint after smoking a few joints. Of course, there will always be exceptions to this. People who are shitty drivers while they're sober are probably going to be shitty drivers while they're high too, but that doesn't mean you can blame the weed.
I disagree, when I tried smoking weed it completely screwed up my perception of time, there is no way I would have been able to drive like that.

I drive poorly as it is. If I used drugs, I would get myself killed.
My cousin crashed while high.
I wouldn't drive at like chink eyed level
His experiences > Everything else ever? Man, science is great when it works like that!
I also hate this. People who support marijuana will get on everyone else and use false thinking and logic that doesn't add up. But when someone else even remotely makes a connection like a marijuana supporter would, the marijuana supporter gets his/her panties in a bunch and becomes defensive.
Drinking causes liver failure, yet a majority of the population drinks. Also, above.
Correction. EXCESS DRINKING causes liver failure. People get into trouble when they generalize. If we can't generalize for weed you can't generalize for our poisons.
as someone who smokes alot of bud, i have to disagree with this. If you smoke enough, i'd bet you can easily crash your car. Not to mention the drowsyness. it really depends on how much you smoke. That's not a problem though, as most of the time you'd just be driving down shopping districts slowly looking for SOMEWHERE TO FUCKING EAT.
Yeah, for sure. I've driven high plenty of times, and it's no problem, but it goes without saying that being waaayyyy stoned off your ass and driving is a bad idea. Yeah, sure, marijuana may not adversely affect the performance of drivers as much as people would think, but I still wouldn't be against driving laws similar to alcohol as long as the drug was legalized.
As a pot smoker, I'd have to say that is false. The one time I drove under the influence, I ended going way too fucking slow and hesitating like hell at stop lights. Granted, I was probably pretty safe, but it definitely effected my driving.
It's all how the person handles it. Personally, I drive great when i'm high, though there is a perception difference, making me a bit more cautious.. You can't say the same for everyone though. The person next to me could smoke a spliff and be driving 20 in a 40 zone.
If an anti-weed website proved that Weed gave you cancer, you'd all be calling bullshit [editline]03:33PM[/editline] Where are you getting this bullshit Heroin may be as addictive as alcohol, sure whatever, but there is no fucking way in hell that it's just as dangerous as alcohol. Heroin is in a whole league of its own, it is THE most dangerous drug.
No, it really, really, really isnt. Crack, meth, huffers, and some other shit are FAR worse for the body than heroin. Heroin is as damaging as morphine, thats not very bad, heroin is slightly more addictive than morphine, thats the only problem.
this study concludes that drugs do not change the way you react to things around you... they don't change how alert you are or in fact any of your functions what the fuck is the point of them then?
Still would be a good idea not to smoke pot while driving
Still would be a good idea not to smoke pot while driving
If you removed the 'while driving', that would be more accurate.
My cousin crashed while high.
That doesn't mean the fact he was high was to blame for the crash. This is a debate in the stoner group. In fact, if you go to the drug section there's a poll that stands almost completely 50-50.
Bullshit.
