If you have Amazon prime, the premium edition is up and you get 20% off. My total came out to $77.03. I had no idea this was coming out for PS3 as well, looks like I won't have to miss this one.
I could care, but I don't have a PS3/PS4. Not to mention I don't play consoles that much anymore. Come to think of it Persona 4 Golden was one of the last console games I bought. Time to get your shit to PC Atlus.

As much as I'd love it to come to PC I don't see it happening for a long time, if ever. I have a PS3 that I might just get it for, but really it going to depend on the E3 news net week about an updated PS4 version
You can rest easy, Sega's doing the publishing, not Nintendo. After all the shit surrounding Tokyo Mirage Sessions and the censoring done with that game, I was a little worried :v:

If it is the same voice quality as P4 I'll be okay with it
If it is the same voice quality as P4 I'll be okay with it
Making it as good as P4 is easy. But P5 somehow found the budget to hire Jun Fukuyama, Mamoru Miyano, and Tomokazu Sugita. Like, what an amazing all star cast that is. How the fuck are they supposed to one-up that with english voices actors v- okay?? ?
eat shit atlus ffs can you just catch up to the rest of the industry yet or what
They could even make it a DLC, I'm sure a lot of people would buy it. I know I would.
I imagine at some point there will be a FES or Golden style rerelease that has the japanese.
Two words. Steve. Blum.
Ok, now we need some late highschool voices. Decent male voices for that shouldn't be too hard (yosuke was pretty g!) but I'll just come out and say what I think and generalise as much as I want: Young female english voice actors SUCK. Every character just falls to shit. I can just feel the verbal flatness that comes from having a paper script directly between their mouth and the microphone as they spit out their lines. On their throat is a dial with clunky increments that they use to change their tone. Except a select few, none have that fine control over their comedic timing either, those critical millisecond differences that can make or break a punchline. The Trial of the Dragon scene in P4 is the perfect benchmark for this because it's a memorable but only a sorta-funny scene. Both anime versions are better than the game because slapstick animation and dub only wins out mildly because the translation was really loose and I personally don't think Yui Horie was too flash in the first place. But then there's the game versions. Jap > original Chie > Golden Chie. The Japanese was funny because it was straight up despair in the voice over a mere DVD, then the original english Chie voices adds a dash of melodrama, but then the new VA in Golden somehow manages to cram in some lisp and voice crack into it and sounds less like haha horror and more like a hissyfit. Credit where it's due though this VA is way better the second time around once they did the voice for the anime dub. Except that won't have a chance to happen here. For several years, the only version of Persona 5 is going to be Persona 5. No redoes, no actor changes, no complete verbal makeovers.
I imagine at some point there will be a FES or Golden style rerelease that has the japanese.
Neither of those had japanese included, so why would a P5 re-release do that? [editline]fuck[/editline] And jesus christ I really seriously want to hear the japanese male VAs. The main three are fucking legends, they've got so many great characters. If you asked me to pick a favourite I'd be here for hours and hours. I feel like elixwhitetail right now, this is first time in years I've been this annoyed to write so much. [editline]8th June 2016[/editline]
They could even make it a DLC, I'm sure a lot of people would buy it. I know I would.
I sure fucking would. E: and in advance: no replies saying "why do you hate your own language" or any bullshit like that. The thing I want here is a choice. The choice between experiencing the game fully natively or experiencing the game as close as you can to the original without having to learn moonrunes
eat shit atlus ffs can you just catch up to the rest of the industry yet or what
This whole dub only thing needs to go away, honestly. They could hire the best cringy anime VAs in the industry and I still dislike the dub. If the american public are weirded out by the japanese language, why not just have english default and let us change it in options?
If the american public are weirded out by the japanese language, why not just have english default and let us change it in options?
You've just described the industry standard.
You've just described the industry standard.
Too bad Atlus still believes the western fanbase cannot EVER have the opportunity to listen to japanese or they might open Pandora's box or some crap.
Too bad Atlus still believes the western fanbase cannot EVER have the opportunity to listen to japanese or they might open Pandora's box or some crap.
OH NO REVERSE IMPORTING! Except the UI is in english, which includes all dialogue choices. And social links aren't voiced neither are the pop-up boxes explaining things. So even with dual audio, you still need to READ english fluently to play the game properly. If Square Enix has dual audio for Final Fantasy, and Sega has dual audio for Valkyria Chronicles (these two are just the absolute tip of the iceberg), how is Atlus risking ANYTHING with dual audio? [editline]9th June 2016[/editline] Atlus is also fucking owned by Sega now. For once I'm actually praying for executive meddling
If the vocal SMT fanbase haven't gotten dual audio, yet I fear there never will be any dual audio in any SMT games or its' spinoff games. Then again it seems only Atlus has an issue with this, if it's so hard because voice actors need more revenue for having their voice worldwide. Why not just make it a DLC with a hefty price tag like they did with G-senjou? This all-star lineup of VAs though makes it even harder for Atlus to start realizing that dual audio should be in their games anyways.
