Poll of 1000.
Because 1000 people are the voice of the entire population.
That's kinda how polls and statistics work
But he works in mysterious ways.
Look, it depends how you interpret this stuff, and it depends if you believe in God or not. All this makes sense to someone who believes in God, but I guess you just can't.
Well then lets get some explaining going. How does god answer their prayers, an interdimensional pat on the back? Its obviously not physical, otherwise their would be proof of prayer working.

He's God, he can do whatever he wants. God is more powerful than you can comprehend, what with him supposedly making...everything...ever.
He's God, he can do whatever he wants. God is more powerful than you can comprehend, what with him supposedly making...everything...ever.
If the idea of god is on logically shaky(this means illogical) grounds, then the idea of that same god answering prayers is even more illogical.
He's God, he can do whatever he wants. God is more powerful than you can comprehend, what with him supposedly making...everything...ever.
Why do I get the feeling that you are convincing yourself that you are wrong?
He's God, he can do whatever he wants. God is more powerful than you can comprehend, what with him supposedly making...everything...ever.
What has that got to do with prayers being answered? Answering them implies he is making a response to something you just asked him about. So if I pray for a new bicycle and tomorrow a dead octopus is in my back yard, my prayers were answered?
Lots of people don't understand that God answers all prayers. However, sometimes his answer is "Fuck you."
Or to be more precise, "You have the power to do it yourself, douchebag."
What has that got to do with prayers being answered? Answering them implies he is making a response to something you just asked him about. So if I pray for a new bicycle and tomorrow a dead octopus is in my back yard, my prayers were answered?
I'm just saying that there doesn't have to be proof, he could make it look however he wants. I'm not very good at explaining things.

He's not fucking bilingual, ask him in english, maybe you'll get a bike then.
I'm just saying that there doesn't have to be proof, he could make it look however he wants. I'm not very good at explaining things.
There doesn't have to be proof, but still you claim that he is answering the prayers.
There doesn't have to be proof, but still you claim that he is answering the prayers.
Which is where faith comes in, which is up to your logic and beliefs to decide whether it's true or not.
I'm just saying that there doesn't have to be proof, he could make it look however he wants. I'm not very good at explaining things.
But then, if you choose to 'interpret' god answers, there is a limitless amount of outcomes of your prayers. If you pray for a hot air balloon and tomorrow your alarm goes off 10 minutes early, you could interpret that as a response.
There doesn't have to be proof, but still you claim that he is answering the prayers.
Did I mention that I don't believe in prayer, and that I'm really just trying to tell people to be tolerant of people's beliefs?
Did I mention that I don't believe in prayer, and that I'm really just trying to tell people to be tolerant of people's beliefs?
When those beliefs are harmful, you should try to help others away from them.

Yep yep, like I said, faith.
Did I mention that I don't believe in prayer, and that I'm really just trying to tell people to be tolerant of people's beliefs?
No one is being intolerant, you've just provoked an argument on how god answers prayers, and now we are discussing it.
When those beliefs are harmful, you should try to help others away from them.
That's true, but most of the believers aren't harmful, and it's really no different from someone just plain being crazy, except religion just gives them a reason.

People losing faith in America is pretty intolerant. I'm not saying that god answers prayers (at least I'm trying not to :( ) I'm saying that it depends on how you interpret things.
Also, does anyone notice that all the gods read How-to-be-a-God for dummies, because they all "answer to your prayers, but just don't do it directly, because they can do whatever they want"?
That's true, but most of the believers aren't harmful, and it's really no different from someone just plain being crazy, except religion just gives them a reason.
And without religion, you wouldn't have a reason to hate gay people or people of different faiths. You could form your own morals, your own communities, without being threatened with eternity of pain and misery if you don't believe the whole thing.
If god is the omnipotent diety that most religions believe him to be, praying for something and thus denying the religion-given idea of him knowing what is best for you is pretty much blasphemy in my eyes.
If you pray, you think you know better than the god you are praying to.
And without religion, you wouldn't have a reason to hate gay people or people of different faiths. You could form your own morals, your own communities, without being threatened with eternity of pain and misery if you don't believe the whole thing.
There would still be religion, just not as we know it, as humans will always want to create a way to explain things without hard work.
I guess if religion disappeared now, with all knowledge, we'd not have any need to get religion, but that can't really happen.

A couple prayed for their childs sickness, a fatal one, to go away rather than take him to the doctor. Yeah, that's not harmful at all.
Yep yep, like I said, faith.
Huh? What? How does faith explain it? Every single possible thing that happens after your prayer could be a possible outcome. More over, YOU are going to choose which outcome best fits the response to your prayer. Thats self-delusion, you are just answering your own prayer.

I guess people would rather take the easy way than use logic and reasoning.

The easy and comforting way, can you blame them?

Which brings us back a page when somebody said that prayer is a placebo.

It's HOW YOU INTERPRET IT. Why is that so hard for you to understand?
Ignorance is bliss. I just with that we could just cast away this fighting over who is right and worry about more important things. Not kill each other over what the other believes.
Which brings us back a page when somebody said that prayer is a placebo.
Placebo effects aren't all positive.

That's not the fault of religion. People will always search and find something to use as an excuse for agression.
Most religions state that even if you don't believe in god and follow the active church, doing your own way and following your own good conscience is already living in the way that a god would want us to live.
The church is more of a guidance for those who have trouble than a spiritoual tax everyone has to pay.
At least that's what a protestant priest told me.
I'm not religious by the way. Or at least I try not to be. Of course sometimes you get thoughts about it because it makes things easier.
