The G-Man wouldn't talk about his own game. He doesn't even speak to his friends or enemies.
If anyone would though, it would be the GMan. He's some form of transdemensional super being, it wouldn't be entirely unprecedented for him to step through the fourth wall briefly, if only making a subtle allusion.
Until Valve actually confirms a Half-Life 3, I'm going to have my doubts on this.
Wake up and smell the hrmmphhrrphhrm
Until Valve actually confirms a Half-Life 3, I'm going to have my doubts on this.
I still don't get why people keep talking about Half-Life 3.
I still don't get why people keep talking about Half-Life 3.
I think Episode 3 and Half Life 3 are used semi-interchangeably. I use them both depending on my mood, but either way I mean "The next game in the Half-Life series". Really, it's just arguing about the name, and it isn't a huge deal(at least not to me).
only about uh, 7 hours late? (User was banned for this post ("Posting just to say late" - Orkel))
And a pun too.
only about uh, 7 hours late? (User was banned for this post ("Posting just to say late" - Orkel))
7 hour war Half-life 3 confirmed [editline]2nd May 2012[/editline] Holy shit ninja
Now hold up, let me dissect this. "Wake up and smell the ashes." This phrase has 22 letters, split into 6 words. There are 2 l's next to each other, which kind of looks like the number 11. 22/11 is 2. What's 6/2? THREE. (Half Life 2: Episode THREE) What is the closest year that ends in 3? 2013 Now, IGN has 3 letters in it, and Gabe Newell is number 1, so if we put this all together, it's 201331. Now let's reverse that (except for the year of course) and add some slashes, and we get 1/3/2013. Episode 3 confirmed for January 3rd, 2013

I really hope he has a more pronounced role in EP3, his intentions are a complete mystery. You seem to be going against his wishes and the wishes of his "employers" based on what he's clued us in on and judging from how visibly annoyed he was when the Votigaunts freed you in EP1. on the other hand he personally seems to want you to run around granted some conditions (Eli evidently) seeing as he can essentially pluck you up when ever he wants but doesn't and how he continues to make sure that you have everything you need even though you've essentially gone AWOL. Really I have no idea how much this is the Vortigaunts shielding you and how much of it is Gman's ambitions based on some plan of ambiguous nature. Basically we have no idea what the fuck he's going to do next. Generally I just want more scenes like the one in EP2 where he stops in occasionally to have a chat because that whole sequence is a Highlight for me.
It would be cool if they released a trailer for Ricochet 2, then halfway through the trailer the G-Man "hijacks" is and starts talking about Episode 3.
Imagine the sound in the room when that happens, total silence first, and then Gman's white sliding door thing opens and he slowly walks out and stuff. Everyone in there would go insane.

Meanwhile on Earth, humanity fights for their lives along the stranded Combine (while elites and soldiers are still "enemies", Civil Protection could join the humans again). That could be the surprising last half of the game, while the first half deals with the Borealis stuff.
I refuse to believe because I want to believe.

Also, I was thinking- What if the dev time is this long because the game will be 20 hours long or something?

pitch darkness at E3 2012, audience is unsure of what just happened, power failure? all of a sudden, this plays: everyone is crying/screaming, lights slowly go up, Gabe is already on stage with a crowbar in hand, "are you not entertained?!", chucks the thing into the audience, hits someone in the head, paramedics are called, show is cancelled, Valve issues public apology
More like: >pitch black screen >white text saying "HALF-LIFE 3" comes up, then fades away >picture opens up >intro credits start rolling >player gains control of movement
> valve Guy in intro > RICHOCHET 2! I can actually believe they do this.
it will be left 4 dead 3 and you know it to be true.
Regardless if it is true we have been getting more and more rumors regarding hl3. Gabe actually acknowledge it being worked on as "ricochet 2" :P and now this. Even though it might be fake i have a gut feeling that something might be around the corner in terms of an announcement of it officially within the next year or so.
I'm here to crush your hopes. http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/05/02/gabe-we-are-not-announcing-anything-at-e3-really/
more like E3 begins E3 happens E3 ends without any Half-Life news. Again.
Only thing I find weird about Gabes email is he actually called it Half Life 3, I mean, in the interview recently he referred to it as Ricochet 2
I don't understand why Valve has waited so long on the franchise that made them famous. Then again, Activision really shit the bed with Call of Duty after the first three and went gonzo, so maybe that's why they're taking it easy.
My excitement for E3 rises by a tenfold, trying not to get my hopes too high in case this isn't true though.
I'm here to crush your hopes. http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/05/02/gabe-we-are-not-announcing-anything-at-e3-really/
:(
I had a dream a few weeks ago that Valve released an EP3 trailer out of nowhere. I don't remember much but it was fucking awesome, the whole trailer was done in CGI but looked amazing, the striders looked similar but had an overhaul, their 'faces' looked a lot more complicated with small tenticles.
CVG have highlighted a post on Valvetime which features words supposedly typed by the hands of Gabe himself: “We are not announcing anything at E3. Really. We are not announcing Half-Life 3 or Portal 3 or Left 4 Dead 3. We are going to be showing stuff everyone already knows about (CS:Go, Dota 2, 10′ UI)”
So much faith into a typed email (that could easily be doctored with firebug, etc.), not out of the mouth of Gaben himself...
