black works too
A friend of mine thinks it's "Meet the Pyro" and Valve's just really teasing us. Because, y'know, ashes. :v:
It's scary because Valve would do that.
It's scary because Valve would do that.
Don't you say that. Take it back!
those idiots claiming they don't give a shit anymore after waiting so long, i bet they are the first ones to jump and scream when the game comes out.
~so hip~
I think it's pretty far off for someone to stay as excited for hl3 as they for hl2. Personally i'm excited, but if you told me that hl3 was coming out in 2009 in late 08 i would have been significantly more excited.
I'm just worried about what valve will do with hl3, it's a different time now and what they did in 98 and 04 was brand new a fresh, now those games are considered stale in style aspects.
I think: At E3 they will say it wasn't true, but will instead release Ricochet 2, which when you complete it you will be able to access HL3.
Just thought I'd call it.
Why are you all calling it half life 3?
It's episode 3.
Why are you all calling it half life 3?
It's episode 3.
Why, have valve announced that to you?
People can call it what they want.
Never played all the games, but this sure is news!
Why, have valve announced that to you?

Every time they have referred to it they have mentioned it as Episode Three (except when asked by a fan if they revealed HL3 at E3). Game files call it Episode Three. They announced three episodes.
I think we can count on it being EP3 :v:
To be fair the closest official name for HL3 right now is Ricochet 2...
Didn't Gabe say that they're laying down the episodic system?
Why are you all calling it half life 3?
It's episode 3.
You don't know that any better than we do.
Nope. I'm not even pretending to get excited.
I can't be hurt if I'm not excited.
I'm 90% sure that this has nothing to do with Ep.3, and IGN is just being an attention whore. Like Nvidia with those Crowbars. They know that people will flip their shit at the smallest hint of any information regarding EP.3, and they exploit that.
[sp]Changer of Ways, please let me be wrong.[/sp]
I'm pretty sure this is all just ARG for Ricochet 2 guys
I smell a big fat troll we still haven't got dota 2, cs:go and meet the pyro.
Half-Life 2.1: Forever
Includes shit-throwing headcrabs and Vortigaunts with tits
Vortigaunts with tits
Would buy
This better be team fortress 3
Didn't Gabe say that they're laying down the episodic system?
Yes, he did. What he also said was that it was being abandoned in favor of a distribution system similar to that of Team Fortress 2, meaning really short release cycles for content, which is evidently not how Episode Three is being distributed given the development time. Obviously the episodic model didn't work, but either way it doesn't affect Episode Three, as it is the last installment in the trilogy. It's called Episode Three to keep continuity with previous titles.
If people had actually read the whole thing, they would understand that it didn't signal in any way that it had become Half-Life 3.
orange half-life 3 gives me "It works!"
Why are you all calling it half life 3?
It's episode 3.
Even if it is called episode 3, valve pretty much explained that the episodes are hl3 and ep3 is set to finish the episodes.
only about uh, 7 hours late?
(User was banned for this post ("Posting just to say late" - Orkel))
It's 7 hours long because he was caught in a war.
OH!
I want to believe...
You don't know that any better than we do.
There's a large amount of evidence supporting my claim.
Firstly, there are a lot of files in Alien Swarm and Dota 2 which have the label "episode 3" on them, this means that these files have some relation to episode 3.
Secondly, Valve have mentioned episode 3 several times through various commentary nodes, interviews and general comments to the community.
Thirdly, you have to finish off the current story arc. It would be illogical to have Episode 1, Episode 2, but then continue that story arc with Half Life 3. Half Life 3 would imply a new story arc. With Half Life 1 you had Opposing Force, Blue Shift and Decay; with Half Life 2 you have Episode 1, Episode 2, and Episode 3. (Not saying that it has to have 3 expansions, but these parts finish off the story arc).
And don't assume that because 6 years have passed since a major half life instalment, it instantly means that they have to release Half Life 3. Valve aren't Activision, they don't like to release sequels one-after-the-other at a constant rate at essentially the same dates.
Also don't assume that because too much time has passed since Episode 2 was released; that Valve can simply skip over a game because it's taken too long to make and go straight to Half Life 3.

That doesn't mean anything, because the support tweet probably was nothing either way
