Oh my god what if the game isn't good

IT'LL BE DNF ALL OVER AGAIN.
Relax , Its not possible for Valve to pull of a DNF
New mail
"New strings added to STS (224)"
Oh boy oh boy
"dota2/dota_en.txt: 224 strings updated"
I hate you, hope

If the mayor of Warsaw in 1546 could spontaniously combust, and Greece could win the 2007 world cup then Valve can pull a DNF.

I'm sorry but I'm certain that the moon will implode before Valve pulls a DNF.
There's a large amount of evidence supporting my claim.
Firstly, there are a lot of files in Alien Swarm and Dota 2 which have the label "episode 3" on them, this means that these files have some relation to episode 3.
Secondly, Valve have mentioned episode 3 several times through various commentary nodes, interviews and general comments to the community.
Thirdly, you have to finish off the current story arc. It would be illogical to have Episode 1, Episode 2, but then continue that story arc with Half Life 3. Half Life 3 would imply a new story arc. With Half Life 1 you had Opposing Force, Blue Shift and Decay; with Half Life 2 you have Episode 1, Episode 2, and Episode 3. (Not saying that it has to have 3 expansions, but these parts finish off the story arc).
And don't assume that because 6 years have passed since a major half life instalment, it instantly means that they have to release Half Life 3. Valve aren't Activision, they don't like to release sequels one-after-the-other at a constant rate at essentially the same dates.
Also don't assume that because too much time has passed since Episode 2 was released; that Valve can simply skip over a game because it's taken too long to make and go straight to Half Life 3.

time...is it really that..time again?
It seems.. as if you'd only just.. arrived...
Nope, couldn't keep a straight face.
The only tiny bit of hope for me is in the domain registration, that's all I'm going by.
Is it possible that IGN just said this because it was morning? That's what it seems like to me. The Valve tweet doesn't seem related to this at all, just them mentioning they have feeds.

I'm pretty sure I don't smell ashes unless something is burning.
So uh where does Valve say "Stay tuned"?
Journalism these days, I'm sure you know.

Obviously this wasn't a letdown.

And it had a LOT more hype than the Half Life games.

God Karl is such an idiot.
omgomgomg, can it be!?
Half-Life 2: Episode 2: Episode 1?
Since, 2+1=3

And this is why you don't push Valve.
Seriously tho after Portal 2 I have no doubts Episode 3 will live up to its predecessors and my expectations. I certainly wouldn't compare it to DNF or ME3. The former was a clusterfuck made by many completely different studios with different goals and philosophies, and ME3 decided to ditch narrative coherence for some unexplained reason in the final minutes. Can't say more about the latter because it's such a sudden change ins design philosophy, but unless Valve fires the HL3 team and puts a new one together for the final chapter, I doubt we'll see a repetition of events.
Plus, Valve isn't restricted by a shitty publisher like EA, or deadlines or resources. Making a great game is their primary objective, they have the luxury to think of everything else as secondary.
Hopefully, I am going to play the half life series again in anticipation.
I'm not believing anything until I hear something like this from Valve
I have been lied to long enough by gaming news outlets like IGN, I won't let it happen to me again.
But, but, Valve said "Stay tuned."
If this goes well, Valve are going to produce L4D 3 and Portal 3 :v:
Starting to hype for Episode 3 now would probably completely overshadow DOTA2 and CS:GO (which are from what I've heard pretty much just remastered version and don't generate that much attention to begin with), so I don't think it would be a smart move to start anything in that direction unless they plan on doing something across games like with Portal 2.
I'm more inclined to believe it's about Pyro.
Why the fuck would IGN quote HL2 then? Why not a quote pretaining to CS or Pyro or whatever the announcement is about.
It seems as if you only just arrived.
All the effort in the world would have gone to waste, untill... Valve thought that releasing half life 3 was probably a good idea.

I do apologize for what must seem to you an arbitrary imposition, supersoldier58. I trust it will all make sense to you in the course of... well... I'm really not at liberty to say. In the meantime... this is where I get off.

Valve Time: In Effect
EDIT: Just wait. We'll have an announcement in five weeks...
God Karl is such an idiot.
He is a genius.
But, but, Valve said "Stay tuned."
Where?
"Stay tuned?"
Don't tell me to stay tuned. I've been tuned for the last six years, asshole, I've got the tuning thing down pat.
Wait, where's the source on this other than IGN's twitter spitting a HL2 quote? Is there more to this or is IGN fucking with everyone?
Oh boy, I think this means that they're going to finally show us Ricochet 2!
