People who think like you are the reason the human race is so fucked. Not trusting others and believing that everyone has evil intentions. I'm not saying that calling the police is immediate lethal force, my point is that by calling the police you're escalating a situation that could be resolved by being a human and confronting your issues. I would bet that a good majority of people don't warn their neighbors when they're going to have a party but I would also bet that a good majority of those people would be willing to be quieter if you spoke to them about the noise issue.
What's more threatening in your eyes, your neighbor asking you to quiet down or the police? The police aren't there to be nice, they're there to enforce the law and when necessary, use lethal force.
I don't think anyone has evil intentions, you're the one who thinks people are evil for calling evil cops. I think some people are callous toward others and this thread is a prime example of people with no regard for police and their neighbors.
The cops aren't there to be nice? Yes they are. They did not kick in his door, draw their weapons or anything threatening. They showed up and said, "Keep it down." and then had to come back to write a citation. It was entirely the Zepedas and friends who escalated what could have been a peacefully resolved situation.
You know who doesn't warn their neighbors about a loud ass party that goes well into the night, shitty fucking neighbors. Anyone else with any sort of decency would respect those around them and give them a heads up, the fact that you think this sort of thing doesn't happen often really just shows how little you actually talk to your own neighbors because where I'm from and the people I know, it's the right thing to do.

Hahaha I'm done with you. No point in arguing with someone who doesn't even read your posts. Not once did I say people are evil for calling the cops. I simply stated that is would have been wiser to do the right thing and address the issue in person with said noisy neighbors instead of calling the cops. Cops should only be called when you feel your life is in danger or you've already exhausted all available solutions. The Zepedas are completely at fault for something that could have been prevented provided they
A: Respected their neighbors and weren't too loud.
or
B: Had been confronted about their loud music by the neighbor that was upset.
or
C: Fucked with the police.
Option C wouldn't be there if the neighbor who was upset just addressed the noise issue themselves.

It really sounds like you have never talked to anybody in the police before
Their job is to be nice, that's how you keep people calm.
(At least that's how it is where I live)
I'd say you have a pretty skewed view of them, remember that the media doesn't like to report on the good things they do. (It doesn't get as many readers)

I addressed everything you said in that previous post. You're talking completely out of your ass and making it sound like not only do you never talk to your neighbors, but also that you have an over-generalized view of law enforcement based entirely on news articles instead of personal experience.
The fact that you think cops aren't there to help, makes you look really stupid. These are people who have signed up to protect and help your sorry ass, be it helping you change a tire, giving you a ride, giving you directions, assisting in disagreements, responding to noise complaints or shooting someone trying to kill you. A few bad apples spoil the bunch and somehow you've managed to mistake the few and far between as being the entirety of law enforcement officers.
You're right though, there's no point in arguing, you have no clue what you're talking about.

"Haha, I'm done arguing with you, here are some more arguments"
You know, I figure it's pretty difficult to call the cops if your life was in danger...

The cops should be called when there's noice. In a lot of cases you need to report it so that it's on record if you want to file a complaint, and most people quiet the fuck down when the police arrive and tell them to turn down the music. These people decided to resist instead, even though they could have signed the fine and continued to party with less noise.
Besides, how many people are going to respect their neighbours when they are drinking? Pretty few wants to let the "grumpy" neighbour ruin their night, and considering these people chose to start fighting the police, the neighbour was right in not trying to tell them himself.
Welcome to society. That's how parties work. Instead of calling the cops like a weenie the complainant should have just gone and asked them to quiet down in person. Calling the cops is practically threatening and only escalated the situation.
While you said it abrasively, you're kind of right. People are more likely to listen if it's coming from a neighbor, rather than a cop.

Drunk people wouldn't. Especially if the neighbor has no say in their housing situation.

The only thing that would have changed if the neighbour went over instead of the police is that instead of them duking it out with the cops you'd have one person in hospital after getting curb stomped.
Have you ever tried to tell 20-30 drunk people to keep it down?
I highly fucking doubt that 10 police officers showed up for a noise complaint.
I lived in a huge college town with their own dedicated police department. Two cops would shut down parties with like 100 people.
I'm willing to bet that none of the home owners responded to the police at the door. Instead ignored the, so the cop called it in and other officers showed up as backup.
You got to ask, why did 10 cops show up? Why did they enter though the backyard? Why would see use force, specially when they know video cameras and many witnesses are going to be there?
We have like a split fucking second of the whole entire situation, I'm not going to make judgement based off of a completely bias video. Its also funny that the person organizing this event has an X at the end of his name, maybe he is fond of Malcolm X.

I can't speak for anyone else, but most house parties I've been to have kept it down when asked.
the title describes your average swat 4 session pretty accurately.
seems like the game was more realistic than I ever realised.
