no but you like strawmen. The more people get educated the more they will care about nature. niot to mention that over time there will be alternatives.
True. It's called "Cabela's Big Game Hunter". :v:
But honestly you probably know the meaning of Strawmen even less than I do.
If an animal poses a threat to local humans or there is an over blown population of said species which is causing problems in the area then by all means. However simply killing an animal that has caused no problems and seems to have no intention of causing any then I feel that animals should simply be left alone.
Well, that's true. But to some people Hunting for Sport a great release and pastime. Does it mean they're bloodthirsty wackos? No, it doesn't and it shouldn't.
I dunno if it was a massive bear and a possible threat to people I suppose it's not that big a tragedy.

I think my issue with this situation is, I assume this hunter does it for sport, but there isn't much sport in the way he killed it. I mean, I wouldn't want a gold medal in the sprint if I got a halfway headstart.

also if this discussion turns to 'hunting ethics' can we try and keep it civil. I've seen a lot of hunting threads turn ugly quick

That's my issue with the situation, too. I was just already in a "hunting ethics" discussion with carcarcargo.

Okay cool, I'm just hoping the thread doesn't devolve into name calling and logical fallacy arguments, as they often seem to on facepunch

Me, neither. In fact, I'll halt my arguing just to keep it civil.
What is the point of hunting if your pray is practically asleep when you find it? No challenge to it and not exactly "fair" since bears are hibernating this time of the year.
Doesn't seem right to shoot a bear, I mean a fox or any other game animal but this just seems strange
Richard Kendall is currently working on his latest book Prey on the weak: a microdick's guide to self proclaimed manhood
This is just field work.
I live in South Carolina, many many people hunt here including myself. You just don't kill an animal like that. It's an unwritten rule with hunters.
As people get smarter the less they will entertain them selves with killing.
I find it hilarious how you said that on a forum based off a mod for a violent video game.
You're basically saying that everyone on this forum is an idiot, which is partially true.

Games =! real life. No one actually dies in a game.
I would shit my self even go close a bears den with a rifle.
Shooting it outside had taken way less balls.

The concept is the same, it's still simulated violence.

Except no ones is hurt or dies.

Well I think there is a difference between wanting to kill someone in a videogame and in real life. Not to mention videogames could still be fun without blood (even though not to manyu people would buy it)
