Romney and Ryan were 'shellshocked' by loss, as their wives 'cried softly'

Hmm. Thank goodness Obama supporters turned out in the end. I was worried that Romney would get it simply because some people were disillusioned by Obama, but wouldn't vote Republican/vote for a nut like Romney, whereas most Republican supporters were motivated by all the things Republican supporters think will bring about the end of America, like gays and abortion...
I just find it pathetic how Romney wasn't backed because he was a good leader, but because he was the least insane person in a batch of recently released mental patients.
I do like the massive amount of racism and ignorance this campaign has exposed. Sickens me that people still think it's the 50's.
Popular vote was 49 to 50. So not really.

A landslide is a double digit spread. There was a ~1-2% spread.
Obama won with 332 electoral votes to Romney's 206. 126 point difference. Triple digit spread. Landslide. Obama had 60% more than Romney. Double digits there.

electoral landslide
not a popular landslide

Anything other then popular vote is undemocratic.
Anything other then popular vote is undemocratic.
Not really. It's more regulated, sure, but even without Electoral votes, he still won by 4 million.
[editline]9th November 2012[/editline]
My bad. 3 million.

I remember the electoral vote had 100-150 with Obama over so I must have been thinking of that.
it's "barely kind of" a landslide almost I guess? :U even if it isn't, it's still exactly everything Romney didn't except. That's for damn sure. He won a solid there.
4 million is about what, 1-2%? its not much in the grand scheme of things. Its about one city. The election showed that about 49% of Americans are conservative and 50% liberal.
Ryan is described as 'genuinely shocked' and both of their wives were in tears
The Ayn Rand boy toy is out of touch with reality, what a shocker
4 million is about what, 1-2%? its not much in the grand scheme of things. Its about one city.
And 4 million is more than the population of half the states.
And it's 3 percent of the votes.
And the Electoral College is a good thing, because were purposefully not a democracy.
Were a republic and were only meant to vote on local, state, and congressional level. Just saying. Want a democracy? head to Belgium.
[editline]9th November 2012[/editline]
There are very few megacities with that kind of infrastructural capacity, just saying.

I don't live in the US, so that means I can laugh at you guys for having a not terribly sound 'democracy'. 3% is not a landslide. A landslide victory would be 10%+ difference to be honest.
Were not a democracy, so we don't have to have 'democracy'
It just doesn't work for anything besides a small level system.

Democracies do work at a large scale, parliamentary systems without a two party system. And democracy is what your government says it is, and it is, just a bad democracy.
Popular vote was 49 to 50. So not really.
there's still a few states straggling with turning in votes, washington state is only 75% reported yet
current pop vote: 50.5%-48.0%
I can't even describe the amount of cackling I'll be doing if Romney slips into the 47% range with these final tallies
Democracies do work at a large scale, parliamentary systems without a two party system. And democracy is what your government says it is, and it is, just a bad democracy.
It may work at a scale of several millions.
But for a country of 300 million and rising, it wouldn't work.
Representative republics are good for big countries, since they provide semi accurate representation.
We can't control the politicians and they might not try to protect our interests, but the beauty of the system is that if you try hard enough, you can become a politician.

Its not like it matters though, Obama won. Sad that Obama still has a fair amount of downsides, the one I hate the most would be sucking Israeli dick and setting up bullshit such as "We the people", not vetoing NDAA etc.

Its sad that politicians can be legally bribed off to support issues the public probably does not support which is unfortunate.
Dude. The NDAA issue has been blown way out of proportion.
It was the military budget, with some shit tacked on.
YOU CAN'T FUCKING VETO THE MILITARY BUDGET
[editline]9th November 2012[/editline]
And he hasn't been a puppet of Israel, and that's why the right wing government there is starting to dislike them.

Yeah, shit that should not be allowed to be tacked on. And he has been a puppet of Israel, just not as much as republicans would have been. Nearly every resolution at the UNSC, that applies to Israel is vetoed and every resolution at the general assembly is voted down. Harsh sanctions against Iran, a country that otherwise is less intense as Saudi Arabia etc.
I'm saying. Israel constantly threatens Iran with war and has said that they would go to war while only giving the USA a minutes notice, and he hasn't let that slide.
Now, is the USA at war with Iran over a petty dispute?
[editline]9th November 2012[/editline]
The sanctions were our choice and they've worked.

Still pro-Israeli in almost every aspect except a strike. You also get Obama avoiding questions on camera and single-handedly coming to a conclusion on Bradley Manning without a fair trial.
We support them, but we do not bend to their will, no matter how hard they try by rattling their sabres. I like that Obama has done that.
Laserguided is so cute, he is like a little Glaber

Poor guy :(
Laserguided is so cute, he is like a little Glaber
Who is Glaber, also is it because he/she thinks the US system is corrupt and your government is hypocritical in its actions yet bitches to other countries about their actions?

Well line item veto is no longer allowed like it was in the past so he literally had no chance to stop it, unlike other presidents

Glaber's a conservative...
I don't think you're like him at all.
Wow, I actually feel sorry for them, their reactions show how human they really are.
Crocodile tears.
I'm a communist, I don't think.. yeah I'm on the other side of the political spectrum and am all for equality. I don't quite think I'm comparable to a republican.
Just one thing bothers me about the election. Now I don't like Romney at all, and very much wanted Obama to win. However, people need to stop giving Romney shit for just "being rich." It's like people are jealous of his money or something. It doesn't matter how rich he is, what matters is his opinions. If you became rich would you want people to disregard your opinion just because you're rich?
