I hope they do remove it, someone like him doesn't deserve to be remembered if he would do that to such a precious thing. Hes 15, he knows the difference.
It's not even that bad, you could probably wipe it off for gods sake...

We want to wipe off the marking with a towel. But we can't use water since it is a 3,500 relic.
it'd probably disintegrate some of the surface
It has survived for thousands of years, I'm sure it could survive a few dabs of a damp towel.
Because a carving can be removed with a damp towel.
Also, the lack of moisture and water erosion is exactly why it has survived for thousands of years.
Fucking punk
Ok everyone sit tight and don't make any technological progress so we can make this mistake in a few thousand years.
Except though humans have been making technological progress eversince the dawn of humanity but in our own ways though (well first of all, hardcore slavery and worker forces were very common during Ancient times which is how megalithic structures like the Pyramids, Puma Punku, etc were built).

That's the point, we could probably already figure out that the carving is more recent than the original artifact, how would future archaeologists make the mistake of thinking it isn't?

"Archaeological evidence suggests that the Chinese had a huge influence on the world during the 21st century, their empire expanded all the way to North Africa as evidenced here on an Egyptian Communications Wall"
As long as the things not entirely destroyed I don't see this as a really bad thing. It'll just be a funny part of the temple's history.
It is known that the chinese are some of the worst tourists ever.

I thought that was the French?
Welp, have fun with Tutankamon's curse after you now...
Archaeologists in 4012:
"This carving, clearly, is meant to explain that teenagers are fucking idiots."

Well sometimes though which for example, white (or any form of dominant) supremacy or ethnocentrism, or cultural imperialism does get in the way in science which is historically shown in the past (especially if you look at the 19th century...).
As one who is Chinese, this is sad and embarrassing.
God this is really going to fuck over anyone in 3,500 years studying the temple.
If we found 3,500 year old graffiti we'd be pretty amazed by it.
Serious Sam would call the kid an amateour.
As one who is Chinese, this is sad and embarrassing.
Why? This kid doesn't represent Chinese everywhere.
Guys, it's not a big deal - just wait another 3,500 years and it will also become ancient.
That's actually happened already. I've heard that they've found graffiti on Egypt's monuments that date back to Alexander.
Fucking hang the kid.
From the Bar/Brothel of Innulus and Papilio: "Weep, you girls. My penis has given you up. Now it penetrates men's behinds. Goodbye, wondrous femininity!"
From the peristyle of the Tavern of Verecundus: "Restitutus says: 'Restituta, take off your tunic, please, and show us your hairy privates.'"
From Herculaneum (a bar/inn joined to the maritime baths): "Apelles the chamberlain with Dexter, a slave of Caesar, ate here most agreeably and had a screw at the same time."
People writing graffiti back then were literally less mature than graffiti artists today. They made the people who draw dicks on bathroom walls look mature.
Now that theres been 3 posts about it, might as well give a link
